Oh my god, heart is racing, hands are shaking. Just beat
Martyr Logarius
at level 50 which I think is quite underlevelled. Ran out of viles when he was at about 25%, had to use regain a lot to survive. Finished with 89/1100 hp.

That was maybe the most intense fight I've had in this game so far (his AI glitched when I beat him on my first playthrough), except for defeating the final boss for the first time. Such a great fight, one of the best in the game.

gestures should never be in your inventory. They are in the menu you get by pressing the touchpad to the left.

Oh wow. Is there someplace where I can see all controller options? I couldn't find it in the game... I always forget to try the touchpad options... Thanks!

I think I've killed 5 VA so far while searching for the Black Church set in the Cathedral ward. Is it there or am I mistaken?

Since it's not in the OP, I'd like to mention there's a Lore thread (unmarked spoilers, read at your own risk) that will likely increase your IRL Insight to such levels that would threaten your sanity.

Not going there yet but thanks for the heads up.

I'm getting legitimately creeped out at some of the shit I'm seeing. Creatures, environments, so damn unsettling.

God, even the one new area I went to which seemed nicer at first had some of the creepiest shit. The contrast of a nicer sky and a light breeze versus the main areas threw me for a second. Made the creepy enemies worse in some way.

Some of the stuff in the game had me legit asking myself, who the fuck thinks this shit up. Dear lord.

I'm having so many fights like that in BB. The combat is so amazing at this faster pace. When you survive you feel like you truly accomplished something

yup, it's still my go-to weapon against most normal enemies and hunters.

Great thanks Lik

I actually can't stop playing this game.

I think the Chalice Dungeons are a really great idea, and the execution is mostly so-so. Probably the only thing about the game I think is lacking (that is not a technical issue) -- it just makes me want DLC episodes all the more.

Plz From, give me episodes for Bloodborne and never ever stop.

Forbidden Woods?
More like Poison Snake Tree Maze. I'm unlocking shortcuts so I guess I'm heading in the right direction, but I have no idea where I'm going and actually ended up waking in the wrong direction for a good chunk without realizing it.

It becomes even more unsettling when you begin to fathom all the implications that the lore throws out there. Stop by when you're ready and remember to read those item descriptions! They tell you so much.

Did you go through the
password door
yet? It is in an offshoot of the central graveyard area with the two Giants, before the stairs leading up to
Vicar Amelia, hopefully you've beaten her already, as touching the skull in her boss arena is what gives you the password.

Ah ok, was that what that cutscene was all about. didn't realise that was where that
password came from
Ill go there next then thanks!

Actually got coop to work yesterday and got a friend of mine in for BSB. We were sitting down my the boss entrance when we got invaded by a red phantom. I hid behind the stairs leading down to the door and my buddy turned his back to them then sat idle like he was in the menus. Sure enough, red phantom comes slowly down stairs and stops and watches my buddy. Seeing that he wasn't moving he ran, using all endurance to get to him then I pooped out from behind stairs and my friend R2 him. He was dead in about 20 seconds.

Feels good, man.

I can't figure out how to put my name on the form at least on my mobile. Does it need to be added by a mod? If so PSN = Deicides.

Any of you guys use Tempering Blood Gems on the Saw Cleaver? It's still my preferred weapon

What's your alt?

Saw Cleaver my #1 for a long time then I switch to Tonitrus/Ludwig. Tonitrus is surprisingly fast. Buff with L1 and you're doing some hard, fast hits. Durability is a little low but it's a fun, fun weapon.

#TeamTonitrus

I did that earlier at 52ish I think because I really wanted the katana. When he goes into Gwyn mode it's pretty much an invitation to start parrying although they're quite easy to fuck up tbh. I got close the first try but he did the thing where
he summons the swords
and I didn't know what to do about it. The latter half of the fight is so reminiscent of Gwyn. Must have been intentional.

So can I kill the
man in a rocking chair on brygenwerth college?

Man, it's amazing how things will just eventually click in this game. I thought I had hit a wall with BSB and was getting frustrated. I ended up just changing my strat slightly (sidestep right instead of left) and ended up whooping its ass using only 2 antidotes and I think 3 blood vials.

