OMG! I finally beat
martr loganus
By far my toughest boss yet. I admit that I dropped from 43 insight to 20. No idea if that helped me but he was impossible. Gah, I'm drained. Done for the night.

No. Actually, I never use axes in games! I'm a sword man. Currently I'm using a Ludig's holy blade and saw cleaver maximally leveled up (at this point in the game). I'll check it out if my next strategy doesn't work. I think I can do it though I just wasn't prepared
for those snake columns!

But it'll be in a couple of days. I need a break. It's too intense!!

Best Runes? I have one with all defence up by 4%, one with phys defence up by 3% and one that gives me more Echoes at the moment. Have a fuck load more but these seem the most useful. Guess I could replace the Echoes one with the 5% health raise one I have.

I've had + 10% stamina, +3 vials, and more echoes equipped for a very long time, though I did just find one that increases RES +100 across the board deep within the bowels of the
Nightmare Frontier
-- which will come in handy in certain situations.

Late game spoilers

I felt bad for destroying the brain. Couldn't attack back while I hack away at it with Ludwig. It just watch as I slash away. And before anyone mentions it, I got the rune beforehand.

The 3
Hunters in the prison post Rom? Dead.
Fuck them guys, seriously. What great skill did I exert to complete such a feat? Well, I took a hard stand, took out my Ludwig Unholy and them promptly
ran the fuck into the jail cell and locked myself in it.

No shame.

Run and then roll. It's the only way to avoid it. Also, if you stay reasonably close, it should be an issue. If you actually always run, you'll never get hit by the mobs in the area either. So just stay close (but not too close) and run in for a hit, then retreat. Repeat this. He'll never launch the long range stuff.

That's what I was trying. I'm really starting to dislike this game...

I think I'm very close to finishing this thing. Are we allowed to keep playing after the credits? I'd like to go back after everything is said and done to collect a few things, and fight an optional boss I was having trouble with 20 levels ago. Thanks! :-)

3 trophies to plat : the 2 regular finals, and
Queen Yharnam
in which dungeon can i find
her
?

The bottom of the Pthumeru Chalice. You'll have to go out of your way and do some other stuff to be able to make them all though.

Is there any reason to not convert Madman's Knowledge into Insight as soon as you get it?

I have 38 insight and about 8 Madman's Knoweldge in my inventory at the moment

No. Game dumps you automatically in New Game + once the credits finish rolling.

More good progress.

Killed:
Witch of Hemlock
- very easy fight. No trouble at all.
Paarl
Wow. This one really tested me. Once I figured out a strategy, I laid him to waste. Really awesome fight, though. Had my hands shaking afterwards.

I feel like I am doing alright for it being my first Souls game.

You kind of have to fight him like a Dark Souls boss. Hopefully your weapon has a decent range. Wait for him to do his 3 hit combo, sneak in one hit, back away. Takes forever, but it's the only safe route. You can sneak them in sometimes after his double hand slam, also. Additionally...
he is weak as shit to poison. One knife will poison him and do about 1/8th of his health. You could cheese him with 20 knives and backdodging pretty easily.

But, to answer your question: Chalice dungeons don't level up with NG+. I think 4+ is definitely something you should tackle after beating the game at least once.

We must not be talking about the same enemy here, or the one I am facing has thousands of more health than what you're talking about.
Poison knives only deal 42 damage
.

I can only ever get him to 30% and always die to some completely RNG related bullshit, which is usually where he starts jumping up and down on the same spot, then does his rocket punch as I'm trying to stand, or he grabs me for 80% of my health.

I can't actually think of a single boss in this game that I would consider "fun". They are almost all just bullshit on top of bullshit and progressively get worse.

edit: just beat him, and I only used three vials. 100% luck based.

I'm at Cainhurst.
Martyr Logarius
is making me want to snap this game in half.
Fucker keeps two shoting me with that skull face magic up close.

Well, it depends. The more insight, the more enemies in the world get buffed. If you want the challenge, then go ahead.

That said, I'm not sure if anything changes past 40 insight.

Rom is not a skill fight, it is a luck fight. It's the most out-of-control feeling fight so far. You can have the patterns down but , you don't know where things are coming and going. I present pure luck in video form.

But you linked to a video showing him take it down with skill? The only times he got hit were when he either wasn't looking for the missiles or got greedy up close. Unless your point was about the spiders or something.

It's weird to me that some people will have so much trouble to a boss that I one-shot and other people have an easy go to a boss that took me tons of tries.

Next time I play through Rom, I'll see if I can get a video of it. I was getting frustrated with it at first too, but then I started shifting my camera up when he launches his meteor attack. By doing so, it is pretty apparent that you can play out a path to dodge them all. The problem is though, it is a pretty quick reaction that you need to be able to do so. And personally, towards the end, I just ran away as fast as I could in a slight zig zag, and it was usually enough to keep me out of contact with the projectiles.

I managed it by just hammering the roll button :p Occasionally you get hit by one but that shouldn't be a problem. You can direct the camera up as well to time it a little better.

Wipe out the first wave of spiders as well, and about half of the second wave. After that the fight was easy for me.

Oh that's me and it didn't feel like skill. It felt like spamming the dodge button and hoping for the best. I died 16 times before that.

Would somebody mind giving me a hand with SoY boss fight? I almost got the last dude after a long fight but ended up dying because of silly reasons. I really don't want to start the fight again when I don't have any blood vial left :(

I read somewhere that more unspent insight changes some areas of the game/enemy attributes. Makes them more difficult? I also read that insight can be taken by some enemies. It was on a wiki somewhere. Dunno how true it is.

Anyway. I've beaten the following bosses:
Cleric Beat > Hunter Dude > Blood-starved Beast > Vicar Amelia > Witches of Hemlock
. Not sure where to go next. Can someone tell me which lantern I should be starting at to move forward?
