130. I could have probably done it a bit lower but I wanted my stats to look good (all of them are a multiple of 10 haha).

I was 133 at the end. I didn't really feel the need to level up past 110 or so but you just get so many souls on the latter dungeons it's hard not to

Oh man haha, I'm lvl 160 in NG+, but I think I'll stay at that level if I want to do some PvP and co-op.
Besides, I haven't finished the Chalice Dungeons yet. I found them a little boring and repetitive but I read there were some interesting items.

Quick question, I had enough blood shards to get Threaded Cane +2 but if I invest echoes into Skill it doesn't seem to raise my dmg output much. Is this right? I've only just started so I'm only at 14 SKL and playing Lone Survivor base stats with +1 in END

Amygdala is defiled chalice dungeon is kicking my ass. Seems like I'm fighting two bosses, amygdala and the camera.

If you want to go the safe route that minimizes camera issues, use a leveled up hunters axe(ludwigs works well too but has less range which is imporant for this strat) and kite the boss by strafing around it to make sure he faces you/you have enough room to backdash out of harms way if he bellyflops. If you maintain a close enough distance he'll start to i initiate the ground pound with each hand, back dash out, then immediately run in between his arms as the second fist lands. His head will drop and allow you to get a fully charged 2 handed r2 with a follow up r2 for the axe or follow up l2 for the ludwigs, rinse and repeat. Just make sure to double backdash for the 2nd form, as the lightning coming off the ground pound will hit you at the previously safe distance. You still have enough time to run in and hit his head with an r2 or with the right iming a charged r2.

With the third form(when he tears of his arms to slam down) play it safe and dash off to whichever side has the most room then go for a running r1 on his arms, or gun shots to the head to finish him off.

Finally got a chance to sit down for an extended time and play. Got to the cleric beast and beat him first try ^o^ . Played a bunch of demon souls and a tiny bit of dark souls but still consider myself a newbie to this series.

Was I supposed to level before taking on the CB it seemed like the fight took forever

The point per point increases might seem small at first, but they do add up quickly. Also, each higher level fortification raises the percentage of how much your stats increase the attack power in addition to increasing the base attack power. A +6 weapon gains much more power from your stats than a +2 weapon.

Probably. You get the ability to level from meeting CB. Or any boss. Or finding a madman's knowledge.

Thanks, so I need blood shards and echoes more I guess than just echoes...

Threaded cane has pretty minimal gains until it's leveled up further with the scaling increases and phys atk % gems.

If you're set on using it now with the low damage output your best bet is to use it in whip form while maintaining max distance to group up smaller enemies and kill them with the r1 from a distance. Against large enemies you can cause them to flinch with a max range r2 or backdash r2 which gives you enough time to back off and set it up again. Wouldn't really ever recommend using it in cane form unless you're in a small enclosed room.

Because I was sort of tired of fighting either Eb
rietas
and Lo
garius
I decided to go on a few Chalice Dungeons and seek some sort of fun either invading or helping out. At level 67, the first three dungeons are a breeze, and the fourth is doable although I've only beaten level 1.

But invading, wtf, does this ever happen? Where do I go? I keep tingeling but nothing happens. Is everyone at NG+, or what the deal?

So far the only online experience I have is just reading a bunch of messages on the floor. I've successfully summoned help once and invaded twice.

I would really like From to make this easier to do.

If you guys have a tip for Eb
rietas
, though? That one's quite hard.

Lo
garius
is a really fun fight though. Hard as nails, but fun.

Anyone want to help me beat Vicar? I'm level 28 and need some help. I already rang the bell
And have the GAF password
Im not home atm but if you still have trouble in around 2 hours ill be online by then

Once you have defeated the last boss of the Lower Hintertomb Chalice, you will receive the Short Ritual Root Chalice which can be used at the Makeshift Altar in Hunter's Dream. This will allow you to quick search for Chalice Dungeons to join as the guest, host or invader. You can only pvp in root or sinister chalices

Thanks that helps, it has felt really weak to be honest. Like three hits even with +2 aganst the pitchfork guys....

That sounds cool, if it works. I was mainly talking about co-oping or invading in the 'story world' though.

Chalices are a bit boring IMO.

I'm almost finished my NG (just M
ergo's Wet Nurse
and the endings to go), and I have a few questions.

