Fire Emblem If (2 versions: ¥4700 game, ¥1852 other ver content DLC, ¥1852 3rd DLC)

Indeed!

I'm actually pretty turned off of SMT/FE though now :T I'll still keep track of the game though

Eh, I get where you're coming from but since I like Persona games either way the style they seem to be going for doesn't bother me. My main gripe was that the song in that trailer did not sound like Shoji Meguro and they absolutely need him if they go for a Persona-esque SMT x FE.

I actually kind of expected FE: If to somehow become SMT x FE just because of SMT: If...

Feels like they guy and girl in white ( they both have white hairs) are sibling or something, and we have to pick a side to see who reing the land...

So MyUnit will be a tactician again??

Why mention it if it annoys you? Some people like it, you don't. All you're doing by claiming you don't like it is adding to the amount of posts talking about it o_O

FWIW, the awakening thread's waifu talk pretty much drowned out all other conversation, which isn't really healthy for a discussion board.

With that pricing maybe it makes sense. Wouldn't the game + second story price be about the same as a retail 3DS game in Japan normally? So it makes sense for a $40 release to include both then have a $15 third story or something.

Edit: Damn it, nevermind then.

The guy and girl with white hair is the same person. Anyways it's looking like they're a lord since they're the main character.

Nohr = Noir.

0.o

New player characters are cool, wonder if they'll get in a future Smash---the Laguz Transformation would be neat if the next Smash brings that mechanic back.

All new class from the Shapeshifter we saw in trailer.

In FE12 you chose a set class, FE:A there was Grandmaster, Now it seems it's brand new.

We do not know if it is Manakete or not yet just because it's a dragon. All we know is that it is of shapeshifter race.

I knew the art style was still going to be the same but the multi-purchase campaign stuff has me more worried. FE:A was pretty pedestrian in terms of mission design, I have my doubts the team could make 3 separate ones and still be able to improve on Awakening.

Is anyone able to verify if the eShop release, which contains both scenarios, contains the full versions of both games?
Or is it like a compressed version of both games?

It costs the same as a single retail version, so I am extremely worried that the reason is due to cut content.
I'm also assuming this is the only version that'll be available in the US (though also as a physical release).

Someone please help ease my worries.

The third route is probably the peace route as in the third ending route which probably United both for the greater cause either way I'm hyped.

If the west gets both on the same cart it would be awesome if the game remembered your unit pairings on the second playthrough. So, if you replay the game on the opposing side and engaged in a battle you fought on the other side in your initial playthrough the relationships between units and their stat boosts would still apply.

It might be asking too much but it's not exactly infeasible to do.

If you don't get to burn and pillage Hoshido and then depose the Emperor of Nohr and seize the throne for yourself there will have been some serious lost potential. They said the story would be unconventional, so I hope they take this as an opportunity to let you be a jerkass.

Well she said that she'd let her die. I'd say that implies she's getting the game.

It's a deal breaker for me as it combined with the first trailer implies that they're not fixing any of the problems I had with Awakening.

Ah perhaps I misread the tone? Seemed more negative to me but reading tone on the internet is hard blah blah etc etc.

I'm not sure eliminating popular non-offensive (even if they are annoying) character archetypes is a realistic "fix" one can expect but at least the series is good in letting you manage how involved you want particular characters to be in your narrative. Diversity in character option is important as well and I hope this game does well in that regard.

Well Nohr campaign involves fixing the empire from within, so yeah you are most likely going to depose your Emperor.

What are you major complaints?

The two big ones that I can see being annoying are story (lol videogame stories, but awakening's even worse than normal due to time travel shenanigans) and map design (which we really saw nothing of in this video). So the trailer isn't really indicative of fixing some of people's issues with Awakening.

Shallow tropey characters--which were always kind of present, but FE:A took them too far and this looks even worse. lol

NA direct made it sound like Hoshido was for casuals
I watched the EU Direct and never really saw that, interesting, Also, personally Nohr also seems like a more interesting proposition and could have more intriguing story beats, with higher highs and lower lows and all sorts of emotional pulls with your main character. Just sounds more interesting to me...and that gif above *ahem*

"There is one version of the digital game. At Chapter 6 you must choose between the two choices which one you'd like to follow.

*Up until Chapter 6 both versions of the game are the same.
*Once your decision is made, it cannot be undone.'

It's a bit shitty, but at the same time, it gives me hope that it's going to be two proper campaigns and not just the same stuff with a different set of Pokemon, for example.

If you mean the JP version

Only one downloadable version will be available on the eshop, up to chapter 6 is a common route, after which you'll be able to select one of the two paths. Once you select one you won't be able to access the other without buying it as a reduced price DLC.

Only physical JP version that has both on one cart is the $80~ special edition that also comes with the 3rd path dlc and some physical bonuses.

If they even had personalities (looking at you FE1). I don't know, FE7 had the tropiest character of all time in Serra.

unless they pull an Oracle Zelda game kinda thing, it better be both storylines
beating both, but the true final boss can only be fought after both games

I really don't like the direction Fire Emblem has taken... Still, I guess the series is the most popular it has ever been. Ah well, hopefully the gameplay is deeper and improved from Awakening.

None of this really matters if it ain't a complete game in NA for me anyway.

So basically once you're done Chapter 6 you have to stop playing to let your 3DS download the rest of the game?

This seems like a weird design decision.

Characters personalities
Map design
The pair up system
Story
World Map
Difficulty (related to the pair up system)
Fanservice
Character design ( setting aside the fanservice I really don't like how the characters like)
Reclassing

Every problem I had with the gameplay stemmed from the stupid pair up system and we know it's coming back.
