Gotta admit, I feel a little bad for Boingo. Kid wants to change but then reality (or more specifically Iggy) bites his ass :T

Anyways, for anyone that doesn't really like fights like this, this is the last comedic fight of the part. It's all serious business from now on.

I expect a lot of dark blobs next week but hopefully it won't be that bad.

Between this and the other JoJo thread, I'm really questioning your taste in music.

If you don't think this is a joke I'm really questioning your intelligence.

Pretty sure that dog got censored in the Yellow temperance fight.

The only thing that got censored about that was the dog losing its head, which I think is more because of the gore like a lot of the other censors than any animal violence.

They never censored Dio kicking Danny in the face, so I think we'll be okay.

An okay episode for an okay fight. Watching Hol Horse shit himself was at least amusing. Iggy's finally gonna do something though. Pet Shop is such an asshole, I can't wait.

The prediction didn't come true! For reasons!
The prediction kinda didn't come true since Hol Horse fired to early, although it did sort of come true anyway. The bullets hit
in the face of jotaro inside the comic book, after all.

It came true, it just hit Jotaro's likeness instead of the real deal.

I think the time indicated the time of impact,Boingo just misread it;

Aw sheeit.

I shouldn't have doubted the predictions. The truly are 100% absolute, hai.

Wow, Boingo/Mondatta's stand is absolutely useless, then.

I also think I missed some information about how the damage a stand receives correlates to the damage the user receives. Was it ever said that only "humanoid" stands are the ones that will damage their user if they themselves get injured?

Oh shit. I never thought of that. Boingo should be dead.

My stomach hurt when Hol Horse goes ham when he got all panic LMAO..

Nice cool down before next fight that gonna kickstart the climax..

Alright, so I don't think it's explained in part 3, but I don't see any harm in explaining it right now, but there's 3 types of Stands:

Automatic, remote, and then relatively close-range Stands like Star Platinum/Hierophant Green/Magician's Red/Silver Chariot. Joseph's is obviously different but there's no official term for that kind of Stand, I don't think.

Thoth (Boingo's Stand) would be classified under automatic, and automatic Stands just.. work, and require no input or control from the user, and as a result, do not cause any damage to the user.

Remote would be something like Steely Dan's Stand, and does require direct control from the user, so any damage done to it would reflect back onto him. The one from the end of the first cour that could inhabit objects would also classify as a remote Stand.

What a bad episode.
Mondatta and Hol Horse were supposed to win, who has a watch that is that fast even. Impossible
.

Mondatta makes great faces all the time. Hoping he returns, best after Kakyoin.

Well I said it before and I'll say it again. I do not like Mondatta's stand.
It just ends up with an episode of misinterpreting information and hey look, this thing happened because it was destined to happen.

I seriously question the point of his stand. If something is destined to happen then reading about it won't change it. So therefore without reading the book Hol Horse would have stuck his fingers up Polnareff's nose, he would have shot down the sewer pipe of his own accord. All the stand does is give motivation to the characters to do stupid things (hey, let's not shoot them the book says to hide). And you can't question the characters thought process because it is fate and destined to happen. They have to do the outlandish thing!

Do we ever see Thoth? Or do we just assume the bullets hit the book and missed Thoth.

No, we never see Thoth itself. The rules regarding what happens to a Stand that is bound to a physical object if the object itself is damaged or destroyed are never really explicitly answered in the series because of the whole "Stand of the Week" format leaving little opportunity for recurring opponents of such a specific type.

So glad this two parter is done. Never cared about it in the Manga that much and I'm glad it's over. Let's move on to next week! That preview. Hype!

What about
D'arby's cousin/brother Gamer?

Since his stand does not take the form of his book, his Stand basically projects predictions in the form of comic book strips which appear in the blank book that Boingo carries with him.

Do we ever see Thoth? Or do we just assume the bullets hit the book and missed Thoth.

Not all Stands have a form; in the case of Tohth/Thoth, it simply projects its prediction powers unto Boingo's book. Any book could work in this case, and in doing so, the book would appear as such

Holy crap the last two episodes were incredibly padded. This could have easily been one episode and it'd be better for it.

I have to agree. Most of the time we had Hol Horse read the comic, then go "WTF is this?" and spacing out for a few seconds only for Boingo to say "It's zettai hyaku percento guaranteed to happen, はい!" and Hol Horse ended up going with it anyway while pelting the audience with "Why the heck am I even doing this?!" internal monologues, all while Boingo kept monologuing about how absolutely certain his stand's predictions are.

Thot's ability sounds like the exact kind of thing you don't want in a work of fiction, since it's obvious for the audience that the predictions will only be in the bad guys' favor only as long as they don't get to beat any of the protagonists. Then there's also the issue of the predictions being 100% certain, which means they'd come true regardless of whether you knew about them ahead of time or not, making the ability pointless in the first place.

I almost laughed at how the prediction managed to have Emperor's bullets go through Jotaro's head after all though, but I've got to say that Hol's watch being set ahead of the real time was quite the stupid deus ex machina.

Felt like the smugness was dialed back. Oh well. Still as enjoyable to watch as he was when reading or being completely broken in the arcade game.

Great episode. Iggy's expressions and Pet Shop's smugness were priceless. For Iggy's real debut (Geb doesn't really count) it's good at both characterizing him and showing off the The Fool. Not to mention Pet Shop is a pretty badass bird with a tough stand.

Pet Shop was fucking intimidating. Something about an enemy that doesn't talk and doesn't give a shit about negotiation and just wants to rip your guts out and chomp on them.
