there are some enemies here that look like a bunch of corpses on a box that can one hit kill me and is there anyway to lure the

Never played one in the series before and made the mistake of starting out with the axe. I speant 3 hours trying to get to the second checkpoint. I started a new file and used the saw blade and got to the boss on my first try. Can't beat him though.

Any tips for this game for newcomers?
