Bloodborne |OT+++| ...and so the Nightly Hunt continues

I got to the second level of a rotten lower ailing loran root chalice and it's full of super strong NPCs. It's rough.

You may already be aware of this, but high depth (difficulty) Chalice dungeons are better taken as separate to the main game. The higher difficulties of dungeons are meant for characters that should be in NG+. You'll have a rough time if you're playing a character that just recently finished NG.

So I'm thinking of doing a dual blood tinge and arcane build. Is relying on a fire arm as a good source of damage reliable?

I don't have any experience with Arcane yet, but as for relying on a firearm for your damage, I don't quite think it would work. The highest Bloodtinge scaling firearm was only doing roughly 150-200 damage with regular shots with 50 Bloodtinge. ~700-800 with buffed shots to weak-points.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but i don't think it would work with relying on a firearm.

What's the best alternate weapon to Ludwig's? (Doing quality 25/25 build) I'm looking to upgrade something else before NG+ for a change of pace. Maybe Tonitrus and pump strength? Blades of Mercy and pump skill?

However, I am thinking I was bugged because the boss was STUPIDLY easy. I looked it up after and he never even went into his 2nd phase :| Pretty freaking dumb, From.

Yeah, theres quite a lot of bugs that can happen. On my second playthrough the first half of one boss didn't attack, and the second he only punched
Micolash
.

Also IDK if it was a bug or just the way I played but
Ebritas
only used about half its moveset in my battle.

Makes me wonder how many people are experiencing watered down boss fights and not knowing.

I'm in NG+++ with a lvl 130 character so yeah I know haha. I'm having a harder time with some of those NPCs than I've had with the final hunter in E
ileen
's quest in NG++ :@

Damn NG+ is no joke. I know I'll be able to beat it but I'm a little dissapointed that you need a really strong weapon to progress. I keep having to go back to my +8 ludwigs and +10 axe to beat tough areas. It seems like if you have another weapon thats only +6 its useless. I was trying to use this as an opportunity to try out other weapons

So what is the gimmick with the cai
nhurst summons? Does a stagecoach literally take me there? I've gone back to Hemwick but I don't see one.

I think I actually had more trouble with depth 3 and 4 dungeons than the final one. some of the enemies are just harder to deal with. I know what you mean.

You have to find a certain area. I'll spoiler the location if you want to look;
It's the area right before the witch boss, there's a stone spire in the middle of the area with the executioners and dogs, simply approach it.

There is a memory leak bug where if you keep the game on for 12 hours (or put it on suspend mode) the bosses fail to load their proper AI.

A really, really stupid bug. Oh, well. Still enjoying the game and bosses tend to be my least favorite aspect of Souls style games anyway.

Have you tried playing around with the offerings? I made a rotten offering for the first time on a depth 5 chalice and it really does make a difference.

A bit earlier I found one of those undeads wearing a large bell that alerts nearby enemies and didn't manage to kill him on time... A few moments later there were about 15 enemies running towards me. I don't know how but one of them put fire to the oil barrels that were laying in the room and created a huge explosion that killed quite a few of them and heavily damaged the others. It was a pretty cool sight haha.

Defiled chalice beaten.... So much death. So much yelling at my TV.

Edit: haha, wherever I go now after that I'm thinking "so this is what it feels like to be a god." So much health.

Fuck those singing creatures, you guys know what i'm talking about if you've run into them. Thought i'd be fine taking on a single one, nope; ended up losing 100k souls to it. :(

Only on the earlier depths. I didn't notice at the time, but I bet it does get gnarly on the higher depths.

The time I had about 8 summoned spiders chasing me was quite a sight as well. I actually survived, by some miracle.

These are one of my most dreaded enemies. Luckily, the Chikage takes them down, usually before they can get their grab off. But damn, screw these things.

Someone please ring their small bell in front of
rom
I've been trying to summon someone for days and I still haven't found anyone. ;~;

Umm.... I accidentally
killed this spider in the Lecture Building when I climbed down the ladder... Cons?

