Question for the very beginning of the game:
I accidentally killed a man in a wheelchair in Hunter's Dream like maybe 5 minutes into the game. He disappeared. Should I restart?

People who stroll into Souls threads and brag about how easy the game is are so lame and unnessecary, the forever trolls of gaming.

Can't I port from the Hunter's Dream to anywhere where I activated a lamp ?

I reached now Hemwick Charnel Lane and I used the lamp to teleport to the hunter's dream, but the clostest thing I could teleport to was Cathedral Ward.

I have also died in Hemwick Charnel Lane, but it brought me back to the Cathedral Ward.
Is this a bug or what am I doing wrong, please help :(

No, you're fine. He's one of the few NPCs where aggro-ing him doesn't affect anything.

Are you looking at the correct tombstone? Check the ones next to the first one, different areas show up there.

Advice for BSB if people are having trouble:

Items:

Fire paper
Black Church Clothes or Gascoigne Set
Antidote (no more than 2 needed)
Oil Urn if you want to speed it up
Any weapon +3

Go in room, let him do his first charge attack from distance and dodge left. Then approach, when he raises his right arm dodge forward to his right, close to his body, to get under his arm and behind him. Get 2-3 hits in—Saw Cleaver +3 with Fire Paper will do a good 350-500 dmg in 3 hits. He'll turn around. Keep dodging under his right arm and hitting him from behind. If he does a combo, GTFO and then repeat the process. Nothing changes when he's in crazy mode.

Doing the above method I killed him in about 30-45 seconds. Never got poisoned, and he didn't even scratch me once. I swore I recorded a video to show how easy it is but I'm looking through my video clips and somehow I never saved it. =

I finally got around to playing this today, I haven't even reached the first boss though. I've just been exploring, farming a bit and getting used to the faster pace.
Didn't realise you need to get to the first boss to level up tho...fuck.

The mechanics are pretty solid and I like the faster pace. The game looks gorgeous as far as I'm concerned. The scale and detail of Yharnam is really impressive. The audio design is really good too, that sound the crows make when they attack sounds fucking nuts through my home theater. Can't wait to play some more tonight.

there are multiple tombstones for porting next to each other in the dream

I like the route of naming and putting spoil bars on everything but the first letter of each word. People that got there can tell at a glance what it is and it stops people from uncovering something with no context that's late in the game.
That is a lot of work on my phone. :/

What, there are other tombs which I can use to port ?

Never felt I so stupid. Thanks !

You have different tombstones for different areas, take a look around :P They're all beside one another.

Check the headstone to the left

By the way, does increasing Bloodtinge increase the damage output of your guns significantly?

I'm almost happy with my Vit/End/Str/Skill so I'm wondering if I should pop some points in Bloodtinge or if I should just increase the other ones further.

Starting to regret beating the 'final' boss without having found the 2 optional bosses I missed. Not sure I can really motivate myself to work my way back through the game again on NG+. Sort of burnt out on that in DkS2 already.

Maybe some other time, but I may be done with BB for now which is a shame because my game clock is only at 20 hours. I guess I'll do some Chalice dungeons as I haven't touched any of those yet and see if that hooks me. I hear it can be done co-op and since I only ever summoned once in the whole game, that might be a nice change of pace.

I definitely don't remember this many insta-kill or 40-60% damage attacks in DaS. Even O&S felt challenging but fair. This feels like I'm just supposed to dodge around like an idiot until there's an opening. The more I play I'm also missing the RPG elements of DaS, even though I rocked the Zweihander through most of that game.

I don't know, my first visit to
Old Yharnam
was pretty awesome but everything else has been pretty mediocre. The boss fights are the worst part of the game.

The game is massive. I would say you have tons more to see and go do. You're just getting a hold on things and your level might be low. Imagine a giant shift in your direction once you grind those first couple of hours. It's well worth it. I got a little irritated about someone I knew who was staying in the first two sections. You have to progress. I enjoyed it just as much. I think the city was well put together. The lighting effects and the stuff blowing in the air at the beginning. They have some great imagination when it comes to a fantasy world. Try out the first couple dungeons if you're not progressing.

There's a ton of stuff I havent done and lots of stuff that is still there. The dungeons should be interesting. I hope they add more down the road. I would definitely buy any additional content.

Is it normal that the C
leric
B
east
can grab you and "hug" you 3 or 4 times in a row killing you without a chance of doing anything?

I believe I was almost on full health and he happened to grab me and killed me just like that and I don't know if there was anything I could do besides sitting there. Maybe I should have pressed attack or dodge or something while being held in the air?

It made me want to throw the controller against the wall... :(

Are you locked on? I wouldn't be. As long as I was running those never seemed to hit me.

Look for women ringing bells to stop that. They're usually hidden somewhere.

That whole area is a pain in the ass.

I am far enough that I am not locked on. But how do I go about it?
Kill her minions first? Wait till I am a higher level? Those little spider attacks almost one shot me when they jump on me. I can't see them coming when i'm attacking the big momma.

Finished my first run through, amazing experience, arguably the pinnacle of From Software's modern series of action games. Took a good while, though I think I cleared everywhere (but didnt really touch the Chalice stuff)
Got the true ending, though it felt a little underwhelming/short or vaguely comedic or both

So, need some help:

Killed Vicar and Witch, now the only way to go as far as I can see is this one area where I keep getting killed by this purple void. I'm not sure where to go next.

Any advice?

I've gotten up to both
BSB and Vicar Amelia
. Repeating the same sections, re-fighting the same enemies and bosses, and having to grind getting back the vials/bullets is not fun. This game is not for me, and I think Dark Souls was a better game.

And with that I'll stop posting in a thread about a game I'm not enjoying :p

I just did coop to help with Paarl and I ended up doing all the work, I'll post vid later. It's interesting how some people are okay with getting by like that. At least it makes me happy that they're experiencing this game one way or another.

If it was MH4U I'd abandon and solo.

Co-op is basically cheating anyway.

Ok so apparently there is a cap on the maximum insights you can have...99. I used madman knowledge and it stayed at 99 :(

Im on NG+ so can someone tell me if there is anything specific i can only get with insight? like weapons or armor? Or should i just spend it on items and save my blood echoes?

I honestly dont know what to do with so much insight :\

Also i started doing chalice dungeons in NG+

Are they only 3 layers per dungeon? I finished 2 dungeons with 3 layers each. Am i in the correct path to unlocking all the chalice dungeons?

Yup, definitely wish the game had a text prompt asking about NG+. I know that the final boss is kind of obvious but I regret having done that now and being forced to start again. I just got intent on killing him after my first attempt went south and finally got him on number three...

Wishing I could go back and collect all the little things I'd missed. It wasn't much but I'm just not sure I'll have the patience to go through everything again just to try. Nor that I'd even remember the areas I was meaning to go back to later.
