Generally speaking, you want to bait her to make that jump attack when you are a good distance away from her for quick and easy multiple hits (dodge to the RIGHT, not to the left)... get ready to rush in if she heals herself though. She did it once with me and that move was nasty... thankfully she did it only once and Ludwig's Holy Blade did a wonderful job of chipping that health back down.

Yeah, generally speaking dodge to the right side, IIRC. Bring flamethrower, it'll help. And of course fire paper. Molotovs is ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........ it's hard to aim with them sometimes and they prone to miss :/

I'll help you out if I am not at the office right now, haha.

Get Ludwig's Holy Blade man! It'll help tremendously.

I got Ludwig's blade and I get her to half her health...but that regen tho. the ludwig's strikes are relatively slow (one hand mode) and she fills her meter up. And dang, I lose 20 blood vials every fight! I go farm for more in Yharnam every time I die lol. That executioner troll always drops 3-4 vials.

also checked on
the old guy in wheelchair at Moonside Lake
and he does the exact same thing even after you beat the boss. i decided to just gank him and get his rune, lol
Any drawback to ganking that guy? I usually don't advocate killing helpless dudes who point at lakes, but he -does- have a rune, so...

When he flops up, he's going to rain down meteors. If you lock onto Rom, you can keep dodging left or right to avoid all of the meteors (or at least most of them).

Tried every goddamn maneuver I could think of, and every single one would end up with me getting crushed by those friggin meteorites. I was actually able to beat Rom during a run where I just ran around like an idiot when he summoned the meteorites.

Beat BSB on my third try tonight and my heart was pounding god damn.

This is the first fight where I really feel like I had to break out of my previous Souls habits. Pure aggression was key here
spent the first 2 tries backing off to avoid hits, but I took WAY less damage and destroyed him when I instead constantly dodged toward him and his attacks.

I guess the patched fixed online? I easily found two people doing
vicar amelia
and finally beat it. Before was lucky if it found 1 person after 10 minutes.

So one thing I've noticed is that enemies stop dropping vials as you go deeper into the game. I had a stack of 99 in the bank and slowly used them all, that lasted me about 20 hours. So even if you aren't usind them excessively, eventually we are supposed to farm them?

Am I the only one that
Killed Eileen after she gave me her badge and the covenant rune? She was gonna die anyways and at least this way her echoes didn't go to waste.

God, why can't we rebind jump to L3 just like in dark souls 2??

Trying to reach abandoned workshop

Walk onto the little platform, turn left and drop onto the platform down below (heal up 1st), then heal again, drop down to the door.
Simple ;p.

As far as I can tell he literally does nothing the entire game, lol.

yea, i read it doesn't really affect anything from what is currently known. kinda funny considering how important they make out some of these NPCs to be.

i'm gonna kill some more before i end the game. maybe the dude in Cathedral Ward cuz he's fucking useless.

I've unlocked the first chalice dungeon using the chalice found on the
Blood-Soaked Beast
, but haven't really bothered to try them. Is it worthwhile?

Some good loot can spawn in them. I got an Uncanny Saw Cleaver from one Redditor's dungeon, and lots of gems in most of them. Some rare stuff like Blood Rock has also been found in them. Yosp's dungeon gave me tons of Bullets, no weapons though.

Here's a subreddit listing some user created dungeons and the loot they contain: http://www.reddit.com/r/chalicequest

The best thing I got was an armor set from a boss,
Bone Ash Set
. It is so fucking badass.

Well, if you're still can't get past her for like, the next 7-8 hours, tell me, and I'll help you beat her up, hahaha.

Yeah, that level will be fine. It's more about spacing. I didn't use bolt paper but I hear that helps A LOT. Applies electrical power to your weapon, which is Rom's weakness. I think you may have some in your inventory at that point.

At any rate, just run in, hit Rom a couple times, and roll out. Don't attack the minions, but constantly zigzag and roll in and out to avoid them.

When Rom rolls on his back, he's doing his energy attack where energy comes out of the ground. Hug him tight and it'll miss you.

Thanks for the tips. Yeah, I've picked up on the tell, so I know it's coming but I'm still having trouble avoiding it. Rolling doesn't seem to do the trick. I can tell changing directions quickly while running helps so maybe 45-90 degree turns will help. Either way, it's a pain for me right now; saving it until tomorrow.

Already burned through my bolt paper, but I'll try to grab some more.

Hey guys, quick question. After you defeat
Ebrietas, Daughter of Chaos there is an alter. When you mess with it the only option is "do nothing". I assume this has a greater purpose than that?

I'm still in NG. How much do you need to upgrade the cannon to start wrecking shit?

I don't know, a good bit. It starts at 200 base damage with a low E scaling. It ends up with a base of 600 damage and a high D scaling. At +10 with 25 Bloodtinge it has a bonus damage of +120. Not 100% sure how high it will be with 50, but I think it'll be about +200. Unfortunately it doesn't have a Gem slot, so no +Blood ATK Gem. Bone Marrow Ash is pretty key for it as it like at least doubles the damage per shot.

At +9 it's 560 base and that's really easy to get a weapon to, so it's not hard to get it high enough to do a ton of damage.

It's so doing one sidequest doesn't screw you out of another.

Question: I've explored pretty much every nook and cranny in central yharnam near the Cleric Beast. I got to near where I think the second boss is and didn't go any further. So I've been everywhere else as far as I know. How much of the games world have I explored roughly? I feel like I've seen like maybe a third?

The Gatling gun sequence was really exciting and it was a fun set piece. Just wish there was more stuff like it. I don't think I'm overselling Dark Souls at all, it just took a lot more care in presenting a believable world.

And I'll do the chalice dungeons because of the bosses but random generation is awful and the few layers I played were completely unappealing atmospherically. Nice bricks though!

come on man..great game but play it again..you go from undead berg to a forest that turns into night time when you enter the area and near that undead berg is a damn city that is under water. then right next to that is is blight town a few yards away that happens to have an underground magma world not too far from it. It was a great game but everything was so close together. Bloodborne is more believable ( city, forest, castle, etc)..

you can resurrect another NPC with it.
not gonna spoil who for you.

I do not like fighting
The One Reborn.
what a crock of shit that fight is.

Any advice? Also, how far(ish) am I through the game?

Less than a third.

A third?!? Of the whole game? Closer to 1%.

Can someone explain frenzy? 40 hours in and I still don't get this shit. Seems like a bullshit mechanic, get tapped by blood and watch the meter go up and deal 80% of my health.

Damn, the N
ightmare frontier
area is so creepy, especially the walking B
rain
. Also, A
mydala
is a pain, should I focus only on its head and arms?

When I say everywhere near the Cleric Beast, I mean like..
I've been past the dog cages, found the first friendly NPC, found that ginormous boar in an underground tunnel and got to the bit in the sewers where you get ambushed by a man-beast at the end. That must be a decent chunk?

Frenzy works by LOS of the enemy that's inflicting it. There's a delay on it ending even if you get out of LOS.

Arms, do enough damage to them and then he'll lower his head for a free visceral. Just gotta keep bashing his arms, hitting the legs is pointless.