Did he drop a Rune? He gives you one if you initiate dialogue with him. Also gives a gesture. Apart from that, he can sometimes appear in chalice dungeons to sell you over-priced items. I don't think it's a big deal, personally.

Well it's patches so he won't push you down in one of the nightmares now. He also won't sell you things at rip off prices in the chalice dungeons.

Damnit! No I just owned him right away because I hate spiders. Thanks

I'm already in NG+ and recently reached the Cathedral Ward. About that door below you reach after the Giant with the ball and chain... does it ever open? I don't remember opening it during my first run.

I've seen it mentioned that it's the closed door behind the cleric beast. I don't know if that's accurate. I don't think it opens.

Heart is pounding right now had defiled
amygdala
to so little life I thought she was dead and almost dropped the controller because she looks like she was doing a death animation but no she killed me.

Next try she jumped on me one shot dead, didn't even get a hit off.

Took her down the next try though. Damn defiled chalice dungeons suck.

Anyone have some good tips for
Wet Nurse
?

Don't be greedy, one hit at a time seems to be enough. When she uses that purple mist to conceal herself just keep running from side to side until it's over. She has a charge attack, learn the animation and wait for it, her recovery is somewhat long so you'll have a change to get two quick hits and get out.
This is a video of my fight, it was the first try so I was very clumsy at first.

Yeah, I've read this too but I'm not sure.

That door is just Miyazaki trolling everybody.

The fact that it even has a prompt is mean :(

Ah ok, that was pretty much exactly what I was doing. Was wondering if there were any weaknesses I could exploit.

As soon as I jump down he does that wide area attack, it hits me, stuns me, as soon I'm good to go again he just does it again, I keep dodging and he just keeps doing it.

Tonitrus owned his shit. Owns most everything actually... I dropped down and landed a falling blow. Got hit once w area blast but jumped in w a barrage, regained my health and killed him w a second combo. Ended up being one of easiest bosses for me by far.

I was stuck on Martyr Longorious forEVER tho :/

Axe is the truth.

Saw Cleaver.

I tried every other weapon and I just went back to the cleaver. In my opinion, it has the perfect balance between speed with the short and the damage dealing with the long.

The scaling in this game is jacked. In the same time it takes you to wind up to hit, I can get 3 or 4 hits in the same amount of time to do the same damage. The stagger and the stamina bar hit more than make up for the deficiencies I encounter.

This game feels like it is all about the gems.

None that I know of but that's because I haven't searched :(
I think the main problem is that it might seem like you can get some hits in for free, but then you get punished for trying to go for more than you should have.

I'm quite surprised with the chalice dungeons.

Initially they're piss easy, but as you progress on, they get quite hard....

Bell Maiden + Realistic looking spiders = 70k blood echos lost lol

As soon as you see the red mobs, roll and dash till you see the bell ringer. I've toured an entire dungeon to only circle back and find the bell ringer nonchalantly walking through an area I apparently didn't explore well enough.
Those glowy red fuckers are no joke. They chase you to the ends of the earth.

I'm getting demolished in
Mensis and those damn arrows
. Like I can't even get passed the beginning. And twice I got invaded. Frustration hasn't been this high in a while.

It doesn't seem stagger folks much... though I suppose the fact that its longer form doesn't make your gun disappear is an advantage, plus it attacks faster.

I wonder though, about Visceral Attacks: what is the calculator for the damage it deals here? Is it based on your weapon power? Because if it so, then slow hitting weapons offer a much bigger advantage in terms of Viscerals, yeah?

So.... A few questions about some hidden stuff.
On my second playthrough and finally found Abandoned Old Workshop, which was amazing. There's a bunch of specters there (visions of people who died) and they're all attacking the doll. I tried, and nothing happened. What the fuck is going on with that? Is there a hidden fight there later or something?