I'm aiming for the platinum. With that in mind, are there any materials I'd need to farm to open Chalice Dungeons that are specific to areas later in the game? I don't want to finish the game only to realise I have to play up to a certain point in the story again to obtain items necessary for the Chalice Dungeons.

Also, does anyone have a link to a comprehensive guide for the Chalice Dungeons? i.e. the best and quickest route to Y
harnam
etc.

I do want to play a NG+, but I'd honestly prefer to get as much cleaned up in my NG as possible first (I know the Dungeons don't scale when you start NG+).

Oh sorry i just asumed you were talking about chalice invading. As for normal co-op and invading i think your lvl is a bit high unless you are in the very late game stages like nightmare of mensis, alot of people beat the game at your lvl. You can almost always find someone to invade in nightmare frontier though

Finished F
orbidden
W
oods
today. Oh man, it was AMAZING. Such a huge and twisted level. Loved it.
Fuck those snakes tho and their pincer attack.
But I strolled through with my
Cane +6 & Bolt paper and Tonitrus +6.

Ok . I added you on PSN. You have a walrus as your profile picture right ?

This probably has been asked, but it is bothering me..
That floor door in Byrgenworth - The one with the chain on top of it and when you ring the bell it won't work standing on this particular door.. What is underneath it?

How do I do back step attacks? Never got one to work.... Is there a good article that has a list of all possible moves and the button combos that you can use?

Don't think there is any way to open that door atm. just like the door in
Cathedral Ward
.

DLC door? Cut content door?

With this game I won't think there would be much cut content. It feels for a long time like the first title this isn't the case. Sixty € well spent.
might be dlc, or it is there to just make people think about it without any further purpose.

Awwww Yiiiiss!!!!! Y
harnam
down!!!

Overal Ihyll was WAAAAAYYYYY easier than the friggin Defiled Chalice.

I skipped the optional doors though. Anything important there other than Chalice mats?

Now I just need the endings for my first PSN Platinum trophy ever!

well absolutely fuck that shitty fucking bug
up against rom in the chalice dungeons, take my time killing all the spiders of the first wave and when he goes to phase two obviously new spiders spawn, and all the ones I have killed come back too

edit; shitty bug#2
do too much damage in first phase, spawns in second phase and immediately goes to phase 3

Yeah, I had that happen every attempt I did on him.
It happens when you do too much damage in the first phase, so he teleports twice effectively spawning two groups of adds. It happens in the normal version of the boss too, but the arena is far bigger so it isn't as big of an issue.

I just accepted it. You could also just try and hold off on the damage first phase.

Does the beckoning bell even work? I've been trying to use it to get help against The One Reborn and all it's done is waste my insight without actually finding someone to help me :/

Just beat W
itch
of H
emwick
at lvl38, am I overleveled or was the boss just easy? I killed it on first try going in blind.

You may already be aware of this, but high depth (difficulty) Chalice dungeons are better taken as separate to the main game. The higher difficulties of dungeons are meant for characters that should be in NG+. You'll have a rough time if you're playing a character that just recently finished NG.

I don't have any experience with Arcane yet, but as for relying on a firearm for your damage, I don't quite think it would work. The highest Bloodtinge scaling firearm was only doing roughly 150-200 damage with regular shots with 50 Bloodtinge. ~700-800 with buffed shots to weak-points.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but i don't think it would work with relying on a firearm.

That sucks to hear. Was hoping to try a different build that relied on firearms.

Anyone knows if arcane is good? Especially later on when you can add elemental damage to your weapons?

The game for me changed completely once I got the blades of mercy. Such an elegant weapon! The dodging, the running r2. The combos and the weapon switch animations are just god tier. I like invading players just so I can activate my blades and look cool lol.

Looks like I'm going to be forced into a second playthrough on NG+.

Going for the platinum and in my first playthrough I pushed the hunter in Old Yarnham off the tower, but he fell into the abyss and I couldn't retrieve his badge. And, slight spoilers
I didn't realise the cannibal from the Woods was killing all my NPC's in the chapel, so Arianne is dead, and I killed Isosefka before killing Rom. GG.

How long/difficult is NG+ taking folks? Bearing in mind I've been killing every boss I've met in under five tries.
