Halo 5 Guardians: #huntthetruth

This is what they said when releasing the concept art a year ago:

"In closing, I will leave you with this image from Sparth – an early exploration of a new location that features prominently in a little game project we’re tinkering with…."

So I'm assuming it won't just serve as an introduction or something, and we'll really play in there.

Damn son, the Infinity got wrecked! I wonder what the hell could have done something like that. Not the Covenant, surely?

Can't wait to see the second part, maybe it'll answer that in some way.

To go with that concept art, there's also a big ass ship in the sky right around the 15 second mark.

The top left of that image (about a finger widths to the left of Statue-Chiefs gun) looks way too complex to be simple cloud formations... Plus there is that single dot of light. I wonder if it is something being obscured by the smoke

Where is that Chief statue located anyways? I know about the monument they had over the where the entrance to the arc was, but not sure about this.

So doing a tiny little bit of analysis here:

- His left (our right) shoulder has some serious damage. The Mjolnir armor there has been ripped apart, looks almost like flesh damage.

- Damage scarring across his chest plate.

- He is moving his right (our left) arm and grabbing something in the rubble or just the rubble its self.

- No visible crack or damage to his helmet or visor. Either this is pre-E3 trailer or that just isn't happening... or he has a new visor.

- Possible look at what Locke's INGAME HUD could look like, I'm assuming the VFX team that worked on this shot had assets from 343 from Halo 5. There looks to be a shield and health bar; and Locke has taken damage.

So maybe all the headway humanity made in Halo 4 and since, goes tits up? That planets fucked, Infinity's fucked. Maybe it doesnt stop there. Maybe Spartan IV's get annihilated as well and become as rare as the II's and III's. And somehow, Chief gets blamed for it all. That'd explain why Locke is out to get him so bad.

Has it been questioned why, in the soundcloud on the tumblr, John was still on his home planet in sixth grade (age 13) trying to join high school boxing? Wasn't John taken at age 6 and never seen before or did I miss something in the interview?

that's the flood ship of course

I was under the assumption that they had stated the E3 trailer was more of a "Halo things are happening" statement, and not related to anything? They could totally say it and be hiding the truth but I don't think anything really has to fit with that.

Just a reminder, that this actually won't happen in-game probably.

There was no single live action trailer, that represented the actual game scene, but they were always kinda close. Don't take them too serious.

Bloody hell, how did I miss that. That said, His flash clone seemed to live a long time, they usually only had a lifespan of a year or two.

That's what he started questioning right at the end of the audio clip.

Damn. I didn't even notice that. Looks like most of his shoulder is gone.

Your'e correct, he was taken at 6. The high school boxer isn't the John we know.

I seriously hope to God gameplay is split half and half between playing as Locke and Chief.

Could you imagine how awesome it would be to hunt Chief yourself and learn more about Locke's mission and what he's been told then you switch to Chief on the run and the real story slowly unfolds... In my fucking veins.

343i needs a massive redemption too and an amazing campaign is going to help immensely.

Maybe the dude at the statue isn't actually Master Chief, but a clone. :P
