What the hell? You can't interrupt people from entering a (pre-fog) boss door, so it's pretty much impossible to stop people from escaping. (Which is good for people who get invaded, I guess.)

I have an issue, I'm at the third boss of the game, and I still have my old ass equipement (a classic cane and some stuff that I could buy at the dream shop), but I see some of you guys having some pretty fancy shit at that point in the game (new coats and weapons I never saw), did I miss a turn somewhere?

Get 10 insight and you can buy armor from a special merchant in the Hunter's Dream. The regular merchant has weapons.

I'm rocking a Kirkhammer +3 and Daddy G's outfit.

It's funny because now, I can 1 or 2 shot everything between me and Father G.

I have a feeling the game will breeze by once I beat that punk since I spent the past 3 hours basically farming the town for Echoes to fortify and level up.
He is definitely a challenge but the skills you get from learning that fight will be of great use going forward so stick with it!

You can buy new items with insight or there's also
a hunter armor set right before the church kinda hidden behind a tree that gives you a top hat and new armor

Got my ass handed to me by the two werewolves on the bridge like 10 times, which I assume are supposed to be easy. My first time actually trying to fully beat a Souls game (I tried and quit both DS and DSII after 5 hours due to new games coming out). Don't want to quit this one though. I'll try again tomorrow.

Threaded Cane and Blunderbuss if you're wondering.

when transforming, make sure. You're far enough away so you don't get knocked back. While he's transforming spam molotov on him. You should get two maybe 3 on him that should damn near kill him. You can also coat him in oil before throwing the cocktails and they'll do more damage.

Hmmm... guess I'll farm Echoes and buy like 20 Molotov's or so and just melt the bastard lol

Get WRECKED, bitch. Father Gasciogne is down. Once I got his parry moves figured out, I started eating his ass up. A molly to the chest where he holds that L finished him off.

That was my second attempt.

And cheesed those fuck ass werewolves, too. Just whacked them over the head where the fog gate was before the Cleric beast fight. They don't go any further than that, so I took advantage and pissed on their cheap asses.

Might go a little further, but my nightly hunt is done until tomorrow. :D

So I beat BSB (as my 3rd boss) maybe 10 minutes ago--where the hell should I go next? After BSB there's no where to keep moving forward, so I'm assuming I backtrack somewhere. Can someone point me in a direction? <3

Buy the key and go back to the Cathedral Ward lantern.

Did some chalice dungeons today. Surprise surprise: they're not randomly generated!

I made and completed the chalice you get from the BSB. Afterwards I joined a friend doing the same chalice and the layout, enemy locations and bosses were exactly the same. The same is true for all low-tier chalice dungeons.

Mid-tier changes things up a bit though. At that point the game starts giving you the option to add some additional, purely optional, materials to the mix when you make the chalice. Your choice will influence everything in the dungeon. If someone makes the same choices however, it will still be the same.

Spelunky this is not.

Werewolves aren't easy ;p I think they're supposed to be the first stumbling block, there's 1 particular attack with a huge wind up that you should be able to use to practice counters. They rear up on their hind legs and dash forward, shoot them mid-dash.

I had to skip those werewolves they are harder than the boss
They are still hard 3 bosses in

Bought the blade of mercy. Requires a different playstyle from the saw spear for sure but damn it is a fun. First weapon for me too where I like it better transformed. Sucks that you can't use the gun to parry anymore though once transformed. It also made me realize I need to put in some points to endurance so I can get out some more attacks.

Man I am enjoying the hell out of this game. Just made it to the first boss and it owned my face but I'm gonna be ready for it this time. Transforming your weapon into a 2 hander is awesome.

He is definitely a challenge but the skills you get from learning that fight will be of great use going forward so stick with it!

I'm basically walking in, dodging his first incomming attack and then go on a pattern of:

1. Wait for boss to stop swinging; I move in and do a 3-button R1 attack.
2. Immediately roll away twice, pop a heal, roll away twice again, pop another heal.
3. Turn to face him; activate Music Box; Repeat steps 1 to 3 again two more times.
4. He enters Beast Mode.
5. I Die because his Beast Combo doesn't let me get off the ground.

I've been dumping more stats into VIT and END, hoping it'll let me survive longer. No luck so far.

Man, I was pretty good at Demon's and Dark Souls but Bloodborne is tough so far. Even though I played agile character in the other games, I always had a 100% physical shield ready and I almost never bothered with riposting. ..but Bloodborne's all LOL RIPOSTE ERRYDAY and I'm all I DIED.

So they would work like seeds like in minecraft . You could still call them procedurally generated like they said from the beginning though i guess there might have been some confusion.

Oh yeah, besides the negatives in my last post, chalice dungeons are totally worth doing. I fought three really cool unique bosses so far that could have easily been in the main game. Seriously, start working that chalice.

This is freaking awesome: I made it through the area after the cathedral without a scratch up until I opened a shortcut - getting an item from a guy along the way. He directed me to the very same mysterious area I mentioned before.
The strange altar room with a locked door where another invisible giant Cthulhu monster picked me up and squished me. Only things went way different this time. I tried the door - no luck. Then I had an idea. I let him grab me again - only this time it started a cutscene! Apparently another one told "Amygdala" to "spare the poor bastard". Now I woke up in a completely unknown location and I'm about to explore it. So awesome.

I decided to stop leveling yesterday and continue the game while helping low level people get past bosses 2,3 and 4. I do it for the new blood. But I don't help them completely. I charge the bosses and knock them down to below half health, trying to show them not to be afraid. then i take some steps back and take a seat. I watch the rest of the fight, encouraging people to finish off the bosses. It's kinda entertaining. I also feel it strikes a balance between helping them move forward and facing their own fears while improving their playstyle. If you summon someone named Terteryan, don't expect him to finish the fight for you.

Not sure if this has been asked but can you equip an item and not have it displayed? For example, I want to equip a hat to get the defensive properties but don't want it to show in game.

Any tips for the first area? I love the souls games but am getting super frustrated. I've made it to the two wolves on the bridge but I keep dying. Should I be buying better equipment before heading further in that direction?

Basically just started the game and I'm in the area near the beginning where you meet the
beaked lady who gives you some Bold Hunter's Marks
after traversing some beams.

Problem is...how do I leave this area? The only way I see is down, as in falling down to my death
lol.gif

Buy the key and go back to the Cathedral Ward lantern.

I feel like theres multiple paths from there. Am I going the right way?

I just faced 2 gigantic you know whats--one of which (after the first) had a huge wrecking ball on a chain.

EDIT: Scratch that, door was closed near the chest.

Wait, really?! I avoided that because it had killed me in another area.

Run past the wolves and
unlock the shortcut. Between the wolves and the next big ogre guy there's steps to the left leading down into a house. go to the main floor, open a door and go up some steps to unlock a gate and voila the lantern. Now you can get back to the bridge quickly

To be honest I never even bothered beating the wolves, they were too hard

Just accidentally beat the game and missed some optional areas
castle
and bosses . Keep going with ng+ or roll another character?
(I was able to beat the game in 24hrs game time)

Step out and fall, just not to the lowest level.

Those wolves are pretty easy if
you can fight them from inside the dark room that juts out of the bridge. Don't know if you came from that direction, maybe you could run past them and find it, there wil be lesser enemies inside, however. But the wolves can't enter the dark room, so you can do jump attacks at them from the door and back away when they lash out.

You can go down to the sewers below and exit out to different sewer paths from there.

Thanks guys, so it's normal that I still use that same weapon.
