ok remember the purple ball that lifts you in the air and grabs you?

i just got grabbed by it in another spot and now I'm in a completely different zone. this is so fucking awesome.

Guys, I need help understanding what just happened. I was making my way through an area and ended up dying but
instead of going to the nearest check point or the Hunter' Dream I was sent to a prison.
Can anyone explain to me what happened?

Welcome to Azkaban "Yer a Hunter Harry."
Hidden Village Yahar'gul
. Get out of there as fast as you can. I suggest running past the tall guys and up the stairs to activate the lamp post.

Cleric Beast was exponentially more difficult than Gascoigne. Former took two tries, latter took one.

He was a boss done right, however. Cinematic, atmospheric arena, roughly the protagonist's equal in lethality, had an optional side quest. He's probably going to be this game's woobie.

Are the areas visually diverse once you get past the first area? I'm hoping for some deep underground catacombs and some crazy, more fantastical stuff.

fuck blood starved and his one hit kill special. The blood lanterns distract him at least. 14000 echoes are waiting for me in his arena. Tomorrow is another day.

as a story stand point? no I can't but I can tell you that the area is a bit tough and the monster is a lot stronger than the ones you have fought so far. If you want to get out just go up the stairs until you find a lamp so you can get back to hunters dream or you can ofcourse continue in the area if you love challenges.

That's exactly what I did! I even died enough times to get the hang of taking those guys out. I ended up getting close to 30000 Blood Echos before I left. It was pretty cool.

Are there any recommended stat builds? I've only leveled up once, and I think I put the points in vitality and strength. I am a Military Veteran. I don't want to put my skill points in stuff to find out I cannot wear any equipment later

Oh man, too strong.

Glad you're liking the sword. Soooooo good.

Ok I am so bad at parrying with the pistol. I'm on the third boss and he is just destroying me.

Also, I'm really missing estus flasks. I'm not a fan of having to grind every once in awhile for vials and bullets

I don't understand. Shortcuts make the treks to bosses very quick. The shortcuts are basically checkpoints. It's essentially like any other game when you get beat in a boss battle.

Like I said, others find the difficulty awesome, I'm finding fighting the same dudes over and over to be more annoying than anything. I cheesed the fuck out of the Cleric Beast with a bunch of molotovs and it was more of a "thank god I actually made progress" rather than any actual satisfaction.

So I just downed the third boss. Should I still be upgrading my starter Saw Cleaver? If so, when should I look into getting a new weapon?

Fuck Father G.

Fuck that motherfucking fuck.

I'm trying my DAMNDEST to master the gun parry on him also.

I just danced around the gravestones for the first two phases and then healed n' axe'd through the third. He was way too fast to parry consistently, at least for my scrub self. I can parry the regular enemies pretty easily, though.

BSB kicked my ass so many times. It took me a long time to get its stun timing down. Had to do several farming runs of Central Yharnam to refill my vial and bullet stores, but luckily took it down.

Also, fuck that
gatling guy
. Kept thinking I was supposed to go down the front where the
crows and other hunter
were, and kept dying over and over. Took me at least 7-8 deaths before I realize there was the ledge on the side to avoid him.

I went to the table in the house within the Hunter Dream. I picked up a some blood shards when I was learning my way around Central Y. You need echoes as well. Someone told me that fortifying your weapons increases it's power, they argued more so than putting points into certain stats but I do not know about that.

Oh I wasn't leveling up my cane at all. Maybe that's why it does such horrible damage?

Two more questions before I get back to hunting.
What do i do with the Chalice that I got from the Blood-Starved Boss
? Is there anyway to see how long I've been playing this game?

After killing the Cathedral boss, where am i supposed to go ? I just got to the
woods sitting at the lamp
, but i heard there are more things near/at the cathedral. Like they mentionned the church workshop in the game, but i have yet to find it.

Cathedral Ward: Healing Church Tower inquiry.
Door at the top. I'm about ready to move onto the next area. But this one door eludes me. Killed all the (4)bosses, found the lamp for the next area (2nd warp list). No idea what would snake back up to it.

This is my first "Souls" game. Really digging the atmosphere and gameplay! Made it past the first boss on first try. For the 2nd boss i got him down to 1/4 health but then I ran out of blood villes. Really enjoying this game!

This thread has helped out tremendously!

Okay, so did I miss the [fifth boss]
Witch......
, I somehow managed to get to the [later boss?]
Shadows of Yharam(sp?), the three guys you fight at once
. Am I supposed to be fighting this boss? Because it is really hard at the moment.

Also, are there any better armors? They all seem to have roughly similar defense, with just slight differences to things like magic resist and poison stuff...Is it just more about wearing what you want rather than the unbalanced armors of previous souls games?

Brah I cheesed the fuck out of him with molotovs too LOL

I made it to the Cleric Beast but the crappy target camera is making it really frustrating. It reminds of the Capra Demon in Dark Souls with so little room to maneuver.

Where do I repair my durability? My weapon broke.

I think there's a key you have to buy from the echoes merchant in the Dream.
