Do we have any covenants in this game? I found Alfred (I think that is his name) in the church and one time before entering the FW.

But haven't found any covenant

Lol I like how the guy got like 6 replies in a row. Anyway anyone played this game with the headset? Is it me or does it get creepier with it on due to how you can hear Everything.

There's 3 covenants -
Eileen, Alfred, and one in the Cainhurst Castle. First two are finishing their questlines (or maybe you can just kill them, I don't know). Last one is just talking to a NPC at the end of the Castle.

When Do I get option to join
Alfred?

Well for me, it was after I finished his questline.
You need to complete Cainhurst Castle, grab the unopened summons from the final room in that place, give it to Alfred. Then teleport back to the Castle in the final room (there's a lamp in there) and he'll have done something. Then you go back to where you first found him and you get the Rune that gives you the covenant.

I have a question about Arianna:
Is it still possible to get her to the cathedral after killing Rom/turning the moon orange?

This game is ridiculous. I tried around 78 times the Watch Dog of the Old Lords and after muscle memorizing literally every single type or slight of movement I passed. Then I went to Amygdala and got her from my first try without taking any damage and without glitching at all......

I don't even know where that is. I've never been there before.

Have you been to U
nseen Village
? I'd assumed you actually were late game.

If you activated the 2nd lamp:
Go forward and down to street level. The big chapel/church/etc. There willbe huge cirle stairs going down. The place that is a jail. On 1st layer down, there are bunch of cells and such. At back there is a hole in wall. Outside you will find that boss

How can I open the door next to the treasure chest, the room before that has a lot of urns.

The only door I don't know where it leads too, I am in NG+

I'd recommend killing Paarl first if you want more of a challenge, but you can save him till after the Forbidden Woods no problem. I would definitely beat him before clearing the area after the woods though.

i'll sweep woods 1st then :)

Endgame-ish question:
I know the umbilical cords have something to do with the ending and I have two right now. Do I need to do anything with them once I get all three? Or does the game let me know more specifically what I should do with them when I'm closer to the end?

For reference as to how far I am - the last boss I beat was T
he One Reborn
.

I've been playing it with my Sennheiser HD 558's hooked up to the Astro Mixamp. The sound quality has been fantastic. In some cases I'd argue it even helps you, since you can really pinpoint where enemies are around you. Other times it really adds to the atmosphere. Great sound design over all honesty.

I keep hearing about Eileen....

Is Eileen
the crow lady in the cathedral on the way to the sewers at the beginning? because she attacked me first and I killed her ass, so what now?

Eat 3 of them before "final" boss. You can eat them at any time I believe. But if you want to save them till it's time. Eat them when....

Chow them down at anytime. Some people wait till the end, create a backup save then chow them down so they can save scum the other endings

The game doesn't tell you shit about what to do with them. You will get a third from killing another late-game boss. If you want the specific ending, you need to consume (use) all three cords and beat (refuse) the final boss.

Now nothing. She and her quests & covenant are gone! I missed out on her too. Think game bugged out on me, never saw her again till late game when I missed my chance.

Nope. Just beat
Rom
, and one of my friends told me I missed the boss
Paarl
. But I thought I'd explored literally everywhere I could up until that point. Unless they're something really obvious I missed.

She becomes hostile if you talk to her after killing Rom, you can still kill her and get her badge to buy her stuff but you won't be able to get her gesture anymore

I can't decide which weapon to upgrade for my lvl4 run. I've been using the Cane because it has such good range, but I figure it's going to suck vs the tougher bosses. I really wish there were more upgrade mats available.

Just beat that Watchdog asshole in defiled chalice. Most intense fight yet. Also changing to more Fire resistant armor set helped alot lol.

Thanks guys. Wasn't sure if doing things too early would change the outcome. Onward and upward!

Nice! I had way more trouble with Amy than I did with the watch dog in defiled.

YESSS Defiled Watch Dog down!

My strategy:
- Never be far away enough where he can use his charge attack. With 50VIT+10% rune, this can still kill me in one hit even if I was clipped by it, or leave me with 1HP
- I baited his swings and followed up with Burial Blade L2. If he got knocked down I got a couple more hits in but didn't stay greedy.
- When he switches his attack pattern, I played it very safe because I only got that far in the fight one other time. I didn't attack until he whiffed an attack I was familiar with.

Gems:
1. Physical ATK UP 18.2%, ATK vs open foes UP 4.8%, WPN durability DOWN -54
2. Physical ATK UP 21.5%, Boost rally potrential 2.7%, increased stamina usage 2.9%
3. Physical ATK UP 18%

When it hits for counter damage I was getting like 1450HP per L2. Not bad! Only seemed to be like 450 for a regular hit, crazy difference.

50VIT with 10% HP rune, max stamina +20%, fire damage +10%. Wore a mix of white church/charred/bone ash set for fire res.

Btw where are those sweet 19/20+% gems with no downsides?! I need way more radial gems, most of my good ones are crescent.

Your gems are fucking insane, where did you get them ?

Cane is probably not a good choice due to missing out on all that skill scaling. It may be interesting to add some fire or bolt ATK up I guess, but you would probably be better off with a weapon with higher base damage.

I've used the cane for every boss, had no problems with it. But yeah, Waste of Skin has low skill. Just use the Axe.

what others places can you go from the
Lecture
Hall? I only see the
Nightmare Frontier

You can only go there now. Later in the game you will open up a shortcut from Lecture Hall floor 2, which connects to nightmare of mensis, down to lecture hall floor 1, but that is a very late game area
