There is hidden walls in chalice dungeon, there are some videos uploaded to prove it, and it triggers like how the Demon/Dark souls game is, hitting the wall

I didnt say I didnt believe there were, I was asking how to activate them :)

Will the update fix the that bug that makes the bosses stuck doing the same move over and over again? I finished the games 3 times already and couldn't help but to notice it.

Holy crap, so you can group up NG with NG+ coop. I went to try and see if I could help a few people with
Paarl
, so I rang my bell and got summoned by someone with the Burial Blade, which can only be obtained
in NG+
, so I knew I was in for some shit. Anyway, the boss had a ton of health and we eventually downed him and I got something like 65k+ Echoes for helping. So it seems if you are near end game you can probably go back to some of the beginning bosses and help people in NG+. Cool shit.

really? I wonder if it's just based on your level and not game mode then.

I think the early version was actually a lot harder. lol

Well at that point in the game anyway.

When you get there in the 20's yes. Not much more to do than perhaps cheesing the stairs.
But once I had done VA, Hemwick, and was basically ready for the Forest I took everyone on fair and square and I loved the whole area, music and atmosphere. Most eerie place and the fact it has this 'you shouldn't be here yet' vibe going on as natural progress directs you somewhere else first. Was always prepared for a one shot defeat. The sack enemies are cool too and those hags freak me out. DBP still gave me trouble at 50, love that boss.

Have the option of opening the door in
Upper Cathedral
or going ahead with the story. Gonna go with the former.

The best feeling! Finished that area last night. WHAT A RELIEF!
I held off on doing this area since Sunday. Wasn't sure if I was prepared. Everything went great till TOR.

Gratz man, that place is literally a nightmare for everyone.
I'm just glad to be done with it.

I haven't encountered any of this in that place.
And I've been exploring it a couple times.
The One Reborn is a story boss while the bell witches are just a major pain in the ass with their abilities to resurrect enemies.

...I found the next area more annoying. Enjoy! :P
Wait, are you talking about the
building ahead of the Advent Plaza lamp post
?

are you talking about Chalice. is this like getting the Flawless trophy in Destiny?
not a Chalice Dungeon.
Yahar'gul
is the
Unseen Village.
definitely not like getting flawless. It's just the place is a major pain in the ass.

So where the hell is E
ileen
the C
row
? I'm already at the V

A

fight and I have not yet met her.

If you haven't met her yet you're not going to like it when you meet her.

spoilers if you want to know what happens:
after an upcoming boss battle, Eileen will be in the Grand Cathedral. She is not happy with you. You'll know something is up because you will not be able to teleport to that lamp. Prepare for a nasty fight.

If it wasn't for that I wouldn't have beaten Logarius, real talk.

:****(. Man the PVP professionalism is really sad in this game ds2 for the most part in my over 100 hours of pvp ing was awesome almost No one fucking healed and healed and when someone else came in the game they waited for the winner of the first battle...

Just fought someone who healed about 15 times then the other dude came in and just double teamed me I never healed once. Smh

Gaf be meh friend.... Psn ne0ism- 0 =zero

Personally, this is my first souls game and I have no clue what the rules were or should be. My guess is a lot of people are in that boat.

You first meet Eileen in the aqueducts of Central Yharnam, I believe. After that she appears in the Cathedral Ward; from the lamp there, go into the courtyard straight ahead, and turn left.

She's originally fairly early in the game. Do you remember an area in the city with dog cages you pass by? It leads to the sewer-ish area afterwards, where there's a bunch of stuff you can roll through. This uncoveres a passage you can go through where she should be.

I'm not sure when she moves though, so I'm not sure if she'll still be there.

I guess I'll try going back and looking for her.

Damn it!!

I had the Blood Starved Beast down to a sliver of health three times in a row, and didn't notice I had been poisoned. Dead. Now my Fire paper and cocktails are all used up. Fuck, he's gonna suck to beat now.

