Well I got to a new zone,
Unseen Village
and I have no idea how I got here and the monsters here are no fucking joke, I'm getting my ass handed to me.

I ran around like a madman and picked up what I could. Some very good drops. Got the fuck out of there though, will go back later

Some lifehacks for people who get stuck all the time and have issues

2. Buy the Hunter gear
The game is really hard if you use your basic gear. Fortunately, you can buy a 4-piece armor set at the vendor in Hunter's dream for about 2500 blood echoes in total. And yeah, that armor set is pretty much a game changer for the beginning section of Bloodborne. You can do this even before the first boss. If you have issues getting 2500 blood echoes though

Should mention that the "blood urns"(?) you collect can be used in your inventory to give you blood echoes, the ones I had were between 350-1000 blood echoes each. I had enough to buy the gear and upgrade my stats a little.

After discovering something jacked about my character's face, I decided to start over late last night. I wish we could edit the face in-game. :(

Anyway, I killed off the good Vicar and now I'm just exploring. It seems like the souls blood starts rolling in past this point.

You can steal health back from enemies for a short time even after they're dead? Regain is cool. Is the cut-off their corpse hitting the ground or what?

Another beginner question: I have already seen the paths split up a few times and got to an area
above the sewers (?), where you meet another hunter on a hidden path
where I felt like the enemies suddenly got a little bit stronger. So I was asking myself if it is actually possible to miss a boss or if all the paths lead you there, no matter which way you choose?

Pretty new to the souls series just killed the first boss. I accidentaly swung my sword at the guy in a wheel chair at hunter's rest and now he is gone. Did I fuck up my game ?

Right but humanity is reversed when I die. Insight as far as I can tell isn't. So why would I not burn the madmans knowledge ?

You lose an insight if you summon someone, and you use them to buy stuff from the vendor so there are ways for it to deplete from your counter still. But yeah, it doesn't seem to be a risk like popping a humanity is

For those having problems with Father G I would recommend the following as it will help you immensely.

1.) Memorize two of his moves and learn the parry timing. This will make the boss much easier to deal with.

2.) Always stay locked onto him. Strafing has invincibility frames. Rolling does not.

3.) Be mindful of your surroundings so you don't get boxed in if you're locked on at all times.

4.) Make sure you're at sizable distance away from him. Enough so that his melee attacks won't hurt you but enough to the point that you can strafe in and attack once he's locked into his final attack animation. It will also help to get in and do your Riposte (Visceral Attack).

5.) Whenever he rolls, he will always attack. Roll to the side of him and immediately get two free slashes in.

6.) When he goes into two handed mode then you should be in two handed mode. Your two handed strong attack will always stagger him. If he's getting ready to attack and you have his moves down then use this opportunity to counterattack him. BE MINDFUL OF YOUR STAMINA

7.) When he goes into the last stage then just dodge a shit ton and use your two handed strong.

GG NO RE WIN.

For his first two stages it's pretty easy to just keep a cluster of gravestones between you and him. Since your attacks will clip through the gravestones you can cheese hit him pretty easily and it will be harder for him to counter.

You can use the tiny music box to stun him real good on his final form also.

Molotovs work great on his final form.

Yeah..I got halfway through a zone..19k blood, freaked out and left..then for some reason I can't warp to that lantern.

Got a question though..Since you can't rest at lanterns, how do you set it as your current respawn? After I found out I can't warp to that particular lantern I decided to run back there..hit x and gave me the option to warp back to the dream a few times..then died shortly after...and warped back to the Cathedral..meaning I have to spend 3-4 mins running back ontop of the loading time because I can't set the lantern as my respawn.

It's a habit for Soul's players to not break an item until they need it. Simply because you never know what's going to happen in a game. What if there's a boss or point in the game that strips you of all your insight? You never know what to expect, so being prepared is best.

Asking this again because the thread moves so fast:

Is there a clear cut set of armor that is better than EVERY other set? Or are they all so close together in worth that you can just wear w/e you like?

I don't believe so, I mean obviously there are some, like the original hunters set that simply need to be replaced. Outside of that from what I've seen the rest of the armor sets are situational. Only beaten 4 bosses as I've been busy.

I preordered the CE on March 10th and Amazon said they couldn't give me an estimate on when they'll have the game ready to ship, but they're "working hard on it." They gave me $5 of credit for the inconvenience. Maybe I'll buy some Jelly Beans and wait it out.

They tried to offer me a month of prime, I declined. Then I was offered $5, and I knew people on here were getting $10, so I said I've had this happen before and I was given $10, so they acquiesced.

I just got an email from Amazon apologizing for the shipping delay and they gave me an 'additional' $10.

And the game comes tomorrow instead of April 2x.

Hype acquired!

I'm taking it slow with this game which is very different to how I approached DkS 1 and 2. I would usually rush forth and be at the 6th-7th boss by now. So far, I've only beaten two and spent most of the time exploring Yharnam and learning enemy patterns while upgrading the shit out of my hunter and his weapons. Wasn't much of a fan of heavy weapons like axes and greatswords but that all changed after playing around with Kirkhammer. I just love doing the R1 L1 R1 L1 combo. And beating the shit out of fatties with the hammer alone is so satisfying.

Okay Father Gasoline is giving me grief now.

Boss fight spoilers:
I can pretty much easily get through his first form, I have his attack/parry window down, but whenever he transforms I just get bodied - he'll jump at me, knock me down, and as soon as I get up he'll jump and knock me down again before I have a chance to react. I'm trying to be more aggressive and parry his attacks but I can't seem to get the window right.
Ugh. I got him down to a last sliver before he got me into a loop of damage to death. I swear I can do this solo.

What is the name of it? I also found one TO THE RIGHT of the Great Cathedrale.(It's hidden and needs an item to obtain first) at night.

Yep, that's how I got there.
After the lecture hall you go into another. Looks like they're a series of progressively harder mini dungeons. There's a Bell Maiden in the second.

What do you press to up vote notes?

I have found that as long as you are "comboing", you can life steal. If you pause, it stops.

Left on touch screen for fair, right for foul

I just left "treat man with care" on the steps in Hunter's Dream. So many posts about new players aggroing NPCs lol

I just used molotovs on the second phase. This was after him kicking my ass about 10 times fighting normal.

I dodged diagonal forward left, then diagonal forward right, when he attacks, should end up behind him.

I like to fight at the top of the stairs. Way more space.

Oh, I need to try that combo. Does it go back and forth between forms? Which form do you start on?

Early in that area there is a building where
a warewolf abushes you by attacking from behind a door.
You go go up some stairs in that building and open a door which will unlock a shortcut to the Old yedhgflkjghf Lamp

Thanks my man!

PS* Some of the fear of this game is going to be taken away tomorrow with Suspend/Resume.

I'm not sure. I always do a warp on each to make sure and that seems to work, but the load times are killing me.

To kill the
werewolves
lure them to the entrance of the building (to one you get to by taking the shortcut) and lure them to the archway. They are too big to pass and will just try to attack you from behind at. At that point you can just charge attack them.

And yeh, Molotovs make the first fight easier.

HAH! Awesome, thanks! Although the last two tries I took them out easily. I got the timing to strafe next to them perfectly =]
Tomorrow I try the molotov =3 I might upgrade my stamina also.
