Is there a better shortcut to M
artyr
L
ogarius
that doesn't involve taking the ladder up the final way? It gets tedious taking out the
blowdart enemy
every time.

He's at that entrance before that. He's there after you
kill Blood Starved Beast and Vicar Amelia

not for me, and not according to that video
same thing happend me, dude went to the spawn spot was'nt there, then later cuts to
cainhurst
where he spawns where he is mean to

I exhausted all options btw

I just beeline for the ladder and tank the damage as I climb since it does miniscule damage. You take fall damage getting to that boss anyways so I'm using a blood vial either way.

Going to have to ask again...

Does BB have any deeper weapon upgrade tree like Dark Souls? Like this:

I've got my axe at +3 but am worried I'll miss out the upgrade tree split.

Watch the video again, put on the subtitles.
He says in the video with the subtitles that the reason he isn't there in that scene of the video is because it's NG+ and he hasn't killed Vicar Amelia yet. You can also tell that his vitality is higher in the scene where Alfred is not there as opposed to after he finds the unopened summons.

EDIT:
It's still possible he may appear there after you get the unopened summons

Just beat Vicar Amelia.... But don't have an idea of where to go now. I head down towards the door with the giant hand that insta kills you... But can't figure it out, any help?

Seriously - Vicar Amelia

Now I don't see myself as being particuallly unskilled, as the open world enemies I find simple to deal with.

I'm not a farmer - I like to deal with the enemies at the level I am and not run off for hours killing the same enemies to level up - Maybe I should?

I try and stay behind her, and hack away - I read somewhere once that there is a way to bait a certain type of attack...

NOt sure what level I am when I beat her in this video, but for sure if you stay behind her and interrupt her healing (would probably have been better if I used the anti healing mist) and a buff, but since I did it without here W oudl hope others could as well usign a fire buff and the mist.

ON another note I started over...couldnt take all the missed storylines for my virgin run of bloodborne...then i promptly miss the Eileen quest AGAIN..even after consulting an obviously bad wiki...she wasnt where she was supposed to be, then when I went to the graveyard the fight was already going on and I hadnt spoken to her since the Central Yharnam first scene.

Anyway, this this just uploaded and is hot off the press: in this video I show how you can get the Blade of Mercy early (right after killing BSB.)

yup...go out the
window and along a ledge in the lower floor
, then open a short cut to the ladder all the way up. The shortcut opens jsut before you go up the stairs to the
blowdarts
. edit...ok you already knew that ....sorry not that I know of.

Question about chalice dungeons.

I haven't gone to NG+ yet (only
Gehrman
left), trying to finish as much as possible in the chalice dungeons first.

But if I do end up choosing to go to NG+, will my active chalices and progress within them remain in place and be accessible right at the start of NG+?

Thanks in advance!

There are two huge branching paths in the areas before Amelia.

Seriously, the game almost splits in three but it's really easy to miss it.

I've got my axe at +3 but am worried I'll miss out the upgrade tree split.

I haven't finished the game, but I'm about 2/3 through.

From what I understood, you level up to +10 in normal way, there is only one upgrade path this way.

Some weapons have "natural" damage types, but you can change damage types through blood gems. For example, I have found blood gems that change weapon damage to arcane, one that changes weapon damage to fire. Some blood gems give poison effects etc. So you have to use blood gems to modify your weapons.

So, the proper chart you are looking for is... chart of blood gems, their effects and where they can be found. There are TONS of gems, so customising can be quite in-depth.

Not as far as I'm aware. I have not finished the game (so someone may be able to correct me) - but at this stage it's a very linear progression. The variety/customisation will be through gems and runes which are easily swappable between weapons.

After a long time searching for people to help me fight G
ehrman
, i get one connection. He dies after 5 seconds. Haha, my kind of luck!

Stay behind her. When you see nothing but fur for a while hack away at it. Beware of her step back because that gets you in her melee range. Always stay close so you can dodge to her back.

It's fine. Seems like I'll just have to not get lazy.

Thanks.

I thought this was the case (and said so in my previous posts) because the blood gems seem to fill in the customisation gap.

Guess I better keep on dropping all my shards into the axe... Though I need twin shards now and I don't know if I've found a single one of those.

Is it worth upgrading one's gun? The damage gain is basically nothing, and I can't see that it improves countering odds or anything like that. If it does improve countering odds, then holy shit I better upgrade my blunderbuss, but there's no stat suggesting this.

If you have 10 insight or more you can buy it from the messengers in Hunters Dream.

Maybe someone could help me with this.

Me and a friend want to play together, but for some reason we cannot connect, if he wants to summon me into his world.

We stand in the exact same location, small bell ring, after a few seconds ringing the summoning bell. Then after a few seconds the message shows that on each side it finds us, the sound appears of a summoning appearing on both sides, the animation under my character comes up.. and nothing - just standing there in my world and the system searches on forever.

We have a password set, the setting is on worldwide.

Other way around it works perfect - he can come into my world, the level cap is ok, the boss is still alive on each side.

Has somebody an idea what could be a solution to this problem?

I dont know if its common knowledge, but if you hold Circle while climbing, you climb faster. Its usually fast enough to dodge the poison knives.
That's the only way I ascend ladders, unfortunately. :( I'll leave him be for once and see if he kills me on the ladder again.

A
mygdala
is a real cunt in the Defiled Chalice. It was so easy in NG in comparison :(

How far are you getting?

Just watch/attack the hands. The slam attacks leave them open for abuse and nothing at range is scary from amy. It actually gets easier to me once the first powerup happens as the hands that will slam now glow blue, and if you keep attacking the same arm they'll break and do additional damage until she heals it.

I only had issues when the arms get ripped off, but at this point you can run up to the tail and whack away. She'll jump away butt facing you letting you hit the tail some more, you'll do small damage but it'll keep happening until she dies.

