Fire Emblem If (2 versions: ¥4700 game, ¥1852 other ver content DLC, ¥1852 3rd DLC)

NA Direct doesn't even hint at 2 versions. I assume they're not splitting the game for US.

Also my heart says I should be in Team Nohr, but I don't want to be another Slaine/Suzaku :/

I'm reading 4700 yen per campaign, 1852 for each campaign separately as a discount for purchasing one, and all 3 are bundled as a special package for 9250 yen.

I really doubt these will be released together in the US I'd they're charging this much for the Japanese version.

jesus christ! That's a $100 Fire Emblem game! JPN gamers gonna get reamed :T

I guess they're still experimenting with trying to broaden the casual audience while digging into the hardcore based on the wording. But christ, if they pull this in the west, it won't work. FE doesn't have enough appeal.

This is pretty dumb. Let's reward the fans by having them buy the two games and the extra storyline. Nintendo's milking of fan is fairly apparent this gen.

The real question is do I play as the very fucking awesome Female design, or is my desire to be called onii-chan greater than that?

The struggle is real.
... you have caused a great rift within me... probably going male if marriage is a thing again.

At least we know 3DS will still get content in 2016, not like I had any doubt, I'm sure some people did. Game looks legit amazing, and the idea is perfect for FE.

I still hope marriage and kids aren't a thing in this FE anymore. It is what is keeping me on the fence about FEIF.
Most of the FE main characters are bland as hell anyway so I don't really care about it being a created character.

Chrom was so lame he didn't even get to be playable in Smash.
I agree Chrom was lame, but Ike and Lyndis were great.

Yeah. We still get a Pokémon game in 2016, since there is nothing announced for 2015. 3DS lives... for a while.

I'm genuinely curious here, I love Nintendo as much as I can love non family, but why does Nintendo get a free pass here? It basically destroys a lot of the replay value with something that should be in the base game. Same thing with Pokemon, why people buy two EXACT same versions with minor changes in (legendary) Pokemon really baffles my mind. And I've seen a lot of very questionable amiibo usage as well.

Why yes, you can choose between the peace loving Hoshido and the ambitious, racist, baby killing, evil Nohr.
=/
I'm ready to kill babies

Ok, after watching both the EU and US videos again the US one makes it very clear that your route is decided by your choices, the EU version is worded the same HOWEVER the one difference I noticed is that at the point where the screen splits to black and white on the EU stream it says Fire Emblem Hoshido and Fire Emblem Nohr but on the US one it just says Hoshido and Nohr instead.

This is what we got on the EU stream:

So yeah, confusing mess pretty much sums this up. JP stream says two games, US game implies one game, EU stream implies one game but could also imply two games.

And after that, we got this:

(Translation: Fire Emblem (tentative title), Available 2016
"The new Fire Emblem game for Nintendo 3DS is planned to release in 2016 in Europe.")

Again, everything points to one version right now. That might change, certainly, but right now, one game is what they announced.

Okay, I thought logically about this:

Nintendo shouldn't be stupid enough to release an already niche game in the West which existence was hanging by a thread if Awakening flopped into a game separated into two with a THIRD path through DLC.

I hope they use sense and combine all three.

Two different playthroughs!

Fire Emblem is still way more popular in Japan than the rest of the world, I don't think they will follow through with that pricing model in the west.

I mean they already had two different routes in Sacred Stones. In one game.

I guess they want to scam more money from gullible fans.

This sounds like much more divergent than the split routes in SS though, since you have to choose between enemy armies, rather than just splitting the army for a few chapters.

NO, Nintendo AIN'T stupid.
They ALREADY released FINAL COMPLETE VERSION of Fantasy Life and bravely default in the WEST.

Chills guys.

Fantasy Life and Bravely default were released both has "complet" version.

Fantasy Life wasn't.
You had to buy the DLC separately.
In Japan, Fantasy Life Link was available for the same price as Fantasy Life (during its launch), which was the complete version.
Outside of Japan, we got Fantasy Life Link, technically, but they locked away the content, and we had to pay to unlock it.

Oh, they definitely are.

I'd be willing to buy the game and if the third path was DLC I'd probably buy it.

But having the alt path as DLC or a separate game I'm growing less keen on that by the minute.

Even though I buy both versions of Pokemon games lol at least then I can trade with myself and get all legendaries and play the story twice.

That doesn't justify splitting it into two $40 games.

Also few =/= six.

So three storylines

1. Join one side of the war
2. Join other side of the war
3. Fuck both of them. Beat them both to submission awww yisss

This game is so SMT IV.

3 routes (Law, Chaos, Neutral/True).
White and black logo.
Also the setting smells familiar.

2016 is too far away. :(

So you choose between extremely similar groups of protagonists, with one being Japan and one being Europe, only FE-ized. Japan team looks awesome. I prefer almost all of their designs to the other, except for the lead character.

This entire game looks great.

Fucking terrible. If this is a party member, I am letting her die as soon as possible. And some people wonder why lots can't get into JRPGs.

I go back and forth on thinking this is what we'd have seen in the 90s if the graphics were capable of it on the regular, and figuring it's just a sad state in modern times. Either way, man, it's dumb.

Yeah I don't think they're going to try this in the US. Series needed all the help it could get here. Awakening brought it back, no reason to try and test the waters already. If anything I see them pushing the DLC hard and perhaps a higher price.
