Goddamnit. Anyone have any idea how to avoid (late game boss) Eb
rietas BS laser attack? Got her down to like 10% so many times until she uses that and kills me.

Oh my god, just had the most amazing invasion in
Nightmare Frontier

Dude stops to wait for me and as I approach him, monster leaps through the air and smacks him for half his health. Finished him off with the
cannon
as he stood up.

What are the best weapons that scale with skill? Started a second file, and this threaded cane is a piece of shit compared to the Axe I'm using with my primary character.

Well I'd tell you but you probably wouldn't like my answer...

Honestly, I've been through most of the game with the Threaded Cane and loved it. It was only until recently that I fell in love with the Blades of Mercy. Excellent skill weapon.

... The cane, reiterpallasch, blades of mercy. They all start out kind of shit though, you have to level skill a good bit and fortify the weapons for the scaling to actually be worth a damn.

Edit: I said chikage but that scales with bloodtinge, my b.

Take the Grand Cathedral lantern. Exit and turn left. Go all the way as far as you can, and you'll get to where you want to go. I'm in the frontier now. Halp.

Plus I dont think i can take grand cathedral lantern atm cause that raven hunter is still alive in there. Whats the name of those sweet skill dual blades I can buy after I get the raven badge

My neighbors are probably pissed again with how loud I am laughing.

I always thought "yelly alpaca," but this has proven me wrong.

I should have done my groceries yesterday, i have done a huge mistake. I am just not used to doing this, my preparations were inadequate for this game.

Saw spear is also pretty good all around weapon...

The Witch was such a disappointing boss. Was expecting some creepy shit to go down with me being abused by a barrage of magic, warts and ugly.

Instead it was the easiest boss in a souls game to date. No tactics, move set or even a vial needed. Sad really as it seems a missed opportunity.

Okay.
Darkbeast Paarl is wrecking my shit
. First boss I've had problem with. I've got a Hunter's Axe, Ludwig's Holy Sword, and a Hunter's blunderbuss.

What do I do?

Get under his shit, attack his legs, dodge his swipes. When he sticks his head under his stomach to electric burst, run away to his rear, not his front. Sneak some hits in when you stun him. When he's out of electricity, dodge his one or two swipes then chase his ass when he runs away to re-energize. When he re-energizes you can get 2-3 hits in and possibly stun him again. If you stun him, go HAM to de-energize him. Rinse and repeat. It's not easy but this is the strategy.

There are tactics and strategy. A lot of people just end up beating her without realizing she can 1-shot you. Seems the chance of getting "lucky" and just beating her before she uses all her strong moves is pretty good.

Two questions:

1) If my favorite weapon was Meat Cleaver in Demon's Soul (by far) and then Quelaag's Furysword in Dark Souls, and generally went with endurance builds (never used magic) what beginning weapon config would you guys recommend? I picked saw/pistol but only had about 10 minutes to play so would like to double check before I get back to it.

2) At the very, very beginning, at the first lantern you discover (not the one you begin at, right next to a gate that is a future shortcut) if you go to the corner you can 'talk' to a guy. However, it's just a corner with some grass. Who am I talking to? Am I missing something obvious or is there supposed to be a character standing there or something? If the answer is a spoiler, just tell me 'spoiler'... but it feels like i'm talking to the wall/grass and I'm confused.

You need to slow your roll there, sonny boy. Because Demon's Souls had a boss that was a pile of snot that barely moved, Dark Souls had a boss that literally killed itself, and Dark Souls 2 had a boss that was a room full of rats.

I just beat BSB on my second attempt and Amelia my first! BSB was a bitch to riposte with my blunderbuss but I manged to get a few with Amelia.

So far I've only needed 1 or 2 tries before defeating the first 4 bosses. This is my first "Souls" game and I feel like I'm a natural! I feel like I've been kicking ass and taking names! The battles against
other hunters
are some of the most epic moments in the game for me and I feel like they really put my skills to the test.

