Paarl
is kicking my ass. Any tips? Schould I fight him before doing
Rom
? I'm level 46.

I did it at around that level, and one shot him. Equip clothes that grant you good
Bolt
defense. Roll forward to dodge the initial swipe, then stay underneath him and hit him with a weapon with good reach (I used whip the whole time). The camera will go nuts, but you'll be fine; some people say not to lock on, but I locked on the whole fight. Watch out for the AOE, back off when that happens.

Is P
aarl
an optional boss or what? And how do I get to him, if so.
Yes after you
are captured by an "abductor" (one of them is outside Ward cathedral) you'll wake up in a cell, inside that place you'll find Adella the nun a NPC that only reacts if you have a piece of the black church set anyway explore the area (watch out for the crazy old ladies that run like crazy) and you'll find 2 abductors in front of a table, behind them there's an open cell and after that you'll find a cave to Parrl
oh and BTW the shortcut that opens after defeating it is awful and disappointing.

Where does the shortcut lead?

After a bumpy start, I'm enjoying this game so much! This may be my favourite 3D action game in 6+ years.

Also, due to completing Lego City Undercover just before Bloodborne showed up, the loading time doesn't seem bad to me!

I was captured early in the game, taken to the Hypogeon or whatever, is it a different area than that? Because I've lost access to that area since the Unseen Village happened.

You can get back there by progressing through the unseen village. If you met paarl once before, he'll be there waiting behind a fog gate. Don't know what happens if you defeat Rom without encountering him once.

I fucked up and
chose to submit my life after collecting all the shit I needed, I got my save back but it's too far back, I am so fucking mad.

FUCK ME MAN AHHHHHHHH

Gonna do it all over again tomorrow...

Here's an example of that damn defiled chalice dungeon boss. That charge hitbox though.

I'm uploading my actual completion of it now.

Depth is difficulty, has nothing to do with the actual size. I think they either have 3 layers or 5, don't recall seeing any other types.
At this boss right now. Got his patterns downs, but sometimes he throws out a random charge attack. Thought having half health wasn't a problem till this fight. So he's final boss of the dungeon right?

I forgot to eat the
baby jerky
before the boss. Thankfully the cloud save was right there (from my night before session when I went to work, the boss kill was in the morning when I got home)

I feel your pain tho :(

Well, I think I'm going to go full Arcane in this NG+. Does that sound like a good idea, like are there surprises besides the main arcane items that make it worth getting to 40?

after taking a few days off after BSB because I stay up too late playing. I am once again up late. After a bunch of stupid deaths trying to figure out which way to go I found V
icar
A
melia
and then proceeded to dominate it on my second try

feelsgoodman

I scared as fuck of those abductor dudes though

I so hope Sony is able to find a way to help From get a photo mode in this game. So many amazing enemies that I can't enjoy because I'm in oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck mode

Remember to go back to Central Yarnham and tell people about the
church
. Oh and talk to the guy by the first lantern to get a
flame sprayer
! This is probably old news but it blew my mind last night.

Gotta love people who just hang out away from the boss fight letting you do all the work when you get summoned into their game. :P

Once I notice that, I just let myself die. You do the rest buddy.

where to farm bloodstone chunks? the garg at c
ainhust
dont drop shit

and I wasted 3 on an upgrade on a weapon i can't even use QQ

Upper cathedral ward. Kill the 3 werewolves with blue eyes in the doorway.

No theres 1 more boss after him. I'm pretty sure the 3rd boss is easier than the 2nd though.

Man, the W
itch
and V
icar
were both piss easy, the whole F
orgotten
W
oods
area is as well.

Makin good progress.

I'm at Unseen Village... ignoring that shitty level just as I prefer to ignore the existance of Blight Town in Dark Souls, I still think that Dark Souls is a little bit of a better game overall.

Dark Souls recquired more carefull approaches, had a much larger weaponry and combat variety, also more variety in builds with different kind of sorcerers and kinghts, usefull shields and better online mode.

I'm really enjoying Bloodborne so far (except for Unseen Village and the problems I'm having to summon random players to my games), but they clearly walked a step back in many areas where D. Souls was excelent at. Also I'm not sure if the combat is better... it is satisfying, more fast paced, but also probably the main reason why we don't have many builds variety.

It is a bit easier though... what honestly, I welcome these days.

What's wrong with the Unseen Village?

I have done something terrible :( :( :(

Saved the suspicious guy from forbidden forest and sent him to cathedral. First old lady died then the nurse i saved and then the npc who was asking me to bring ppl to cathedral died (even tho he/she was scary i liked her/his voice over lol). I was kinda in panic mode cuz it is another Yurt case! So i attacked to him but apparently he was a mighty morphing beast and raped me so i started again in cathedral and my precious whore is dead too i learnt that she was vital for a perfect ending. bohohoho
They were only friends i had in game :( now i got no one to talk and look at there :(

Does the game have like a mini freeze in certain areas where the sound skips for a second and it feels like the console might lock up? Hoping that's normal.

yes it happens at the start of old yharnam and in some areas at forbidden forest too.

Agree with everything you said :)

I thought it was the easiest one, I'm not sure if that's just having some souls games on me now. I'll know for sure when I replay DS2 soon, a game where I summoned for every boss the first time (and i never summoned in BB)

Yes your ps4 isn't dying

Yeah, I've only CO-OPed once via the small resonant bell and the guy just stood in the back while I put in all the work. I ended up just luring the boss towards him and it switched Aggro to him and he died nearly instantly lol.

What's wrong with the Unseen Village?
Well there're
Groups of annoying bell-ringing girls that keep spawing enemies constantly, there're giant monsters climbing the buildings constatntly attacking you, some of them with their hands and other with a fricking laser, the enemies are harder versions of the witches and the town folks and there're 3 of the most annoying NPC hunters you'll find in the game
Other than that is such a nice looking place.

What's wrong with the Unseen Village?

Mainly the girls with the bells!
I literally had to run through the 1st lamp until the second ignoring every item in the way, cause I do not plan to explore anything there with those tons of respawning enemies! =/

Also the 3 hunters were annoying... but after I found a way to deal with them I'm okay with it.

And at last... the way to the boss area. Very annoying how many enemies we need to face or avoid till the arena. Except if I'm losing a very important shortcut that I'm not aware of.

Doesn't stuff stop respawning if you kill the bell women?

The problem is that some of those girls are located in difficult spots.
The first behind a group of town folks, the second one at the end of a mini cage maze with a crazy dude in wheelchair at her size, the third is hidden in a tiny gap below a group of witches and the fourth that I've found is beind a pack of rabbid dogs close to a wall

Oh wow,
Upper Cathedral Ward
is NUTS.

These *mild optional area spoilers*
blue eyed badass werewolves are kicking my ass, and the one that crashed through the cathedral window in the hall nearly gave me a damn heart attack.

It was only the most logical thing to do at the time.
