I'm not really into the chalice dungeons, trying to get those trophies but they're really a chore with all the material searching.

Those chalice dungeons are about as bad as you can expect from randomized levels. Same 5 or so rooms repeated constantly, long corridors leading to dead ends with nothing but ritual blood ("yay") in them and so on. Well, at least they're quite nice looking and there are new enemies and bosses in them.

Seriously, anyone able to beat
Ebrietas?
She's ridiculous, horrendous hitboxes.
If you hug her "feet", there's basically nothing she can do. Some of her flailing might graze you but you can just regain everything back. Worked for me when I grew tired of her frenzy vomit and almost impossible to dodge lunge attack. The triple arcane thing is pretty much all you need to worry about. The extra damage on her head is basically a trap to lure you into the kill zone.

You killed Rom, who seemed to be maintaining a veil which masked their presence. Alternatively, high enough insight (60+) allows you to see them at any point int he game.

40 insight to see the world as it should, before Rom lifts the veil. Trust me, you are in for a shock when you start the game in NG+ and walk around town with 40+ insight in the cathedral ward haha

I one shot her with this strategy and my Threaded Cane +10.

anyone got good NPC Guide??

Where is the key to the door above the healing church? I think that's the last area for me to open up. I can go fight the final boss but I don't want to do that yet. Also, do chalice dungeons scroll with your character in new game plus? I haven't really done much of them and I would like to, but I also want to go fight the final boss. I wish the game didn't automatically kick you to new game plus when you win...

in
the unseen village
,
from the second lamp, turn around and run up the stairs, where the big spider shoots lasers at you.
you can drop down there in some corner from the plattform at the top of the stairs
.

Nothing seems to work with
Ebrietas
stuck on her for days. Every other boss is down but this, such bullshit.

attack her head and then do a critical on her.
after that immediately follow with a charged R2.

Can anyone tell me what number you wanna have for poison effect that lets you poison enemies pretty easily? I have a gem which gives +9.6 rapid poison which I thought sounded awesome but couldn't get it to proc on anything.

Man this game is so creepy.. After beating VA I was heading back to the Cathedral and noticed the
human spider beast thing
just hanging on the building staring at me..

Do you remember the name of that lantern? I know what you're talking about...

I didn't realize until my second playthrough that there's an
npc you can talk to in the window by the central yarnham bonfire. never knew that. in retrospect, later in the game when there's a conspicuous werewolf enemy standing by the central yarnham bonfire now makes sense.

also explains all the coughing I heard at that bonfire.

You can get a flamethrower too after having beaten the first 2 bosses and talking to him

Do this,
holy blade upgraded as much as you can. Stand behind her and stay in between her two squid legs and do charged r2 attacks until she starts doing arcane attacks. Once the magic starts keep your distance and use bone marrow ash on an upgraded hunters pistol. 4 or 5 shots will finish her off.
one of the easiest fights for me.

Whoops, thought it was 60 for some reason. I think it's cause that was what I was rocking in NG+.

Don't know if I'm too late already but... the best, easiest way to do it is first, by wearing Henryk clothing set and THEN just fuck off with the camera lock during the fight and ROLL FORWARD towards him to his underbelly and SMACK the legs. It'll down him and if he gets away, do NOT let up and instead just ROLL towards him/underneath him over and over again and smack his legs again etc etc. I got him on my 3rd attempt by doing this.

I found that getting close to him and reking his legs and face worked well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsf-kTTMNuU

Also, if you're having trouble you might consider armor with higher bolt resistance

cool thanks. I'll try them out. I've been using the executioner set, but I'll try to find the henryk clothing

I just can't see how you can say her hitboxes are good. A near un-dodgeable attack and way too many flailing limbs make her really frustrating.

Which un-dodgeable attack? The flailing limbs are honestly easy to dodge through once you know there's a follow up. It took a while to get down but even the stuff that kept hitting me felt like it was my fault rather than the design.

If I didn't have so much VIT I would have died in this run to the lasers, and that would have been my fault too; I should have been dodging close in and side to side, not back back back.

This boss fight has some of the worst hit boxes in the game.

Ok, since multiple people disagree with me, can you provide a gif or video showing what you are talking about?

EDIT: I just double checked the video of my fight and I never got hit by anything that wasn't blatantly my fault.

The charge she does, extremely difficult to get out of the way.

So I forgot to pick up the living string, started another new game and am now at the last chalice dungeon...what's the fastest route to get back to the living string?

Can anyone tell me what just happened?

After I unlocked the G
rand
C
athedral
area:
I went to a side area, killed two armored troll things with axes and then went into a room, some crazy huge apparition grabbed me and gave me frenzy, then I died.
I have no idea what that was about. Seems really fucking cheap.
