Just mucking around in the sewers and I come upon an area with a
fucking huge, intimidating brute and a flaming boulder.

I avoid the
boulder
, but now he's just standing there, inviting me to fight him but I'm scared shitless. I've only defeated one boss so far and I'm level 16, so I sort of feel like I don't belong here.

Do I belong here, GAF?

Amelia fucking down!

It turns out that
she is basically perma stunlocked by fire weapons.

Yes.

Huh, well that's pretty shitty. Where is all this 40+ hours stuff coming from then? I hope it's not that short.

It's about pacing though, if you go from 1 boss to next, obviously it's a short game but if you explore and play dungeon in between time is longer.

Yep you're fine.

Well that's your fault for being so insensitive. What were you thinking?

Thats what I did :(
You're supposed to not give it to her, then you can send her somewhere
So there is a third option? I still have the item, now I'm more undecided on what to do lol

Surely there has to be more to the Unseen Village than just the one lamp? I'm currently stuck with one locked door by the lamp, and an elevator I can't use.

Yes right past that guy is the
second boss

A lot of zones/bosses can be easily skipped. There's a lot of variability in terms of how long it will take someone to beat the game based on skill and exploration.

Every stat is "useful" depending on what item you want to use. Certain items scale with different stats. Some scale pretty decently with bloodtinge and arcane.

I'd say Bloodtinge is the most "dubious" stat to raise as I didn't see anything that scaled amazingly well with it and I don't see a gun focused build being feasible.

Arcane allows you to use certain items in the game that inhabit your quick slots that do interesting things and also increases any elemental damage you do. If you ever apply fire paper or bolt paper to your weapon, arcane scales that up (which can be very very useful). There's also a flamethrower that I believe scales with Arcane.

Thanks. I remember people in Dark Souls thread saying not to put souls in one certain stat (can't remember the name) so I was wondering if BB has something like that.

Playtime varies wildly in these games. HowLongToBeat.com shows Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2 in the 40-50 hour average range. I beat both in the 25 to 30 hour range. Just depends on playstyle, exploration and some luck.

W
et Nurse
is a really interesting fight. It may be an easy one, but it's just a really nice fight.
The clone that would appear in the shadows, the music box music playing, how it ends with "NIGHTMARE SLAIN".

Edit: Oh hey,
the dream is on fire.

The sinister bell only allows people to invade me when I use it.
No, you can invade others with it. Its just that to invade someone they need a bell ringing woman in their world. The issue is the bell ringing woman only appears during co op sessions and late solo levels. And the bell ringing woman can be killed.

Makes it tough to find a match.

Here is how the Sinister Bell works. Whenever you use it, there's a chance that a bell-ringing woman (enemy) will spawn who beckon other invaders into your world as well. (She seemed to spawn every time I used the bell right after I had died, but any successive time after a successful invasion didn't spawn her again.) So if you find her and kill her, then you only need to worry about waiting until one of those bell-ringers in someone else's world brings you there.

People take the same risk (and summon her) by using the bell used for co-op.

Tonitrus is OP when you turn on the bolts.

Oh what the heeeeell, I did that too. I didn't want to ask what would happen if I did that because I want to play the game without being spoiled.

Fuckdamnitwhy.

Killed the third boss, tried to help another with it and he died, then tried invading and ended up going against three people.

I only did the other two things because I don't know where to go now.

I'm not trying to toot my own horn, but I'm a pretty decent Souls player that has beat the other 3 games numerous times. I can easily see a new player taking 40+ hours.

the first fatty that guards nothing, with the hood an ax? When I pass his area heading towards the villagers, i hear people talking but I don't see a door to talk to them. Anyone know?

This game is going to go down as the worst PvP "Souls" game.

Fight Clubs will be damn near impossible to organize.

Question regarding an armor set

Do you have to kill the female Hunter to get the plague doctor outfit? Or can you find it somewhere?

I love that I've spent three nights trying to get to a boss and a new lantern (unspoiled) and I finally get to
an old man in a graveyard
who promptly kicks my ass, then I come on here and see that it doesnt seem like the first boss people are hitting. Very cool design.

And I totally forgot to even use the music box in the fight where I was probably supposed to use it. I'm hoping there isn't anything I missed story-wise because of that.

I actually killed him on my 2nd try! Spamming molotovs at the end was perfect to finish him off.

Does anyone have any tips for the hunter with a katana? I'm starting to think From didn't play test this fight because it's ridiculous.

Im stuck at
Old Yharman
with no health potions! Im scared to grined for the blood echos to get consumbles because I wont have anything to level up with. If I kill
the hunter on the machine gun is he gone for good? I feel like that would make it a lot easier

*deep breaths*
I FUCKING HATE the big enemies on the way to the cathedral. Especially those 2 than can frenzy you right before the boss. I ended up wasting a good number of blood vials because I get stun locked and end up frenzied. GAH!
