Bloodborne |OT+++| ...and so the Nightly Hunt continues

Burial Blade is a skill weapon first and foremost. You get very small gains from Arcane even at +10, and pretty mediocre gains from STR as well.

Burial Blade kind I find a little underwhelming. It's moveset is great and you can regain huge amounts of health when you take damage but considering how big it is I find its damage a little too small.

Chikage though, that is a weapon. My Bloodtinge is only at 30 and I'm doing 600 damage with that sword. And it's FAST.

I'm frustrated that my Chikage is stuck at +8. I tried farming chunks but it took too long so I entered NG+. Have to press on to finally level to +10. Its slightly behind my +10 Kirkhammer right now, but thats because its not maxed and I should probably focus on Skill now (BT is at 30). Love Kirkhammer too though.

-Loading screens.
-FPS drops.
-Boss moveset bug (a big one)
-Online functionality is spotty at best.
-Invader system is fundementally flawed.
-Community systems are almost non existent (covenants)
-Chalice dungeon co-op is a BIG pain
-Build variety is lacking.
-Guns for the most part are all the same.
-Random bugs (such as elevator getting stuck, can't fight boss anymore)

Besides pointless vial grinding, and the fact it isn't consistently dropped by enemies in the game,

- Pointless warping to Hunter's Dream to warp somewhere else
- Vials and bullets don't replenish after an invasion so after every encounter you need to go through 2 loading screens if you want to be even with your opponent.
- The summoning system is bad, just bad.
- Trying to co-op or invade in Chalice Dungeons is hilariously bad.
- Chalice Dungeons, I assume, are supposed to be for end game replayability, but there is little to no reason to do them after finishing the final boss inside them.
- Weapon imbalance, stuck using Threaded Cane for so long while there are 6 more strength weapons I'll never use. Evens up at the end but sucks during the playthrough.
- This is just me, but I don't like the bosses. Most of them are easy, and they look pretty, but instant kill attacks are bullshit. I feel bad for my nephew. Don't tell me to git gud, I've already beaten some of the hardest bosses without using vials.

I don't really care to argue about this. I still like the game a lot, but it's not perfect.

Can't really argue about these complaints.

The summoning system is so bad that I never succeeded yet.

In DeS I found helpers whenever I wanted. In Dark Souls I never bothered with it but BB seems to do a bad job compared to DeS. Why not just going back to the notebook for summoning as well? Leave a message on the ground and whoever is in proximity can enable it.

Is it worth it on any weapon?

Are there any guns that does enough damage to make it worth levelling up this skill?
Ludwigs has good arcane scaling and the tonitrus does insaaaane dmg if you have high arcane and buff it. Its ok on the saw cleaver

You need bloodtinge in the 30-40 range for it to be worth it imo. The cannon and the evelyn does great dmg, especially with bone marrow ash

Ive been helping people with gascoigne for the past 30 minutes or so. I get summoned within a minute on average. I think alot of the problems with getting someone to help is that alot of people are either not progressing fast enough or dont want to help others.

Ive been playing Scholar of the first sin aswell and late game i didnt find anyone to summon or help so its prolly the same problem there.. With that said the matchmaking needs a bit of tuning but i wouldnt worry, it will get fixed

Edit: Oh i thought my message would get added to the one above if no one else had posted... sorry for double post

I find it weird that people are having problems summoning friends.

I coop'd with a friend a few times and the success rate has been 100% so far.

Sorry to hear that :(
Maybe rebooting your internet router helps?

umm well, it didn't work at first (I already did it before) but now after a second reboot it worked.
Internet is so weird sometimes... but thanks for the help!

I'm off to Ptumeru Ihyll guys!

Man these last 2 bosses
Ebrietas Daughter Of The Cosmos
and
Gehrman, The First Hunter
are really testing my resolve. I get them at around 30-50% and then I get thrashed. Have tried coop but I seem to only get people who are worse at it then me. :)

Any tips? Im currently level 71

Having the same issue as you. And nobody ever seems to be available to co op the first one on your list.

For anyone hunting for high end blood gems(hello evelyn + lost chikage users)

Cursed blood gem(all types rank 5/6 lvls 16-19)/ritual blood 5 glyph code: e99tdh9f - There is 5 witches(30k echoes total) if you head straight through the door from the 2nd floor ramp and head to to the right, enter the hallway and snipe out the witches(Depending on your stats you are likely to get one shot). You may need quite a few bullets so sacrifice life and heal outside of the hallway, then pot shot the witches from the corners of the hallway, killing the 3 on the left first if possible, then make your way in and use the elevator platform for cover to kill the remaining 2. Stay as close to 100% life as possible at all times. I recommend bringing a chikage to commit sudoku next to the lamp to safely gather your souls/restock vials+bullets.