I've now killed five bosses, last one being S

Beginner's Guide to Starting Chalice Dungeons

Alright, I've never done something like this, but I'll try to keep it concise and to the point for anyone asking questions about chalice dungeons. If I miss anything important, and I probably will, let me know. Please don't laugh at my pitiful attempt.

What are Chalice Dungeons?

Chalice Dungeons are optional content you can start doing as soon as you receive your first from the
Blood-starved Beast
. I would recommend starting them as soon as you can, because if you wait until end game, you will end up going through the earlier depth dungeons at a much higher level than intended.

Chalice Dungeons come in several forms: Standard, Root, Sinister, and Defiled.

Standard dungeons can be thought of as the "story" portion of the content. You will need to do these first to obtain better chalices and progress. These are pre-made dungeons by the devs that always have the same loot and bosses.

Root dungeons are randomized in layout, loot, and bosses. This is where you will find things such as uncanny weapons, runes, and powerful gems.

Sinister dungeons are a variant of root dungeons. These dungeons contain bell maidens that summon other players to invade your dungeon. IIRC, these must be purchased inside a standard dungeon of the same depth.

Defiled, well, I think there is only the one, and it is required that you do it while progressing. This cuts your HP in half, and is in my opinion, the most challenging.

In addition, the higher level chalices will require materials that you need to gather inside specific chalices. Eventually, you will be able to purchase most of these through the insight vendor. There are also additional rites that require rare materials found in chalice dungeons. These basically make the dungeon more difficult by spawning certain enemy types or buffing them in some sort of way. I believe the purpose is for better loot, because these enemies generally drop high level gems.

How do I start?

Simply go to any altar and choose to create a chalice. You will also be able to use other players codes at an altar to enter their chalice. You can remove these from your altars at any time, so you have plenty of room to store several favorites if you like sharing. Don't bother sharing standard dungeons, though, as these are the same for everyone.

When inside, your goal is to find lever on each layer to delve deeper. Sometimes in the hallway between layers, you will find a side dungeon. These side dungeons are generally more lucrative, and you will want to do them for the materials that you can find inside chests, especially in Root dungeons. Each layer ends with a boss, and the first 2 are usually pretty easy. Sometimes, the dungeons can go up to 4 layers, with 4 bosses.

Watch out for illusory walls. You will notice some walls seem out of place, and you can attack them to reveal the illusion. You can leave at any point, and your progress is always saved. You won't have to redo bosses, but enemies will respawn.

Why Do Chalice Dungeons?

There are several reasons I would recommend doing them.

1. Some of the best, and most challenging bosses, only appear in there, especially the final boss.
2. Uncanny and lost weapons.
3. HIgh level gems.
4. High level runes.
5. Key Items you can use in the main game,
for example, a ring that allows you to propose to the Vileblood Queen.
6. Apparently NPC's are inside, so if you like lore stuff there's that.
I've seen spider-patches inside and talked to him.
7. Well, I think it's fun.

Common Questions

How do I use the Makeshift Altar and what is it for? You need a key item to use it from I believe, Hintertomb Depth 3. It's for quick searching co-op and pvp in chalice dungeons, and also for finding a random dungeon for you to do.

What is depth? Depth is like a tier of difficulty. D1 is very easy, and D2 is not much more difficult. D3 ramps it up a bit to about level 60ish I'd say at the very least. D4 is about NG+ and D5 is a bit higher than that.

How do I get X Chalice? 3 of them are from the main story, and they drop from these bosses:
Blood-starved Beast, Ebreitas, and Amygdala.
The first Hintertomb chalice is looted in Pthumeru Depth 2. Any other chalice will come from progressing through the "story".

What is the difference between uncanny, lost and normal weapons? They have different gem slots.

What happens to my chalice dungeons when I start NG+? Nothing. They will remain as they were and you will lose nothing. Think of them are being completely separate from the main game.

