I just want to say that this game is putting pretty much every other game to shame. It's so rich and rewarding and deep. The sense of discovery and achievement and surprise I've felt during this game is something completely unique. The best thing is that I know I'll still be discovering new things on subsequent playthroughs. Just a phenomenal game.

For weapon scaling, Lodwig's Holy Blade scales with Str, Skill, & Arcane. Currently mine has B,C,B respectively. Which should I focus my leveling in? Like my 3 stats are 16, 13, 8 respectively.

Well, that's it for me for tonight. Beat
Shadow of Yharnam, The Witch and Rom
tonight. I'd say that's good progress. Hopefully tomorrow the
Hypogean Gaol
area won't seem like an impossible feat.

Despite getting wrecked by Rom, I found the student outfit is very beneficial. It has a 140 defense against arcane. You can see the difference and it is no doubt going to help me when I finally do beat him.

anyone get the trophy for getting a really good blood gem? Was it found in a chalice dungeon?

Well GAF, I've done *everything.*

Not really
.

Killed all bosses
except last two
and unlike my Dark Souls 2 playthrough, where I did every boss coop, I did everything solo :D Super proud of myself! It was hard, but I feel really accomplished. I have
all 4 umbilicals, and I am ready to fight the end boss and get the good ending, but I really want to get some achievements before I start new game +. Can anyone help me out? Where do I get the super valuable gem achievement? Don't tell me it's the Blood Rock, cuz I got that and nothing popped...

Don't put the Fire Blood Gemstone on Ludwigs. Wrecks the damage output tremendously unless you're scaling for Arcane.

If you don't have a respectable amount in Arcane, just stick with Fire Paper.

I love this game. DS1 may end up being the more replayable, deeper single player experience, DS2 may end up being the best mp experience, but as a 1 time single player adventure, this is the best paced, most fun, most polished, Souls experience to date. The best combat system and level design hands down. I also think the story, as presented in game without having to comb through item descriptions, is the best it's ever been.

Question about the end of the game:

Is
Mergo's Loft
the final area? I read that you start NG+ immediately, so I don't want to accidentally kill the final boss.

She doesn't, or at least I have not found her yet

What was I supposed to get from the
Guy on the Gatling gun
I
knocked him from the roof and I thought I killed him, but a guy who looks very similar started attacking me. Once I killed him he only dropped ash.
I think i missed out on the goods.

Quit and reload and his stuff will be back up by the gun. The other enemy downstairs is a different guy.

Where did you get that? Also I'm pretty sure you need to invest heavily in arcane if you're using an elemental gem.

boss. For such a disturbing area that was one unexpected way to finish it. The fight was witch-tier difficulty but I don't even care, this game is weird as hell.

as far as I can tell the
boss of cainhurst
is impossible. endless pew pew that does almost my full life bar.

I used the spin 2 win strat because lol axe.

He never used the projectiles after the early stage of the fight for me. His normal scythe slash is suuuuper easy to sidestep and punish.

fourth boss spoilers

Really? Healing? You know you've made a boss fight too easy when you have to artificially make it harder by making it take longer because the boss is able to heal whenever they want and you can't stop them. And the boss only "sometimes" getting stunned after a big hit is complete bs. Oh well, guess this game isn't perfect, as much as I liked the first three bosses.

Dude... It's not there to make the boss artificially harder. It's there to place another dynamic (urgency) to the fight. And the boss getting stunned isn't random. Just because you haven't figured it out doesn't mean it's shit design.

Oh I'm at the boss at CH right now. Got him to halfway with only 8 pots on me, think i got this. Equipped some armor that I think has the defenses needed too now, and bought a crap ton of pots.

The online is such a fucking bummer for what would otherwise be a masterpiece. I've killed about 7 bosses now, all solo, because online is straight up broken. I'm not even sure it works at all. I've never heard of a single person successfully getting summoned. Just waiting, waiting, waiting, and nothing. Sitting here outside of Darkbeast Paarl with me bell up hoping to help someone out, but nope. I hope they fix this shit asap because online is such a fun part of these games.

I've been summoned a lot, yesterday for three hours I was doing nothing else but helping people with bosses.

Just stick close and parry him if he melees. Shoot the sword that he sticks in the ground. The close range magic stuff hurts like hell but they're all avoidable.

Yeah, it flip-flopped the scaling from PHYS to Fire. And to be quite honest, I don't remember even getting it. Was just putting in Blood gems when I saw the third slot was available and I had it as an option to add.

Its sole purpose is there to make it longer, even if it can be canceled out of.
Bosses being able to self heal is just as bad a gimmick as adds in a boss fight. And I wish it was just the random stuns (when she starts gushing blood) on the charge hits. The hitboxes on her overhead swing are random (sometimes getting hit on the same dodge), her moveset is boring and repetitive, the occasional tracking on her jump is way too much to where she starts turning direction mid jump. This feels like a DS2 boss more than a BB boss.

break the window behind the lamp in the garden up there, you're not done there

Regarding
Eileen the Crow
, is there any way to find her if I haven't met her at all before killing
Rom and/or Paarl
?

Guys I don't understand how the inventory limit works in this game.I don't see a weight limit.

I understand the vial limits, bullets, and consumable limits etc ,but not the other stuff in the inventory. How do I check it ?

Just so you know,
you haven't finished that area if that's where you stopped.
