Anyone pleaseeee I'm at the healing church but still can't find it...

Head below the
healing church workshop
and drop down to the door thats about halfway down. Go through the door and you're in a copy of
the hunter's dream
. Go to where the
bath messanger
would be and there is a chest containing it.

Hand lantern <3

The small bell for co-op being locked behind this games version of humanity is straight ass.

How do I get more insight ?

To clarify I want people to summon me. Might just make another character when I get home.

If you don't spend any, you should have enough right AFTER the 2nd boss.

Ok so lets say I ring the bell to summon someone : Can I keep playing and going from area to area while its searching for a client ? Can I play for like 20-30 minutes and eventually a client will join ?

Eat your Madman's skulls. I had 99 insight about half way in (wild guess), but it wasnt really a problem.

After completing the game 100% solo, the only boss I that caused me some proper frustration was
Blood Starved Beast
. That second phase, PhhhhEEEW..

Though, I seem to have missed a lot of content, if this thread is anything to go by.
Which I can't understand, cause I've been really thorough, and have went through all the areas several times.

All in all, the game wasn't as difficult as I had hoped. (Sorry to the guys who's having a hard time.) :p
Could be cause I went with axe, and then great sword for the rest of my play through.

One level costs me 70k souls now. With STR at 50 and my great sword maxed out, there isn't really any way I can upgrade my damage output anymore, which kinda sucks.

Are you open to do some chalice dungeons? Looking for people to roll with, since I'm also at ng+ lvls.

guys please for the love of god tell me there's a closer shortcut to
Blood Starved Beast
that doesn't require me to do all of that traveling and fight the second
hunter
I ignored. I already opened one shortcut but that was WAAAAAAAAAAAAY the fuck back. They can't seriously expect you to take this fucking trek each time to the boss battle do they? There has to be a closer one right? Please?

I'm liking the way co-op in general's been operating in Bloodborne as a helper, at least so far. You're summoned pretty quickly, boss HP buffs means they can hang around for a while, and helper HP being nerfed keeps you on your toes (you do keep access to your blood vials).

No real latency issues either that I can tell, though those can come through more clearly in PvP, which I haven't tried yet.

Having enemies respawn after getting so far is...a depressing experience.

It hasn't deterred me from continuing to play, but damn, when people said these games are brutal, they sure as hell meant it.

You get 1 for entering a boss arena. 2 or 3 for killing them. There are also consumable items to gain 1 Insight, cant remember the name. Found 2 in the sewer area. That was enough to get me to 10 after beating 2nd Boss.

Well, guess you're just going to have to kill him, then.

:-)

actually I remembered the game, like the previous souls games, has items that give you souls...err...echoes. So I popped the ones I had and upgraded my axe once, and got 2 levels, 1 for vit and 1 for sta, every bit helps! :p

edit: nope didnt help at all lol

Man I am horrible at this game :/. Took me like 30 minutes to kill the first enemy. I don't know if I'm cut out for this adventure. Too noob at this genre.

Regretting getting the rifle spear to +5, lol.

Disappointing that the best firearm seems to be a strength weapon more than anything else.

Keep exploring. There's two shortcuts leading back to the lantern. You've found the first.

When you are walking on the ground floor of
old yarnham
with the
giant wolf beasts
there is a door that bursts open with a
giant wolf beast
. Head in there to the top and unlock the shortcut.

You will eventually uncover a shortcut before a boss so that when you die you will be able to run to the boss quickly without killing anything. So dont worry.

There's another one further down in the level, around this spiral staircase building. You open a door, then you can just skip 99% of the whole level by jumping off a few buildings at the very beggining.

Just wait until you can easily blow through a group and get back to a latern for easy Echo grinding. Game gets much easier then. I basically alternate between scavaging and actual progression.

The short cuts help substantially once you find them and have the lay of the land.

I wish there was a way to respawn enemies without going to the hunters dream or dying. It really hampers farming.

Also, I know that feel. The moment that get too far and haven't seen a lamp in a while. So much tension.

Yeah, there is one. Though i don't know how to explain it... But basically
you go into the small church from which a werewolf burst out. On the top floors there should be a cage door that you can open. Now, to get to the caged door from the Old Yharnam lantern, you need to drop down from the roofs. The drop is located by going straight from the Old yharnam lantern to the semicircularly broken cliff-road thingy.

Go to the tower where the werewolf bursts out from, from the top you can open a door. After that you can just jump down to that door from the spawn point (go outside and go straight).

I'm only just after the second boss and into the area after him.
Then I turned around because I had enough insight to get my bell for jolly co-operation.

So happy this game hasn't disappointed me so far. I'm going to finish this game some time and go straight into Pillars of Eternity. Great back to back deliveries.

Madmans Insight

Still of mixed opinions on the Insight mechanic - found it overly restrictive at the start, especially if you want to try and get help at the two first bosses.

Now that I'm a bit further in - not finding it to be that much of an issue, and guess I do sort of like how it encourages people to keep being available for co-op if they want to be able to summon others later on.

Have you been inside the church, on top of the huge stairs?

you mean
the gate
that to reach it from starting area you have to go hardcore parkour across rooftops? Completely forgot about that. Thanks. At least I won't be crying myself to sleep.

Thanks, that's relieving to hear.

Yea that early shortcut you told me about helped a lot dude. Think I'll just farm a bit.