For the first section of the dungeon do w/e you gotta do to get through, although I'd recommend a high phys ludwig for large enemies and viscerals/threaded cane with your best phys atk % gems for stunlocking mobs.

Managed to attain a Cursed Damp Bloodtinge with attack up 27.6%, +6.8 blood attack, -60 durability along with plenty in the 26.8%/6.1-8 blood atk up/random penalties in a 30min period. Do let me know if someone else is willing to host it as I may be taking it down soon. Also completely forgot what are in the treasure chests before anyone asks.

On that note, I'm trying to create a list of glyph codes with similarly style optimized farming spots so please pm me if you have any of your own.

Axe is the truth.

Indeed, my +0 axe is way better than my +6 hammer.

The Tonitrus is cool, I guess, but the low durability makes it so it can't be my main weapon, I need something else to go with it.

I might restart this character and go for Axe + Tonitrus instead of the Kirkhammer. I also regret getting the cannon, super powerful but super boring. I should have spent more of those points in vitality and endurance instead of pumping my STR just to use the cannon.

Tonitrus is OP as hell. So is Ludwig's. So is Hunter Axe.

I enjoy both STR and SKL builds personally.

Ludwig's isn't really STR though, isn't it Quality?

Or 2 tonitrus!

Are there any other sidebosses I can do before I finish up in Y
ahar'gul
? I've already been to the N
ightmare Frontier
and defeated that boss, but I'm looking to push whatever I can before I go further because I'm not really enjoying Y
ahar'gul
:p

You people dissing the Kirkhammer are crazy, it's awesome. I've got quite a few other weapons at +9/10 but always end up going back to the hammer. The sword's great for stunlocking enemies and the hammer's great for dishing huge damage in a single strike.

It's frustrating, any videos on youtube of people beating them seem to be cheesing them or just getting lucky yet I actually try to learn their movesets and when to dodge and I still can't beat them.
Ebrietas
can be stunned easily with
a headshot with the canon. In general aim for the head

Gehrman
seems highly dependent on you weapon. But I generally find that dodging to the right makes most of their attacks miss.
In his powered up form
you need to be super agressive and stick close to them while constantly dodging right and chipping away at them when you get the chance. Staying at a distance will get you killed easier. They can be parried the whole battle too though it's harder in the second half.

Are you able to share play BB nowadays?

I did it!

kind of regretting not pressing X before the trophy snap but WHATEVER WE PLATINUM

Gotta say after running depth 5 root chalices for a week with all mods active, Pure phys ludwig/pure phys threaded cane gives you all the raw damage, stunlocking and crowd control you need to handle any dungeon portion of a chalice(although working over cannon giants with the threaded canes l2 is a pain). Elemental blades of mercy for stunlocking hunter types comes in handy pretty well too.

Made it to level two of the defiled chalice.
Too many OHKs. Too cheap.
And to summon someone has to be in your exact dungeon,
Just being in the same defiled chalice dungeon is not enough....

...so I went into the wiki Fextra defiled chalice dungeon but it's still hard to summon and I haven't had success with it yet...

...so far does the community have any widely used public chalice dungeons?

Quick question - here are my current stats and weapons (in short, I'm level 68, 24 VIT, 30 END, 19 STR & 26 SKL, and I'm using mostly Ludwig, Blade of Mercy and Kirkhammer, all of them +6, with some Saw Spear +5 here and there).

Am I overleveled for some of the bosses that I've yet to meet? I just beat
Shadow of Yharnam
and I'm currently at
Byrgenwerth
. I also finished
Nightmare Frontier, Hemwick, Old Yharnam, Cathedral Ward
, and I defeated
Darkbeast Paarl
. I have a feeling that I'm totally overleveled :/

I found my way to the back of the clinic, when I entered a room with some stairs a voice told me to turn back so I did.

I assume this is a boss? Not sure if I should fight it if so, my next boss is the Shadow of Yarnham I think

Meh. That's weird. I wonder why it's like that.

Btw, to people who platinumed the game (congrats!), what was your level when you did?

130. I could have probably done it a bit lower but I wanted my stats to look good (all of them are a multiple of 10 haha).

Amygdala is defiled chalice dungeon is kicking my ass. Seems like I'm fighting two bosses, amygdala and the camera.

Don't lock on if you plan to fight it up close. If you stay far away then locking on works pretty well in my experience.

It's not a boss, but don't go in until later when you kill a specific boss.

Yeah don't

engaging now would take away one of your opportunities to unlock the hidden ending.

You did good, go back there
once you defeat the spider.
.

Did you at least
unlock the shortcut to Central Yharnam?

Thanks,

I did unlock the shortcut back to the clinic if thats the one you mean

I was 133 at the end. I didn't really feel the need to level up past 110 or so but you just get so many souls on the latter dungeons it's hard not to
