ive used the exploit to kill the hunter in the cathedral and now I feel like I need to shower :( so ashamed :(

Is the exploit
dragging him back to the front doors?
Stumbled across that when I was runnin...making a strategic retreat after he smoked me a few times

Quick question.....where should i send the cityfolk to....the beggar in the odean temple or the the woman in the clinic....i do not trust either of them.

For some reason I can't stop using the Hunter Axe. That's totally weird, cuz I usually play Souls games as a dex build and use smaller nimble weapons. Dat axe though, I fucking love it

Has anyone made a firearm build yet and just put a ton of echoes in Bloodtinge?

I've only got my Bloodtinge to 25 atm, but I'll be leveling it up to 50. I do, however, have my guns upgraded quite extensively.

They do not do enough damage to go Guns Only (or use too many bullets at once to do so). They're a great supplemental attack, and they will take good chunks out of enemies when you're going for parries if you invest heavily in them, but you cannot rely on them as your primary source of damage for the game.

That said, a couple of them are great for certain encounters and bosses and you can pour on some pain with them, but you'll burn all of your ammunition up in the process.

The first two do not even use Bloodtinge though. The Flamesprayer and Rosmarinus (Arcane) use Arcane for their Scaling. If leveled up and used in conjunction with Bone Marrow Ash you can put some serious hurt on enemies and bosses weak to Fire and Arcane and they are very powerful weapons.

The other gun is the Cannon. At +10 it has 600 base damage and D in Scaling for Bloodtinge. IIRC that gives it +120 at 25 Bloodtinge. If you use Bone Marrow Ash with it it will punch huge holes in bosses. Unfortunately, it uses 10 Bullets per shot which means that you are very limited in how many times you can fire it. But hey, I've hit enemies for thousands of damage with it.

With the base 20 bullets you can only fire it twice. However, if you use the D-Pad up +5 temp bullets to your advantage you can get 4 shots out of it or 5 shots if you use 2 Runes to get at least +5 more Bullets. Example: 20+5 to 15+5 to 10+5 to 5+5. That gives you exactly enough for 4 shots from it and you can put some serious hurt on a boss like that.

The rest of the guns don't hit hard enough to do anything significant to bosses, but shouldn't be neglected if you parry with them a lot. Another key thing is you really need a lot of Bone Marrow Ash to make the most of them and it's best saved for either the Cannon or Flame/Arcane Throwers on bosses.

Now, PVE aside, a leveled up gun is great for PVP - especially if the other player is wearing armor with low Blood Defense. You can do some serious harm to other people with highly upgraded guns and unloading bullets into them.

Thats a relief thanks! I'm not really feeling the saw cleaver and the hunter axe seems like a great choice. The threaded cane though... That one is awesome!

have you been in the OEdon Chapel yet? (Cathedral Ward lantern post).
There is a small door in there that lets you go up with a lift and if you follow that road you get a badge that lets you buy a very nice sword in the hunters lodge.

Progression being made, guys! 1 death, 0 items used, 14 blood vials used.

E.lvl 4, Amelia down! I will start spoiler tagging boss names from this point.

Has anyone discovered any secret walls or crystal lizards?
They aren't lizards and yes. I haven't seen walls yet, tho.

Lizards are little gray hairy dudes that run from you. An easy one yo get is Old Yharnam. As soon as you enter past the door run straight. You will see little bro trying to run off of a ledge. Chase him and run him through.

Yeah I love that they changed up the lizards.

I've got a couple of questions:

In storage, there are categories for workshop, church and vileblood weapons. Aside from their origin, are there any other differences?

What are the differences between the regular, uncanny, and lost versions of each weapon?

err...whut?
Micolash
was...what? I kept expecting the "real" boss to show up lol

Beat the game and I think I discovered most everything, except this:

In Cathedral Ward, near the bottom, there is a chest where you have to go down some stairs into a tunnel. There are a bunch of vases in that tunnel then it changes direction to small nook with the chest. On the left side of that chest is a locked door. How do you open it?
Dont think it does at all, which is super troll

I accidentally walked in on the
Shadows of Yharnam
fight. Fuck thank you FROM.

This game is way too obsessed with trying to "drop" boss fights down on the player.

Cane is the best weopen by far from the starter packs.

You are aware you can capture imgs right? Gratz though :)

Can anyone tell me what having lots of insight lets you 'see', I'm in the Forbidden Forest but haven't noticed much yet.

I don't know if it has to do with my insight but the first time I went through, I didnt trigger any trap there. didnt even know they were there.

I went back today and triggered a few traps.
spiked swinging logs

ok turns out I didn't drop all the way down in that chapel place and managed to find my way through and unlock two gates
this game is a damn maze

Had no issues with this boss. Granted I didn't do it till end of the main game but was a piece of cake. Surprised to see people having an issue honestly.

I found that it was difficult to hit safely much of the time due to its movements but it wasn't too challenging other than that.

Oh my GOD I just beat Shadows of Yharnam and holy SHIT was that intense.

Could someone please tell me where to find the possibly glitched item so I know whether or not my game is boned?

Can soneone tell me what the requirements for equipping the purchased hunter's armor is? I bought it after unlocking the first shortcut knowing that I would get destroyed by the first boss. I can't wear it and would like to know if there's something specific I have to upgrade to meet the requirements.

/edit: Nevermind, I'm an idiot. Tried to use it in the inventory...

Got the first boss down to 33% on my first try as an almost Souls virgin. Loving it so far. The combat is 100 times better than the few hours of Dark Souls that I've played.

Beat the Blood-Starved Beast finally! Bring lots of antidotes and I recommend standing close to him and dodging behind him while shooting a LOT once he starts to enrage and stand-up.

Some NPCs respond differently if you wear church based clothing.

Differences in the weapons are the gem slot types. Normally, the threaded cane has 2 radial slots and 1 triangle slot. Uncanny may have different ones or in a different order.

After VicAm fight, which way should I head to the forest?
Right out of the cathedral or to the password door?
. Any advantages to either route.

Game cleared.
True Ending.
. What a mindfuck, what a game. No words at the moment for what I just saw. Pls someone explain. I am speculating in my head but it's all going nowhere.

Yeah this game doesn't make it too obvious that you're about to walk into a boss fight. The Souls games had the fog wall at least.

I myself just walked into the W
itches
fight but fortunately it was super easy.

equip it by putting the items in the little squares directly in the [options]-key menu. Not from the big menu.

Is that the door at the Forbidden Woods lamp?

You have to open it from all the way down first
(iron gate near a small cemetery) After that you can take the elevator down from the lamp and you can just sprint but stick to the right edges of the map until you get to the small cemetery again and go through the iron gate to immediately get to the boss again.
