Toughest boss in the game for me. Finally, I got it just below 50% and then unloaded with three Cannon shots w/ the gunpowder buff. It felt cheap but was VERY effective lol.

Hey, no shame. I thought it was the hardest fight in the game too. Of course, I haven't gone too deep into Chalice Dungeons but nothing else was as difficult.

I'm not sure where to go now. I have killed the following bosses:

Cleric Best
Father G
Vicar Amelia
Witches of Hemrich
Blood Starved Beast

I've got the following lamps unlocked:

Yarnham headstone:
Sickroom
Central Yarnham
Great Bridge
Tomb of Odeon
Cathedral Ward
Grand Cwthedral
Old Yarnham
Church of Good Chalice

Frontier headstone:
Hemwick charnel lane
Witch's abode

No idea where to go now. Halp?
Go back to Cathedral Ward, to the circular plaza in front of the stairs of the Grand Cathedral (with the two giants) There should be a path leading you to password gate (beating Amelia gets you the password, assuming you interacted with the object in the Cathedral after beating her. If not, do it!)

Oh maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan

The runes that give you bullets for visceral attacks are the best. The best.

when I read about this I immediately started thinking of a bloodtinge build.

Also there's runes that give hp back from VAs. That's my workaround for now - if I create some blood bullets and then IMMEDIATELY perform a counter I get all my hp back.

A
mygadala
was a lot of fun, probably my favourite boss so far
Nearly beat it first time too, but went in with only 10 vials and ended up running out when he was about 10% health

lol at Rom in that tiny room. Almost got it but then it casts the hot rocks back to back about 7 or 8 times. Run in it does short range, get out of range it does long range, I go back to navigating spiders it goes back to short range. I almost prefer the DS2 spider fight and that was terrible.
I beat him in 1 try, kill the spiders and hang out behind pillars when hes doing the long range attack

You want to head for the forbidden woods through a door which was previously locked with a password in the cathedral ward.

You get the password when viewing the cut scene after defeating Vicar Amelia.

Here's a video of where to head next. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avGtUizk978

I had a pretty crushing loss against S
hadows of Yarnham
last night. I finally understand the pattern and flow of the fight, but I was literally about to deliver the final blow, and pretty much started losing my mind at the tiny amount of HP left on the boss health bar. Started greed mashing and got rekt with probably 2 hits left. Awful. I just want to move on with the game lol, I have brought shame to my family :(

Need some advice dudes and dudettes. So I just did gattling guy in Old Yarnham as well as the other hunter. Got a few weapon gemstone things, and enough bits for another weapon upgrade on my Axe (to make it +3). However, my question is, when do I get the next big weapon? I like the look of that big sword which I've seen in screens others have posted. And secondly, is whatever the next weapon is, worth keeping over the Axe? Lastly, should I embue the Axe with a gemstone, or save it for the next weapon?

After loosing too many times against
Ebritas
& M
artyr
L
ogarius
, I went on a couple farming runs, in the process also tackling my first few Chalice dungeons and just now went back to those two motherfuckers and FUCKING FINALLY slaughtered them. Feels so so good right now. =)

Now on to the N
ightmare
zones.

Chalice dungeons weren't anything special, although I'm way, way overleveled right now for the first few. Will go through more of them, though. Especially with the Root ones being randomized.

Edit: beaten. Slow typing on a phone.

You need to head to the forbidden woods. Take the cathedral ward lamp, head to the circle area where you unlock 2 gates, there's a big guy sitting down and behind him is the place you need to go to the door that ask for a password.

A lot of people clamor over the Ludwig's Holy Sword, but I find it to be weaker than my Saw Cleaver when upgraded the same amount. I've been using my Saw Cleaver throughout.

Damn then how do you Co-op Paarl?

Ok!! Its possible!!
Go to that lamp, then go downstairs where the hunter was. Just go down 1 staircase and enter door! Kill the werewolf, take the door at your left, go till the end, and you're gonna see a passage on the wall. Enter there and go outside. Ring the bell, I'll be there!

Question about the final area:

So I dropped into that spot from the top elevator into the wall that leads into those singing frenzy ass hats. I rolled through, got a few goodies, and during it I had pulled a lever that dropped some giant ...thing.

I assume it's an extra boss. Where do I go to fight this thing? Also, I went through this whole area and I thought Mergo's Workshop was supposed to be at the end of all these frenzy guys and spiders, but there wasn't a workshop? Did I mess something up or miss something?

Anyone who can help ASAP is appreciated.

Anyone ? This is the last thing left for me to do it seems since I can't get that Hunter to spawn at Tomb of Oedon.

Seems that the
covenant runes
play a bigger part in co-op that I thought.

By using the
Hunter's emblem covenant
I have been getting into more games than by using using any of the other two.

I thought I was too high level, but by using that, even at 170, the co-op games keep flowing

when does the
girl have her baby? because Ive done everything but nightmare mensis and shes still just sitting in her chair unable to talk
old lady is still alive and kicking too

Dito. I just now started upgrading my Holy Blade, but the short Cleaver-gameplay wasn' topped just yet. Though I admit, I ignored the rest of the arsenal up until now pretty much entirely.

Ludwig's has versatility. Fast sword strikes with the small blade to keep smaller enemies in combo lock (very good against NPC Hunters as well, if you get them in a corner you can take off 75% health in one combo).

The large form you can hit multiple enemies in an arc with R1 and when upgraded can one shot lower enemies, two shot slightly bigger enemies and 3 shot those guys with the big axes.

The moveset is really versatile as well. R2 is a lunge attack that does thrust damage and has good range (not great but good). L2 hits with an overhead attack that causes high stagger or you can jump from a distance with forward + R2. The stagger is high enough to keep larger enemies in stun lock if you just spam L2. Ludwig has damage from all 3 types... slash, blunt and thrust.

It also gets pretty insane with the
Arcane buff spell.

Give me a few mins

Apparently there's a lift somewhere nearby that takes you down there..I always assumed it died on the way down, but apparently if you do
the make contact gesture for 1min+ you get a high level Moon rune.

When you describe it like that it makes it sound like I don't know how to play the game
Lol

I haven't had a lot of time to play, but I did manage to make it
past that beast in the church in old Yarn Land the last time I played. Right now I'm trying to get through the first chalice dungeon.

I can't believe I went through that fight with the other hunter and forgot to use the music box. I did return the necklace to the girl, though.

Which rune would you choose to equip, the +10% health rune, or the 3% damage reduction one?

Of course, whatnot both.gif
But I keep the +100 resists to all rune and increased vial capacity rune equipped, so have room for just one more.

10% health is much more valuable than 3% damage reduction if you've got vitality over like, 25.

Lol
It took me a while to figure it out too, I used the Saw Cleaver as my first weapon and as well and when I just did the fast strikes with it and saw the numbers compared to the Ludwig I was like "why swing that big slow sword around when I can hit twice as fast and do about as much damage? The small blade does same damage anyway."

Saw Cleaver doesn't have the stagger that the Ludwig does even though damage wise it's at least comparable and probably better speed wise. Ludwig can even stagger bosses if you hit them at certain spots.

Plus Ludwig has very balanced scaling for Str/Skill at lvl10 so that's another thing it has going for it.