I had this exact problem. Turns out that my friend didn't have NAT2 connection on his ps4, once we fixed it, we were able to play without any problem.

Uhg, I'm new to this series. Help.

Been playing for a few hours and finally got to the Celtic Beast. Had my ass handed to me. I gained a point of insight, so now great, I can level up! But now enemies are a fuckton harder. I gain two or three levels and it's hardly made a difference in defeating the newly roided fodder. Huh. I look online and realize that having a point of insight ratchets up the enemy difficulty. So I think- let me spend it so the enemies scale back to their previous difficulty because they are fucking decimating me now. I use the summoning bell (to which nothing happens? Not quite sure what it's supposed to do?) and lose my insight point.

Cool! Now let's see if the enemies are back to norm- nope. Still way tougher, now I can't level up anymore, entering the boss arena doesn't give me my spent point back and I feel hopelessly fucked. I know this game is hard, but I feel like I'm doing something wrong. Help.

Having 1 insight point doesn't really change the difficulty, you can have 10 points and it won't have any difference. What you've experienced is just harder mobs (werewolves and trolls) but the basic guys are still the same.

You are imagining things, or you simply encountered a naturally harder enemy. The first insight threshold is around 15, and even then enemies don't get tougher or get more damage per say. They do get things like special effects on their weapons, new attacks and other VERY visually obvious buffs. Like a flaming effect on their previously normal weapon. Or they start shooting projectiles when they were purely melee before.

Same enemies in same zones will aways same amount of hp and damage. Some enemy types will have different hp and damage in different zones, but enemies in zones do not suddenly hit harder. Unless they gained some VERY obvious visual effects.

High insight allows you to...unlock things that you didn't have access previously. They are purely optional, but very interesting. It's a trade-off. Slightly harder enemies for...well, you'll find out :)

So I guess the Eileen weapons are entirely missable? I can't find her anywhere and I've beat
Rom.

Upper Cathedral Ward
holy shit that place was dark.

Check in
the grand cathedral, where you fought Amelia

I just went to
the Grand Cathedral and she was waiting for me and tried to kill me. Killed her and got the loot.

I know this is a very late response but I've tried the Grand Cathedral and shes not there. I've also tried the other 3 places shes supposed to be and can't find her. Oh well.

Legend. I'm at 9 insight and have a bunch of Madman's Knowledge stockpiled. Thanks.

You're doing fine. Even getting to the Cleric Beast is a great achievement for a new player. If you're having that much trouble with him just forget about him and continue exploring the area and levelling up in general.

If the doll is gone again at 0 insight, you can use Madman's Knowledge (a couple of those in the sewers) to gain an insight point or two.

The enemy difficulty is largely set in stone, there are only differences in difficulty when you're at like 50+ insight. That's not really a thing. The enemies are generally ruthless. Just the way the game is. You'll get better!

Thanks for the replies.

The average torch-weilding, pitchforking townfolk however are definitely taking 5-6 more hits to defeat than usual though. I'm sure I'm not imagining that. For example, the shotgun guys would take me two swings of my axe tops to defeat them. It now takes 4-5 hits. Some guys that I could one shot before take 3-4 hits to kill now. Ever since around the time I got that insight point, the enemies definitely take more hits than before. I swear.

A difficulty jump from 0 to 1 insight is believable, but I don't think it's the case. Lots of other players would have commented on it if so. Maybe you were doing stronger attacks before and not thinking about it? These enemies give you plenty of time to do strong R2 attacks which decimate their health.

Question.

Late/ mid game, i'm guessing optional area

What's the deal with the nighmare fuel weird thing in the lake after the "alien" pushover boss fight? Is it a boss, it seems to be alive but doesn't aggro. I can't talk to it, should i just hit it?

Do you need to repair your weapon? If the weapon is too far gone, it's a lot harder to kill even regular enemies.

One-shotting enemies that early in the game is the unusual thing here, even with strong R2 attacks. Pretty strange if you ask me.

I just returned to my NG+ skill build, holy shit NG+ is easy as fuck, I just took out both Cleric Beast &
Father Gascoigne
without using a single blood vial, either the burial blade is OP or the increase in difficulty isn't really big.

Maybe it's because I was doing depth 4 chalice dungeons.

Could totally be this!

When you first realise weapons degrade it's something you'll become paranoid about for ever after. You do so little damage with a degraded weapon.

It's a boss. Hit it to begin the fight.

Yeah so I spent about 4+ hours with the game and Central Yarnham is a baptism of fire to say the list, slowly starting to get the mechanics, I've only managed to make it to the werewolves before being brutally slain.

I think I need to remember to use my blunderbuss more when I'm recharging to roll away or just use the two handed saw.

Love this game though.

Maybe this is it!! Is my axe too worn down? How can I check?

There were definitely a handful of guys that went down with one hit for me. Like when you take the right path at the start of Central Yharnam and the first dude you encounter swings his weapon through boxes and barrels at you used to be an enemy I could one shot. I picked the axe + violent past class, so I think my attack is higher than normal at the start.

I seem to be having a strange problem getting hold of
a tonsil stone from NPCs. I've beaten 5 bosses so far (cleric, father G, BSB, Vicar and witch) and now I'm supposed to be able to speak to any window or door NPC to get the tonsil stone. I've watched a few videos of people getting it but when I try to speak to the same people they just moan and wail at me.

Any idea why this is happening? I'm currently ploughing through the forbidden woods. I've played for around 28 hours and I'm at level 62 if that matters.

Weapon reinforcement bench, in the building in hunter's dream.

Go back to hunter's dream and go to the work bench in building where you fortify your weapon, there's an option to repair. I had to find out the hard way too. :)
