Where do you go after the Blood Starved Beast ? Shall I try again Darkbeast Paarl ?

Also I just bought the 10.000 blood echoes key in the hub, but right now I wonder where to use it.

good god thanks! i will kill her because i probably already failed her quest line.

Tell me if you get the item, since it seems that specific one is tied to something, but you may be able to get one from somewhere else if you don't get that one.
The other two are set where they come from, but the third either comes from her, or the prostitute that you can send to a safe area, depending on where you send her or something.

By the way, a tip for newcomers. Use the quick menu that's bound to the right part of the touchpad for things like the notebook and other items that you wouldn't use in battle. Use only the item menu for quick access (using the square button) for items that need to use used often in combat. I didn't know how to use that menu before and used up slots in my active items section with items that I didn't need to have instant access to. Once you use that other menu you can carry more essential items with you into battle.

Well shit. I just discovered that I completely missed a boss and it's gone until I hit NG+. It was an area I was planning on going back to and investigating further once I had leveled up my weapon a bit. Oh well.

On the plus side, I found at least one area where you can be invaded without ringing your coop bell first.
I was invaded in Nightmare Frontier. You can stop it by finding and killing the woman ringing the bell if you're so inclined though.

shit shit shit.

I didn't know that was going to start new game+ , had no idea I had killed the final dude. I didn't kill
5
bosses. I didn't even find a single covenant.

I'm worried about triggering NG+. Should I do
Nightmare Frontier
,
Cainshurst, or continue on in Unseen Village?

How did u kill him?

I had a co-operator. I wasn't actually planning on having him but I forgot I had tried summoning at the beginning of Old Yharnam lol

Anyway, really I just dodged like hell, waited for it to finish a combo and then hit him 3 or 4 times. Cane +2 with fire paper did pretty good damage.

I just picked up the game last night and only had a short opportunity to play. I only played long enough to get to the first lantern in the first actual level, but it seems to me there are three starter weapons: two for little bitches and then THE CANE.

I think I fucked up. So in the
Cathedral Ward, I closed the gate blocking off the giant only to get rekt by the other giant with the ball and chain. Going back to the spot is impossible now that I have closed the gate and the switch is on the other side. Is the only thing I can do right now is farm for the 10k echoes and buy the main gate key?

If it is the gate I think it is, there is a switch on both sides. I have no idea what the purpose of that gate is.

Heard a rumor that you could use the
music box against Father G
to placate him.

Also, the mystery of whether to give the brooch back is killing me!

Trying to remain spoiler free, but there is one thing that I want to know for sure weapon wise.

Is there a scythe in this game? This is very important to me. You don't even have to tell me where it is, just yes or no. Thanks!

Yes, there is. It comes from
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
.

I "beat" the game last night.

Got one of the endings. It looks like there are probably at least three endings. I was deciding between continuing on for what is sure to be the "true" ending using the three umbilical cord pieces, or just ending and starting over, and I decided just to end it there, grab the trophy (I'm sure I'll go for platinum anyway), and start a second play through.

Most of my critiques I posted earlier in this thread held up all the way to the end. I'm hoping that it will truly change during the path to the true ending/in new game+, but a couple of the stats were pretty much useless to me, there wasn't much reason to switch armor aside from resistances, I almost never used my gun later in the game (no need to parry when I can just dodge, and even if I do get hit I can just quickly swing and get my HP back).

My biggest later-game disappointment was how damn easy pretty much all of the bosses were. Hopefully there are a bevy of very difficult bosses entrenched in the "true" ending path, because out of the last ~5 bosses or so, I beat all of them in three tries or less, often first try.

All in all, this is a great game and I'm very pleased with it so far and looking forward to diving back in for more right away and trying to "main" a different weapon.

I was skeptical about most of the NPCs being behind doors, but now I'm really starting to love that mechanic. You kind of develop an interesting relationship with these hidden people, some are just nasty to you, some want your help right away, and what I like the best are the ones that you can start to convince over time. I just got another one to help me that I figured I'd never convert. And seeing your efforts manifest in the chapel is a really satisfying way of seeing how you're affecting the city.

If you are worried about triggering NG+ , know that you have to do it willing so
Just don't go to the back gate in the Hunter's dream

Anybody? The guy does a hell of a lot more damage than I do. Can kill me in 3-4 hits. Riposting him doesn't do that much damage and that's with a Kirkhammer +4 with 20 points in Strength.

Also, will have to summon from Old Yharnam since it wont let me summon in Cathredal Ward or Central Yharnam.

Is it possible to bring someone back that far? I thought the door out of Cathedral Ward back to the Tomb was blocked by fog when we were co-oping.

How can i assign things to that ? I never found a way of doing this. It's not in the options menu.

I think you have to click square on on of the boxes and select an item. That menu isn't very clear which is why I didn't know how to use it at first. You tap the right side of the touchpad and press X to use an item in game.

I'm so dumb LOL. I love the scenery but the darkness and design of it all makes some things blend in with each other too easy. Thanks!

Don't worry. I freaked out about it as well because after flipping the switch from the lower side I rolled under the closing gate. Thought I just locked an area of the game off on myself.

Alright, someone help me with the Blood Starved Beast. How do I deal with him once he's frenzied? Just parry?

The parry window is different. I realized trying to parry was actually making things harder to me. So i just dodged its attacks hitting it whenever i could.

Will other devs even care to match the level design bar from has raised? God damn, Dark Souls 2 disappointed in that area but this.. this is the holy grail.

There is a ladder to the roof and then you can follow the rooftops.
It's at the foot of the stairs after you shift the secret bookcase
.
yes I found it right after I wrote that post. couldn't see it because this game is so fucking dark, is it just me? I'm basically using the torch all the time.

What's the census on dex vs str. I haven't put too much into either that i cant make a change. I wanted to try the kirkhammer but would need to up my str to be able to wield it.

Just keep locked on, stay close, and dodge forward under his main attacking arm and he misses you while you get behind him. If you dodge the other way you might need to sidestep a couple of times in the same direction to get out of the way.

I'm frustrated that I have to pretend to be a grown up and go to work and sleep at least 6 hours a night because I want to be Bloodbourne-ing all day, every day.

I beat Father G.
I did go back to get the music box, but I forgot to equip it for the fight, so I just killed him without it.

Which reminds me:
is there actually a safe place to send people looking for one like the little girl and the woman near the dog cages? I gambled on the doctor at the clinic, but she's obviously experimenting on people based on the follow-up conversations I had with the doctor after sending people to her. The guy at the temple definitely doesn't seem on the level either. Is there no true safe haven for these poor souls? I feel like such a monster for getting paid in items by the doctor when the little girl told me she loved me. :-( What have I done!

I also cleared
Old Yarnham
(I think.) I killed the
Blood Starved Beast
on my first try. I had to riposte it six times in a row to do it, but I did kill it. I imagine fighting that thing could be quite nightmarish if you're not good with a gun. Had a lot more trouble with the
Gatling Gun Hunter. Fuck that guy. Throwing him off the roof of that building was delicious.

Now I've fought my way up to
Amalia
and got my butt thoroughly handed to me. I can tell this is going to be a long and bloody conflict...I can't wait!
