Oh what the hell. That's obnoxiously convoluted, I missed this and I searched the entire place.
So if I go back there quickly and grab that, I'm set to enter...uh...where is this?

I don't know if you killed the Witch of Hemwick yet, but spawn at that lamp and run out to the field with the executioners (the big one just before you enter the house). Once you're there look for the thing that looks kinda like the Washington Monument. It will trigger if you have it. It's a really cool secret.

After beating the first boss is there something I'm looking for the on bridge? That fast travel doesn't seem all that better than the second option.

God damn I feel like a failure, I cannot beat the Blood Starved Beast for the life of me. :( So frustrating using up all your materials on one run.

Thanks, and no, I died once because I'm half asleep, then I quit. Night guys :3

Yeah past that. You may run into a few more. ;)

And no problem. Happy to help answer questions.

Thanks haha, this game makes me feel dumb. Not really the combat encounters but just getting lost.

Now I've been past that big
pig
and killed a bunch of
alien plant looking dudes
but that path leads to a dead end. Am I in the right area?

I am at Amelia, and she is kicking my ass. Worse than BSB so far. Everything just has a huge radius. I can't get partying down STILL.

Anyway, there are two other paths near her. One leads into a cave, and the other, rooftops. Should I explore these before fighting her, or do they go on into new areas?
The rooftop path to the right leads to some area that needs to be unlocked with some item you don't have yet (if you try to open the door some being snatches you up and one shots you).

The left path takes you to the Witch village. Not that hard or long of a zone with an easy boss fight that gives you ability to use runes.

Amilia isn't hard, you have to be in her face and dodge towards her not the sides (too wide of an arc on her swings). Aim for her arms to stagger her and prevents her from healing.

I don't normally want a map for a souls game, but the
forbidden forest
could use one. I got through to the end, but there are large sections where everything just looks the same.

It's actually very easy to navigate during the second half if that's where you're stuck. Just look for any downward slope. You want to constantly descend.

Did you just use the whip form on BSB from a distance? I might just craft a cane just for this fight.

She heals? :-O

Fuck me.

Thanks man. Going in for round 5.

So guys, what are some good combos to try with the Axe?

Also, what's a good Endurance stat to strive for? Mine's at 12 right now. Focusing on Vitality(18) and Strength(16). Just beat Cleric Beast.

The power charged R2 is detroying the game so far...just beat Gascoigne (had him down to a sliver on first try.) This attack trivailized the fight paired with the
trees
of life. Have rang the beell and helped three noobs straight and no one died but Gascoigne...almost too easy with help and the axe as it knocks him down .

I run out of endurance at 12 all the time..... need more ....my guess is it is the same as other souls games..cap at 40 unless otherwise noted.

Here I was trying to fucking go to sleep like the good obedient corporate slave I should be

FUCK IT I WANT TO KILL THIS
AMELIA

You and me both lol. I've almost got her though. I swear I've died over 50 times against her. My friends are gonna laugh at me when they kill her easily.

I went past a major part of the game accidentally, then came back waaaayyy overleveled for it. It's funny to hear people talk about the w
itch
being difficult or tense because I just destroyed her

Hey can you tell me where he is? I think I skipped him.

Get killed by weird enemy holding a sack...

I'm back on it because I read a post above yours on this page.

Fuck it I got a split shift so I can nap. SHE WILL DIEEEEE

Opposite from that area. Should run into a small pool of water and some
crawling zombies
.

Hm, so I was told the bath messenger would sell the bell that allows me to help people with bosses after I attained 10 insight. They're not selling it.

^different merchant burgerdog, look for the one just outside of the door of the house in Hunter's Dream. Right on the cliff.

Oh yeah, the spin move with the Hunter Axe is amazingly strong. Like, I've killed five bosses I think? And the spin move makes short work of pretty much every enemy and you can even stunlock some bosses with it if you're with another person.

Do you use the R2 charge in one handed or two handed mode?

I love the two handed spinning charge attack, but it takes 100% of my stamina away so I can't sidestep or roll if I miss. That's why I'm afraid to use it more often. Missed the werewolves with it and got fucked.

Uhhh...wow.

That black hole-esque thing picked me up again in the area to the right of the Great Cathedral.

I kind of saw what it was, didn't get a look at it's face but could see it's hand holding me. It looked like it had multiple arms. Some Eldritch Horror lovecraft shit there

Help?

Two doors that I can't open: the top door at the
Church Workshop tower
and the left door seen facing the
Hypogean Gaol
lamp.

I also don't know how to trigger the elevator in the gaol.

So invading doesn't really work, huh? Pretty far cry from DkS2. First time I tried to invade in that game, it immediately worked.

Give it some time. If you're seasoned with these games, you're probably in a smaller pool of candidates for PVP. Or people may just be exploring PVE.

This will be a great PVP game because of the focus on good scaling.

Thanks. Not lost though. I'm at the boss now. Not complaining, just criticizing. Still think the travel to the boss was more convoluted than normal.

I mainly did a combo of dash -> R1 with cane immediately as I come out of it -> L1 -> and then get in as many whip attacks as was reasonable (or usually none and then I'd reset back to the cane). I kind of just went for what felt right. I have a Threaded Cane +4 and a Skill level of 19 (while being at level 18), though.

1- Ritual Blood - required for the chalice dungeons
2- Bloodshot eyeball - dunno just got it
3- Lake - ?
4- Madman's knowledge - increases insight
5- Red jeweled brooch - use for souls or give as part of a quest

1- required fo the chalice dungeon, how? where i need to use how.
2-
3-
4- what is insight
5- where?

Holy moly, that third boss was no joke. Finally obtained (weapon spoiler, maybe?)
Ludwig's Holy Blade
and I'm pretty sure I will use no other weapon in the game, probably.