I'm seriously loving this game. I'm now convinced that I need to pick up DS2 on PS4 when it releases :)

Regarding 2, it's someone in the house, standing by the window. There are other people you can talk to. Hint- look for la
nterns that are lit

Or....
Blood tinged cocktail trivializes this fight as bad as Blood start beast

i fucking love this game. definitely buying DS2 now. i love the combat. i love how there's no map. i love everything about it. we need more games like this!

I love the messages people leave, some lol moments.

*walks up to message*

"beware of bird"

Steroyd: "what bird? I don't see--"

*Crow falls from sky*

!!!

Best. Asynchronous. Feature. Ever.

Also, they get a MASSIVE buff in NG+. So, there's that. Cakewalk on the first playthrough but not the second, I promise.

You should rethink that. That's like saying "I love a nice steak, so I'm gonna go on down to McDonald's right now"

Ignore him - DkS2 is a great game. Just not quite as good as the two that came before it. If you enjoyed BB, you'll definitely get a kick out of it.

One Reborn down. Whew, that entire area is easily the most insane level I have ever seen in a game. You can feel the madness. But I do have to say that it is also a giant pain in the ass to get through. Calling it a night on that one. Lecture Building tomorrow.

I had a "behind you" save my life. it was great.

on a down note, I just went from 66 insight 42 insight. be very careful later in the game.

Quess it's time for a break. Losing focus and getting killed before I even reach Amelia for another try. (Tried to pick some vials on the way. Usually just run past.)

Finally got to
the Unseen Village
. I've been here before after a jailer captured me, and I had been able to warp there via lantern previously.

Now I'm fighting
infinite spawning dudes, women ringing bells who are summoning these dudes, and Great Ones who shoot laser beams at me.

This game is insane.

The best one I've seen so far is in C

C
astle
.
Says "Nice moon" in front of a statue of a nude woman. Makes me laugh every time, just like Glorious chest ahead from Dark Souls

Got rekt by the BSB repeayedly when pretty close to 10% life...

No more antidotes, so folding for tonight.

Might have to summon help on that one, which for me would cheapen the fight. Sigh.

That or grind consumables and maybe another lvl or two...

Otoh I haven't paid a visit to the Vicar yet... Maybe I should try instead of banging my head againt the wall...

Have you ever played a Souls game? Yes somethings in BB are similar but they are 2 totally different animals. I mean I love BB and I love souls also. But dont expect the same gameplay. You can maybe expect the same sort of story telling elements and the way lore is handled

finally finished woods but then the next area ugh
soul sucking insect wtf? once he grabs you it's death

That area you're in isn't bad. It's extremely short, the bonfire is quite close. The only annoying thing is a hunter you'll run into. Be sure to open every door you see.

BSB is optional, so it wouldn't be a bad idea.

god im still so depressed.. like wtf

I WISH I COULD GO BACK ON MY SAVE FILE...

ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

:(((((((

Such an awful ending

I know this is an aspect that many people adore, but sometimes I really hate how there is a lack of a clear cut, satisfying upgrade. Just unlocked bone ash set by defeating the keeper in a chalice dungeon, and looked at the stats. What the fuck!? They're quite horrible. Even an earlier set like Gascoigne blew it out of the water with much better distribution of stats, and this is what I get for beating a stronger enemy at a latter time?

Guys, help, I don't want to miss anything! Moon is full and I'm at
Rom, but haven't beaten him (it?) yet. I think I killed all optional bosses up to this point, sent the crying woman, the old lady and the whore to the Chapel and the cannibal to Iosefka's clinic (because he deserves it). I spared Iosefka so far, but I may go back and kill her. I have 40 insight and there is some weird shit going on at the Cathedral Ward and I imagine all over.

Should I be doing anything before progressing? I remember the top door of the healing church was closed, should I go try it now? How about going back to earlier areas, speaking with NPCs again, etc? I gave the brooch to the little girl, but haven't seen her since and she's not at her home, where is she? Eileen died to the hunter fighting her at Father G's graveyard (I tried to help, but he killed her and me. May go back and get revenge.
