Halo 5 Guardians: #huntthetruth

Disagree 100%

Okay, I get how you could like the BR (though I still hate it), but the FOV and movement speed really do suck.

Adding randomness to a weapon doesn't equal balance. All they needed to do was tighten the spread, lower aim assist/bullet magnetism. Making the strafing quick and responsive instead of sluggish would have helped out too.

They're doing this with Halo 5. I'm optimistic.

I never experienced "randomness". And im serious. Ive played Halo 3 since 07, on 360 and Xbone. And i never had a problem with the BR. I liked it that way. And yes i played H2 before that too.

Personally i cant stand this Hitscan mechanic in H2,H2A,Reach,H4 and H5 without any spread etc... It makes every fight so easy.

Which is nice to hear. But, I'm still not a fan of sprint nor will I ever be. It just doesn't work in Halo in my opinion. Halo is best played as a medium paced arena shooter.

It hasn't worked previously, but I do think it worked... fairly well in the beta. The disadvantages they incorporated (shield recharge delayed while sprinting, getting shot in the first ~2 seconds takes you out of it) did a lot to discourage overuse, and the maps held up pretty well.

Eventhough I love halo 3 I agree the game feels awfully slow because of the FOV and the movement is so muddy.

The BR never felt bad to me in H3.

This has been discussed to death in probably every community, but for me the question is if you want the game putting bullets where you aren't aiming.

I would go with no. If you want "harder" battles, reduce the aim assist, don't take agency away from the players by introducing randomness.

Shooting has always been easy in Halo, out strafing and out monuvering your opponent is what has always seperated the great players for the mediocre players. I like projectile weapons better since I started with Halo CE. But I understand the need for hitscan weapons; they work much better than online.

I played the beta and yes the ways they implemented to discourage sprint abusing did help. Sprinting just has too many negative effects to map design (making them larger than normal) and movement speed (slower walking speed, less responsive strafing) for me to like it. But, to each their own.

I didn't used to think the Halo 3 BR was random, just assumed I was experiencing a lot of lag at the time, now I'm not so sure. Sometimes the BR had a lot more range than a lot of people expected. I don't mind sprint, but I really like the idea of a faster base movement to make strafing more useful and less aim assist. The halo 5 beta felt really good to me, so if they just keep polishing that I know I'm going to really enjoy what they have on offer and now I'm curious where they are going with the campaign. One thing I thought they did well in 4 was making the movement feel powerful and glad to see they seem to iterate on that.

There were a few misfires with the story in 4, but I like some of what they were laying out and would like to see them pull out something cool here. If nothing else I'm liking the tone so far.

I'm hoping for levels in the Halo-Tsavo Highway size range. Big, lots of approaches, choose how to approach your objective, but not actually open world.

Halo goes open world

I couldn't imagine Master Chief doing side activities that would be necessary in an open world game, he's no errand boy. Though I would be pretty hyped if it is open world. Though I'm thinking it's more along the lines of the scarab battle from The Covenant in Halo 3. Which would also be great.

Exactly what halo 5 is doing...aim assist is way, way down from previous halo games like 4 and 2

Frankie already clarified. Cortana has to do with the story but won't necessarily appear. I mean, she's not going to be just brushed under the rug. Can someone post the Frankie post? People are freaking out for no reason.

When Bonnie Ross says:

I wonder what she means by "sheer size of the worlds." It would be very easy to take that out of context, but I hope it means what I think it means :).