Then I got smushed by Amelia, but I think I just spent too much time in front of it. Will hopefully try again tonight!

Spoiler alert!
You're heading to a boss, after you pass those two pigs take the right path, you're going to unlock a shortcut, with that shortcut+door near the starting lantern you're set to face one anoying boss hahaha. Oh the left path leads to the boss,GL!

I think I've killed 5 VA so far while searching for the Black Church set in the Cathedral ward. Is it there or am I mistaken?

It's in the
back alley. The one with all the NPC windows including the prostitute - if you go through the gate you open with the 10,000 echo key, it's to the left past the flamethrower guy. Look a little closer, it took me a few runs through that alley to find it.

Was having a hard time with BSB so figured I'd run around and level a little bit. Took the whole weekend stuck on
Vicar Amelia
. When I finally beat her,I went back to try again. It felt so good this time because I had finally gotten good with the controls dying again and again with
Amelia
. I was in control the whole fight and managed some planned, not lucky visceral attacks. This game. :)

Anyone else found NG+ Cleric Beast really hard? My +10 hunter axe did nothing lol I still beat it after 3 tries but damn it seemed like he had way more health!

OT3 already lol
is there a limit to how many pages a thread has, I'm sure the MGS4 thread was over 500 pages before it got a new ot, I don't recall the Bloodborne threads reaching that high, although I'm sure it's way past it now.

Was able to call someone at the start of Old Yharnam, and with the biggest shortcut we made our way there in a minute. Killed that 3rd boss (
Blood-Starved Beast
)! Finally! =D

Hint for those who are insterested:
Pungent Blood Cocktail really helps in this fight!

Is there a shortcut there that connects the Forbidden Woods to Central Yarnham?

That was before the 20k rule came in. I think one of the Halo threads had like 100k posts in it.

400 i believe

So can I kill the
man in a rocking chair on brygenwerth college?

I did.
He left me a rune. I think it was called 'eye' but I can't remember off the top of my head.
Not sure if there's a negative consequence later though.

I'm sure you could if you wanted to, but is it only because it looks like a dead end? There's a boss nearby...

I killed him, not sure if i screwed something for the future history, well shit...to bad now, I also killed that creepy guy at cathedral that is near the lantern.

Sure will, thx!

I've been reading item descriptions and that isn't helping the creepy factor either. Oh, Red Jelly, what's that? *reads description and sees bigger pic* HOLY HELL.

I had something partially spoiled in here but that's what really got me thinking. The things that have been said, the names of places even. It has me questioning everything but I'm absolutely loving the game far, far more than I thought I would. The combat, the environments, the enemies, the story as it's unfolding, the lore. Game has surpassed expectations for me (although I tried to keep it in check, stayed out of the pre launch threads and was on media blackout).

I have a question. This was in the area after the 2nd boss, the place with
the guy shooting down from the tower.
I ran down and found a ladder going up. Then, out of the corner of my eye I see someone running up and down the stairs. I thought maybe it was a bugged NPC, but when I got over there I wasn't sure what was going on. They acted and looked as if
it was another player
. We swatted at each other a few times
and he backed off.
I healed up and climbed up the ladder a bit. I watched him running around down there for a while before carrying on
and quickly dying to the guy on top of the tower.

I've never rung a bell, but I do play "online". I don't recall seeing a message that I had been invaded.
Was I or this just some weird part of the game?

Lol!!!!!!!

I took down BSB this morning before work.

Thank you rifle spear switch parry. That was an incredible fight.

My first Souls game. I'm 33 years old and this is the first game to give me a sense of adventure, mystery, and wonderment since FFXI (my first MMO) and before that, the 3d Zelda games. I have played a good games, cinematic games, but nothing like this. Something that captures your imagination.

So can I kill the
man in a rocking chair on brygenwerth college?

Yes, you can, and you need to to get all the runes.
He gives the high-level version of the EYE rune, which improves item discovery.

I did.

There are none.
