Bloodborne |OT3| I Cane, I Saw, I Conqu- YOU DIED

The Chalice DUNGEON bosses induce a lot of wipes.
I think it's a good idea to do the save restore thing before taking on a hard boss to preserve your blood vials. The worst is scrubbing it up on a hard chalice boss and then needing to go grind for blood echoes in order to buy more blood vials.

Just got my Bloodborne Plat finally to go along with all my other souls plats. Some of those Chalice Dungeons are no joke,
Especially the one that gives you half health.
Also,
Abhorrent Beast
is easily the hardest boss in the game IMO. After fighting that boss in the later Chalice Dungeons every other boss felt easy to me lol.

Are Strength builds somehow a lot stronger than Skill builds? Seems that way from some of the damage numbers I've seen in some videos.
I'd say the opposite. The cane is probably the best weapon in the game, and even if you don't agree with that other weapons like the Greatsword scale as much with strength as skill.

Just beat V
icar
A
melia
.

Fighting her again I still think she is one of the hardest bosses in the game. Some hard to evade attacks and that annoying healing,

A bit confused on chalice dungeons:

I only had enough material to create one. I finished it (I assume it has 3 floors total?), I have two more chalices, but not enough materials to create the dungeons.

Do I scrap the first one, or just run through it again?

It's crazy that you can't even find blood chunks in chalice dingeons, i have more rocks than chunks now. Except I can't use those rocks because I don't have other weapons at +9.

Is it possble to randomly co-op in Chalice dungeons? Or only private sessions?

You need the Short Ritual Root Chalice, but yeah it's possible. Use it on the first chalice headstone.

Did you explore every side path in the dungeon?

Hm maybe I should go back to the cane then. I have to get a full combo off with my Blades of Mercy to get Damage numbers like the greatsword or that mace weapon.

Can't you just search for it and create a new one from someone else's without using any new ritual materials?
I'm at layer 3 though and don't feel like dealing with the previous two bosses. I had two Ailing Loran chalices up, my own and some guy's, I was on layer 2 on mine while I had to restart everything on the shared one.

Well, I've wrapped up the last major Chalice Dungeon. I think my overall assessment is one that probably isn't a surprise to anyone: there's very little here that doesn't feel like content cut from the main game specifically because it wasn't up to par. I'm glad this content exists, though, if only because without it there would have been more developer pressure to try and shoehorn a lot of this into the game proper.

Would not recommend unless you're at least as hard up for more Bloodborne as I am. Probably better for most people to just skate into NG+ and ignore it entirely.

I found the dog in the defiled chalice to be the hardest of the game

Man I really don't get the whole chalice dungeon thing. I've been through one so I understand the layout and what they are but when it comes to creating them or finding the needed items to create them I feel really lost. I've been through one with a depth of 1 and I understand that pertains to difficulty level, and the only other one I can create has the same depth. In general it looks like I need to get more level 4 ritual bloods but I have no idea where I can get them; I'm assuming in the dungeons themselves.

Also the one I made and beat, can I go ahead and delete it from the altar?

Any tips on Pthumerian Descendant in Great Chalice? He is very deadly and parrying him is based on luck.

first half of the fight, parrying him is very easy
second half, I found a specific move where I nailed the parry so I just kited him until he did the move and parried him each time (its the "tornado" thing he does)

With these chalice dungeons, I kind of wish this game had a toolset to create your own levels. And have tools to make any enemy a boss by editing their move-sets and have scaling so you can make a giant snake thing a boss or something.

A
bhorrent Beast
is the hardest imo, far beyond anything in the main game, he's super fast and hard hitting and his final transformation cause the framerate to turn to utter shit

Just beat the
witch
... Well, that was disappointing. I figured out what to do on my first try and didn't die once. Hopefully the others aren't as easy.

Stock up on fire paper and numbing mist. Instead of keeping your distance, stay close to her and dodge behind her. Attack her with a flaming weapon and she'll go down in no time. Make sure to use the numbing mist to stop her when she starts praying.

Stay relatively close to her, bait out her attacks and attack her side immediately after she misses an attack. If you can bait her leaping attack you get a few free hits on her ass

Thanks, guys. Don't know what it was, but she just had my number. Not even
BSB
was this tough for me.

Anyway, took her down with my 2nd summon partner (first was a train wreck)

My experience was similar. I think I got lucky though, I got in a sweet spot and just went to town while spinning in circles with her.

She did kill me the first fight. As per usual I roll with Ludwig's 2H form against larger bosses, but my combos were way too slow. By the time I'd close the distance and start winding up she'd be in attack mode. I died pretty quickly, actually. Second fight I switched to 1h and dominated her. Took a quick 1100 points off with a cannon shot to the face, picked at her a little bit, and then unleashed an 8 hit visceral attack combo that took nearly 5000 health. Beat her up while she was going into rage mode. Stepped back and jumped left when she rushed, got into a similar 'sweet spot' under her right arm and was able to stagger her again...finished her right as she was unleashing her laser attack.

Probs got the glitched version

How does the glitches version behave? I always quit to menu before putting my system in rest mode and restart the app the next time I play.

Did Rom on my second attempt. Died the first time because of a silly mistake.
Someone earlier said his comet drops were near unavoidable, but I realised that so long as I was locked on to an enemy spider and just kept dashing after he fired them, they basically couldn't hit me.

Keep going through the pthumerian chalice dungeons, their difficulty goes up as you go down further. I just beat a depth 3 one and it was not so easy.

In which Chalice Dungeon can I get the Living String for the Great Pthumeru Ihyll Ritual? Isz?

no, you get it from
the giant brain in the nightmare of mensis.

Nah, the three hunter fight is bullshit. All the Souls games have a bullshit moment. They're just fair the other 99% of the time.

Just finished that fight and holy shit was it a pain at first. If you can separate them, the fight becomes infinitesimally easier. Figured out that
if you walk down the stairs slowly and take the stairs on the left side, you can wrap around and get behind the cane/flamethrower guy. I got a visceral attack off him, and then ran down to the lowest level. Then when they all show up down there I sprinted back to the lantern. Repeated that once and the cane user decided to follow me so I finished him 1v1. Was able to peal off the riflespear guy next and he was ridiculously easy to parry. Claw dude didnt take too long to finish after that

Do you guys think they cheat at all with the world design?
Forbidden Woods
been more or less underneath
Central Yharnam
is pretty suspect to me

I was thinking through this earlier and it seems possible, although some of the map backgrounds would make no sense. We won't really know until someone puts together a 3d map like the one for Dark Souls.

I think you also have to factor in what weapons a person is using. On my new character where I was using Threaded Cane, certain stuff was just so much harder cause it doesn't stagger anything whatsoever and other things were easier because of the range.

Meanwhile the three hunter fight was pretty easy for me on (beat it on the second try) because Ludwigs Blade + Beast Pellet + Fire Paper (I think it was) meant that the hunters just kept getting staggered and couldn't close the distance on me at all.

Shit, must have missed this on my first playthrough.
Did you get the blood rock(whatever it's called) there's a cage elevator you can take to get down there. It's in the room down the stairs, pass the hunter on the bridge.

Lol, my last play session I was working on the 3 hunters in Yagrull, died on the last hunter when it looked like it was just a few hits left on him. Then I had to turn of the game.

Went on a farmingrun for vials now to be prepared for the encounter, but ofcourse when I get to the minibosses pumped up for a kill it seems like they died the first time after all..

Oh well, hopefully time for a boss soon, all I do is run around like an idiot exploring different areas.