I tried to use a chalice glyph but it says I don't meet the requirements, what do? You need to create and finish the dungeon type you are searching for first before you can join another. I don't think you need to finish Root dungeons to join random ones.

Imo this should go in the OT.

Beat
The One Reborn
and now I have no fucking idea what's going on.

Explored the lecture building then ended up in
The Nightmare of Mensis
and suddenly feel way under levelled at 65.

Patch Notes

Version 1.02
-Fixes the issue of not being able to obtain the "Lunarium Key" once the user partakes in online multiplayer as a co-operative guest by using the "Small Resonant Bell" or as a hostile guest by using the "Sinister Resonant Bell" in the area, "Forbidden Woods".
-Bug fixes

Parry -> V.Atk, Repeat. Can easily do that with nearly every single Hunter you fight.

I can't find a video on how to parry him. It's either people cheesing it like with Father G or
fighting alongside Eileen.
.
This is the only hunter so far I can't see myself beating so soon..

I dont get why. I did ng+ then loaded my ng normal save for pvp.
NG+ just didnt seem that fun after ds2 had it as a completely diff game mechanically >.>

Yeah TBH I'm not feeling NG+ that much. Also a bit annoying how the drops for upgrade materials work as I'm STILL using this axe, lol.

Damn it!!

I had the Blood Starved Beast down to a sliver of health three times in a row, and didn't notice I had been poisoned. Dead. Now my Fire paper and cocktails are all used up. Fuck, he's gonna suck to beat now.

Just side step the crap out of his attacks. I found I was losing most of my endurance side stepping and not even attacking. He's not that bad. But yes, you have to watch for the poison and have antidote. I think there is an antidote behind the alter he is guarding. You'll get it. Don't give up.

My fight with DBP went better than the one with TOR. One-shotted the former in under a minute and a half(God bless this +9 Ludwig!) while it took 3 attempts and multiple vials to take down the latter. Bastard surprised me with one of his attacks in the first attempt while in the second attempt, I got stuck and he ended up having a swift unearned victory.

You could run most of the time :D
I'm a Hunter not a coward! They should fear me not the other way around!
:P

The feels, they are good.

Congrats.
Thanks!
Took a few hours but I'm finally done with that place.

I think I may be the only person who enjoyed this zone. I actually really liked it.
I think you may be...

I'm going there next.

Thanks to this thread, I'm prepared to basically run past everyone.

Grab loot and run!
I'm just gonna say good luck, hunter.

You should be able to do it at that point. I did it also. Though I've beaten slightly more but story wise i'm not further.

Talk to her more than once. It should work.

Or you could attempt to glitch him at the wall, corner it and it might eventually jump out of the foreground and then die. Happened twice in my playthrough. It was hilarious

I guess I'll try going back and looking for her.
You might be at a point where she'll fight you and try to attack you (maybe in the Grand Cathedral), but you can still get her costume by killing her for her badge, I think. The costume is the main reason her quest is desirable. Dat beak and dem crowfeathers.

If you haven't met her yet you're not going to like it when you meet her.

I've never actually
met her (in my two playthtoughs), and there has never been anyone in the grand cathedral at any point of the game. There must be some other condition to get her to spawn there.

Just beat
Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos
. Definitely one of the more difficult bosses I've fought in the game. She's easy until you get her health about 2/3 down, and then the fight becomes a bit of a clusterfuck.

I beat her quite comfortably in the end, though. Only used a couple of vials.

Do I have to get the rune tool again in NG+?
No.

I missed that boss in my first playthrough, hopefully its not a lot harder in NG+ :\

If the game lets you heal, it is fair game to heal. If you set up a fight club with known rules that's fine, but in random invasions expecting people to follow rules that the game itself doesn't enforce is just asking to be irritated.

Man does it feel like I just fell through this game in the last half. And that's even after beating all the optional bosses and taking down the hunters. I guess this is a more slight experience than DS 1 and 2 even past being more experienced, kind of like the feeling I got when I finished DeS. Like I was expecting one more area by the time it was over.
