Bloodborne |OT3| I Cane, I Saw, I Conqu- YOU DIED

I have a couple of questions.

1. What do you do with the
dead spider in the room where you fought Eberitas?
2. Where is the blood rock?

Both
Paarl and the nightmare are optional. If you want to continue you gotta beat Rom
1. Put the Queen's flesh on there if you have Alfred kill her.
2. Nightmare Mensis - too hard to explain, just YouTube a vid

It's the deflecting bullets and spamming the
sword cloud
that is getting irritating.

You can stop him from ever being able to deflect anything. You have to land a charged attack from behind as he charges up his buff. He gives you plenty of time to do it, too. Once you've interrupted it, he'll remain open to guns, parries and backstabs.

Sword cloud is easy to deal with, too. If you're locked onto the boss, you can flick the right stick in the direction of the grounded sword to lock onto that instead and shoot it. 1 hit and it's gone, no more cloud. You may end up using blood bullets and burning through vials, but the cunt requires those sorts of desperate measures :)

How does summoning work in Chalice dungeons? Does someone have to have joined my actual instance using my glyph? Or can they join me from their own? Example, say I do a ritual and make my dungeon, and then ring my beckoning bell. Someone else did their own ritual and joins their dungeon (same chalice + depth though) and rings his resonant bell. Will we find each other? Or does he have to use *my* dungeon?

It sucks how confusing the multiplayer aspect is. I wish they would just let us invite people from our friends' list. This is one area where I actually think it would better to compromise the immersion of the game in favor of making things friendly for the player. The use case of "I want to do chalice dungeons with my friends" should have been #1.

And why can't I summon anyone ? Is it because I am too low for
Byrgenwerth
, level 48 or is the online just fucked up. I need help with that fucking boss.

You can ressurect a certain dead npc.

More specific spoiler.

The queen annalise. If alfred kill her and you inspect her remains you find a queenly flesh. Use it on the altar. This way you can complete alfred's quest and still keep the queen alive.

Question about covenants

I joined the vileblood covenant, and apparently this makes you automatically hostile to people you summon if they're aligned with the opposing covenant? So if I summon/get summoned by someone from that covenant, we'll have to fight each other? if so, can i leave this covenant? because that actually sounds really annoying

Just finished most of
Mensis Nightmare
. Holy shit, is this place nuts.
These crows O.O

Didn't take the elevator after the
weird woman in white you briefly see after beating Rom.

How much story is left for me at this point? Don't wanna stumble upon the ending like some people seem to have already.

Now at a crosspoint where I have acces to a couple of lategame bosses,
Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos
& M
artyr Logarius
. I've got the former down to an inch, will work on that. Latter one is pretty difficult to tackle so far.

Also roaming through the N
ightmare
of M
ensis
-zone which is the last one to my understanding. Pretty tough to even get in the castle. Those s
piders
are wrecking me.
So... yeah, my sense of progression pretty much slowed down to a halt, but I will probably farm a bit to upgrade weapons and level further. Really want to see the ending.

Unequip the rune and you shouldn't have to fight anyone.

Make it past the
spiders and Nightmare of Mensis is a piece of cake.

ok got my 15 arcane so I can use the shell. Im happy because ill finally have a use for bullets, not being able to pick them up because my storage was full was getting old >_<

Go through the door by the woman in white, kill the boss there, you're at the point of no return. Note I said *at*, not *after*. You'll still be able to finish any optional stuff you want.

Oh no fucking way: My gamed crashed, so I restarted my PS4, installed the new patch. But now I cant boot up the game. PS4 did a rebuild database

Im getting the following message: GAME INSTALL INCOMPLETE, CANNOT LOAD Save Data

HELP?!

Where do I go after beating
The One Reborn
I'm in
Mergo's Loft
at the base lamplight but all the devices are inoperable.

R
om
? He is all about just avoiding the
spiders
and the
meteors
and going just for him. MAybe you can summon me. Do you have a passwort set up?

Miyazaki was very angry when he designed these last few areas, holy shit they are brutal.

Thanks, but I actually want to kill it alone. It's so damn frustrating to get one hit or staggered and killed. The boss kinda feels like a gearcheck.

Ah okay. Great. Good thing I just took the shortcut elevator down then and got the hell out. :P

Still hardly did any Chalice dungeons.

