hypogean gaol, there is a closed door outside after all the enemies (pigs, dogs etc.), any idea on how to open it?

also why can't I get more blood from npcs? It says "you already got one", the fuck does it mean. I have one from the whore and it's an item, not sure why I can't get another one? And what are they used for? They seem like items for some quest.

I liked how I had to change clothes to being able to talk to this cleric though.

Thing seems to be pretty shitty in practice but it looks cool.
 
Need help, made a triple pass on the area couple levels past 2nd Boss.
Ash Guy area in Old Yarnahm I cleared out the entire thing I could, on both sides and have no idea where to go. Got torches and set things a ablaze and have ladders but nowhere goes anywhere that I can continue.

I warped from that Lantern once when I left the zone..it just never gave me the option to warp back to it..

Nervermind , figured it out..there's more than 1 tombstone to warp from in the dream..This was the first of the 2nd tombstone.

That thing seems pretty goddamn useless to me. Am I missing something?
 
Need 20k more echoes to get the Blades of Mercy. God damn time for some farming I guess. I really wanna get another skill based weapon with at least a C rating. I mean the Cane is just not doing it for me and while I like the saw it only has a D rating so it doesn't really scale well.

This game has sailed right on past Demon's and Dark Souls for me. Both of which I consider to be some of the greatest games ever made. The level design is constantly growing and connecting at the same time to just mind blowing levels. Then I am left gobsmacked by how incredible the art is and how the tone is growing ever darker and stranger. Just when you think it's great, it surprises you even more. The blend of Lovecraftian and Gothic, ghoulish horror is just a bewildering level of genius.
 
Beat the first boss and have four insight.... What should I upgrade? I went with military veteran initially and already have 14 strength. Should I just put 1 into endurance and vitality for now and save the last two?

Too many evades to really be styling there, but I was fighting this fucker for the first time, so I was still in the "what are his patterns" mood. ^^
Nothing too fancy here, still only the very beginning, but that makes me believe we'll see some insane styling videos appear soon...

One area where I'm completely lost are the classes and stats, though.
My first run will probably be dedicated to figuring out what works best on this entry. Even though I'm usually more of a strengh player, I went for the cane, to change things up a bit and maybe fast weapons are better suited to this combat engine this time around? We'll see... ^^

Insight is different than stat points, you use Blood Echoes to level. VIT and END are always safe bets.

I have a nice rhythm going around the tree near the fog gate. I can circle around it and keep him in a nice loop. It's mostly working well, just....ugh. I beat the first boss after two tries...this guy I've been working on all night. The real Bloodborne, etc. etc.
 
I've finished the third boss and I need some advice:
I have no idea where to go afterwards, should I spend the 10k souls on the cathedral key?
 
Oh shit, apparently I'm near the end of the game. Though there's some optional stuff strewn about I guess. I'll probably go hunt it all down.
 
So is the coming patch going to fix the bugged storage? Getting really annoying. Spending all my echos on blood vials instead of levels.

Yes.

Then go back to the chapel lantern (Cathedral Ward?) and go through the doorway that’s directly behind you (not the one next to the grandma) and just follow the staircases upwards. If you encounter big enemies, you’re going the correct way.

Restarting the ps4 helps, but it always seems to come back after a while. Whenever I notice it I immediately shut it down. Super annoying.
 
So how far in the game is there magic. In upgrade screen I see arcane and lighting. I just want those so bad if they're like the souls fireballs
