I just found the tontrus thing. It's pretty late game though so I main my axe and am not sure if I should replace the holy blade with this thing as my secondary weapon.

BTW can someone confirm this? When I first got captured by
death dealers and was brought to yahar'gul village, I explored the area and stumbled onto a boss after coming down from the dungeon to the outside cliff. Now after Rom, the entire place got more fucked up, and just wondering if that boss is gone as well, like all other enemies when I first arrived in yahar'gul initially
.

if you killed him already, he's not there

How do i dodge
gehrmans shock wave
?

if you're talking about when he jumps up in the air,
rush towards him. you should be able to hit him when he lands

Cant tell if
Wet nurse
is easy or I just got really lucky on my first try. Only had 1 blood vial when I got to her and still got her down to about 25% health before I died.

He is still there, no way those dudes will try to kill it.

Wait for the very moment when you see do the wind move and stepback, that move is intended to track you so if you evade earlier the wind will hit you anyway.

unfortunately it is a weird STR/ARC split for bonuses...I have one upgraded for the free bolt attacks but havent used it yet..

Beat it. 23 hours basically. Sadly I killed an NPC on accident that prevented me from doing something. I really don't think I want to replay the whole game (ng+ or fresh) for that though. But I'll be all over any DLC that comes out. I also missed at least one optional boss. I might pull down my backed up save and do that boss.

My first souls experience and I absolutely loved it.

So, who would win in a fight between
Gehrman, the First Hunter and Yharnam, Pthumerian Queen?

I love hypothetical boss fights xD

Gehrman would nuke her from orbit.

And then from that orbit Ebrietas would touch down and do the same to him.

As soon as you see the red mobs, roll and dash till you see the bell ringer. I've toured an entire dungeon to only circle back and find the bell ringer nonchalantly walking through an area I apparently didn't explore well enough.
Those glowy red fuckers are no joke. They chase you to the ends of the earth.

Yeah, I had 3 chasing after me non stop.

They seem to be a lot more aggressive than their normal counterparts as well.

Another aspect of the chalice dungeons which surprised me is the number of enemies which are only found there. In terms of enemy variety, From really outdid themselves.

It took me a week and a half to beat the game the first time and I missed like 5 optional bosses/areas. Today I beat NG+ and all the bosses and got the true ending in one play through starting at after the witch.

I'm ready for NG++ tomorrow.

I beat the game last night. It's my clear favourite game so far this gen, handily beating out Bayonetta 2.

Some thoughts on the final couple bosses:

First I fought Mergo yesterday. I beat her on my 3rd or 4th try. She was pretty easy, though not as much as a pushover as Micolash. Her attacks had very clear visual cues, and all I really had to do was evade/roll behind her, then swipe away. When she summoned her clones/purple mist, I pretty much just ran in circles dodging, without bothering to attack her even. A bit of a disappointing fight, to be honest.

Final boss was a lot of fun. I beat him on my 2nd try. Luckily I remembered to cloud save my file, so I have done 2 endings so far, and will probably go back and get the final ending tonight.

What a ride. I haven't played a game this addicting in ages; I had trouble putting it down. The sense of exploration and the rewarding gameplay really can't be matched by anything else I have played recently. Fingers crossed for DLC!

I think I have over levelled because I just beat vicar on my first go and apparently she is like one of the hardest bosses in the game. She didn't really get much opportunity to attack as I kept hitting her. Level 64 by the way

Easily double what people would normally fight her at lmao

Can any1 help me with Martyr Logarius? Died 5 times now T_T. level 55.

I am not in level range to help, but in case you didn't know
when he uses his magic attack that sends swords flying at you constantly, you can target the sword in the ground and destroy it with your gun or weapon and make the fight a lot less stressful. Some of his attacks can be parried once you get the timing down, and you can stun him
. Definitely not an easy fight!

I'm now stuck on
ebreitas and gehrman
neither of my bells works, I must have wasted about 40 insight trying to summon people over the course of the game to get no answer. I want to get more insight to buy stuff from the vendor but I can't be summoned by other players so I have to grind out echoes now.