Disagree.
It's trivial to kill the spiders and it makes it much easier when you don't have 30 spiders each with the potential to knock out half your health in one hit.

A few questions, GAF:

1. Is there an established "soul level" that the community has leant towards?

2. I just took out the
Shadows
, have all the required bosses before then dealt with (
Paarl
included) and am at level 55, give or take. Over-levelled? Under-levelled? What say you?

Many thanks.

I was in my 50's around then too.

I've been looking in every nook and cranny and seen nothing like this. Probably not far enough yet.

You were a few feet away. Right after that fountain area is an area with a shortcut.

The One Reborn

From the first lamp take the left path past some monsters and giants. You'll get to a big door. That's your path. I recommend getting some Frenzy resistance and just run to the door.

Whoa, Rom. That was fun.

Holy shit at the next area.
Reaching the unseen village, lighting that first lamp, looking at the vista and realizing there are FUCKING OLD ONES climbing up buildings.

Any tips for what to tackle next? I've beaten
Cleric Beast, Father G, BSB, Amelia, Hemwick Witches, Shadow guys and found that castle beginning with a B.
Should I carry on where I am or have I missed out some optional stuff?

Also the game seems pretty easy right about now. I killed the last 4 bosses in a row without dying once and it would have been a fifth but that
fiery dog beast
from the third layer of the first chalice dungeon put an end to that.

Thanks, but I actually want to kill it alone. It's so damn frustrating to get one hit or staggered and killed.

Went in with lvl 63 and Ludwig's +6. I did around 260 dmg with L2 heavy attack. Get to Rom from the side, avoiding all spiders and get 2-3 hits, then get back. After around 50 % he does some more defense when you hit him, so better get just one hit and get back. Then survive the meteors. Maybe you really need some lvl more on you chest.

Yea, not far enough. It sounds like the guy that killed you was shortly after the large bonfire at the beginning? spoiler to unlock the shortcut:
Instead of going into that courtyard with the fountain after the bonfire, go straight and to the left. There's a bunch of boxes there you can break.

Well PvP people are thinking 100-110

Is there a way to repair the bonfire
Hypogeab Gaol in Yahar'gul, Village?
also what am I meant to do with the bodies in
craters throughout the streets?

Here's a new interview with Miyazaki. There's some rare glimpses into his childhood through his early days at From. Great read!

http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2015/mar/31/bloodborne-dark-souls-creator-hidetaka-miyazaki-interview

That was great. The last part gave me some good laughs:

But he’s taken inspiration from closer to home, too. “Now I’m president,” he says, “I get to meet a lot of other company presidents. They’re such weird people. I’m fascinated by them.” With a smile, he adds: “I use some of them as enemy characters in our games.”

LOOOOOOOOOL

Okay, so I've been thinking about this, and I'm pretty sure anyone who thinks this game is darker or bleaker than Dark Souls doesn't understand either. Either that or I really don't understand Bloodborne yet.

But as far as I can tell there's not a clear cut "theme" of Bloodborne, there's a few things going around. Just off the top of my head...
1. Facing your Nightmares
2. The danger of knowledge
3. Life must pay for life
4. The balance between good and evil (hunter vs beast)
Umm now maybe I'm missing one, but only one of those is particularly depressing to me, and one of them (which I would consider is the most prominent with all of the dream imagery) is downright hopeful.

Compare that to Dark Souls' theme which is basically all about fire and what it represents. Everything must end, everything will be destroyed eventually. Anything that happens in the mean time will unavoidably lead to that end. Everything is futile in the grand scheme of things. The "good" ending of Dark Souls only has you slightly delay the inevitable (at a great cost), and you see through the story (and the bosses you kill) that everything gets ruined.

Now maybe it's me, like I said, but that's about as bleak as you can get. More disturbing/freaky stuff happens in Bloodborne, but that's part of the Nightmare, and you can always kill those creatures that frighten you. You can't kill time in Dark Souls, and you can't stop the inevitable.

And I mean of course that isn't a bad thing that it's not more depressing lol.

Damn it. I was in the area with the blood rock but but I had run out of sedatives so I just ran through as fast as I could and missed the area I was supposed to drop to >.<