I really dislike bosses that have a 1 hit kill mechanic to them so the last part of the game has been really frustrating for me.

I am currently level 75, is that about normal?

well i did it, i beat Bloodborne and got the Yharnam Sunrise trophy/ending. i missed ALOT of stuff and diddnt plan on beating the game this early, guess i gotta muscule my way though new game+ to see what i missed.

platinum'ed it tonight bros

not the guy who usually does that, my only other platinums are god of war 3 and the last of us

it was just that good, by far and away the best thing this generation has to offer so far

Damn yeah, I beat her at about level 30 or less. You're definitely up there haha. Maybe make yourself a handicap by using a weaker weapon in your arsenal. You wouldn't want to just breeze through the next few would you?

amygdala
in the
defiled
dungeon. man. ridiculous. that third phase just seems completely broken unless the way I used to beat her/it was the intended way:

got behind it's legs it kept spamming the jump attack.

This is why I always have my back to NPCs
Or hit start or the touch pad for the menu before depositing the controller...

Seriously though, has *ANYONE* ever defeat these arseholes in a *fair*, non-cheesy way? Not counting NG++++ since Hunters don't scale on New Game pluses.
Wait what?? Is that true? That explains why they were so easy the second time lol.... does this apply to named hunters like Eileen, Djura etc. too?

Wow, leeway for mistakes in a Souls game?! I suppose it would be easy to miss one if you happened to send a particular person to the wrong place near the start if you didn't pick up on a few veeeeeeeery subtle hints.
Or if you explore thoroughly. -_- I hate that on two occasions, the game punishes you for being good.
The first is Unseen Village pre-Rom. A cool secret area but you need to get killed to see it. I would have never found it if my friend hadn't told me about it, because I didn't die to the bagmen. Had to get myself killed on purpose to see it. Lame.

The other is Iosefka. I explored Forbidden Woods thoroughly way before reaching Rom *(since this area is before Rom after all), got the clinic shortcut, and of course Iosefka was hostile so I killed her. In NG+ I waited and came back later in the game and was surprised to see she was different, and killing her yielded an umbilical cord. How was I supposed to know I had to wait? I guess she does warn you to back away but come on, you can see she turned poor NPCs into alien things, she's evil, I wasn't gonna let her get away with this! :(

And of course I sent Arianna to the clinic in NG, before I saw Iosefka was evil (sent her to the Cathedral in NG+). I didn't entirely trust her, but I had no reason to entirely trust the Cathedral weirdo either, so I didn't really have any way to know it was more dangerous.

I guess that's why you have NG+ and I don't mind hiding secrets that aren't meant to be found easily in a first playthrough, but I dislike how good exploration is being punished in Iosekfa's case.

Thanks. Solo seem almost impossible. he got like galzillions movesets. I guess i will call it in. :d

Invest more points in VIT or experiment with different gear. I can't think of anything that one-hitted me from full health in the game.

I dunno, maybe xD. Where am I supposed to go after beating vicar? I've travelled everywhere in possibly could have gone prior to beating her but have forgotten which areas have doors I have yet to open

You got a
Password from the skull
at the back of the cathedral. If you've been everywhere you know where to use it.

Whats non-cheesy for you?
I usually sneak down the stairs and double-charge-visceral-attck the one on the staircase and try to spam him with attacks so he dies before the others make it there.
Then i run down, up the other side and through the side door. Once they lost me i return and do this with the guy in the middle. The one at the main gate is a piece of cake after that.
I don't see this as cheesing because the fact that all of them are on you when you sneakattack one of them only is kinda cheesy of the game itself actually.

I started the fight the same way, getting rid of one before the others get there really simplifies the fight and is a totally legit technique imo, stealth is pretty damn useful in that game.

I didn't really think things through when I did that though so I ended up running in circles up the stairs every time the other two started to corner me to heal and get a breather. Still managed to kill them both but I used almost all my vials and bullets.

Wow, wtf! I'll get #rekt with my 30 VIT.

I beat her yesterday on my second try (I have 30 vit as well) - she isn't that bad. Although I already beat her on NG+ beforehand so that probably affected my perception of the fight since I had a tactic down haha.
