Um, there most certainly is a tedious level in Halo 4. After Chief takes the Pelican and you have to ride the INCREDIBLY slow gondola. Is the section hard? Meh, maybe on Legendary, but it sure as hell takes forever.

Edit: Shutdown. That's the name. Whole thing is tedious.

The gondola part is better than the utterly pointless Pelican sections. What a waste of an idea. It's like a worse version of New Alexandria from Reach.
I know I'm in the super minority, but I really enjoy the Halo 4 soundtrack. Especially "To Galaxy" (Mid track.. goosebumps!), "117" (Love it, and love when it's used in the game), "Revival" (The perfect Forerunner track IMO), and my personal favorite "Arrival" (Just feels so epic to me, as if overcoming such a struggle).
Since the soundtrack to 4 was released before the game came out, I listened to it over and over trying to figure out what was going to happen.. since the titles didn't really give any hints."Arrival" always felt like John-117 was fighting his way to get to/save Cortana from something, which sorta panned out correct.
I don't think it's better than 1-3, but I feel like it is successfully it's own thing.
To me the 1-3 soundtracks covered the Human/Covenant war, I used to listen to those soundtracks while I was reading the novels (Total immersion LOL). Now I put on Halo 4, not sure entirely why, but to me it clicks more with the post-Halo 3 universe.
I am really looking forward to seeing how the Halo 5 soundtrack turns out, the samples (even in bad quality) sound good. I would be remiss if I didn't say I'd enjoy a little more chanting though!

The 4 OST was quite fitting to the Promethean threat and exploring new, alien places, but it was mixed so poorly in-game. There are so many times that the score suddenly starts or stops without warning, and isn't aligned with what's happening. When they mix it right... It SHINES... But sadly, it's almost 30/70 for when it's mixed right and when it's mixed obnoxiously.
Stand-alone, the OST is fantastic.
In-game, it feels madly disjointed.
Close your eyes and listen to mc's live action trailer. Pretty sure we'll be getting some chanting in Halo 5.
Halo 5 - Master Chief Trailer (Halo 5 Guardians):
Yup, this is what kills the soundtrack in-game. Yeah I can definitely see that. I think since I listened to it a bunch before playing the game I didn't notice as much. Hopefully 5 is much better in that respect, 1-3 were amazing with not just the music itself, but it's placement and use (All Hail Marty in his Ivory Tower!).
True true! I seem to remember hints of chanting in the early Halo 4 trailers.. could be mistaken, but yeah definitely seems they're working on extending the theme.
(Funny story, I clicked on that link (to see the Master Chief #HuntTheTruth trailer) and YouTube played the same trailer as an add in front of it. Thanks I guess? Haha)
Chapter 7 at Halo 4, and I'm not sure wich campaing I'm enjoying the most, if that's Halo 3 or Halo 4! Both extraordinaries campaings!
I like not to have to fight the flood though. Besides I liked them in Halo CE and Halo 3, I much prefer Elites, Brutes or Furerunners over Flood!
Yes yes. I so greatly enjoyed Halo 4, and still do. It's not perfect, but man, dem feels.
I'm still quite lost at the game lore though. I'll read the Halo Lore thread to understand what's really going on, specially in Halo 4.
Just watch this first: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bznq4Zr2gTw

We get it you really love H4... (which i cant understand)
And im not really sure if you are serious.
Man i really hope H5 is a big step up over H4... it needs to. But who knows... i dont have any faith anymore for this franchise. Really cant get hyped anymore for Halo stuff.

You can do that?!Just skip the first two towers. It's what I do.

How will 343 handle terminals in Halo 5? I really don't see the same method linking to way point for it to work like Halo 4 required instead of being on disc. Idk if the app still exists.Just watch this first: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bznq4Zr2gTw

Halo 4's campaign was phenomonal, definitley in general and personally even by Halo standards. It'd really be interesting to see just how much of the loud negative audience is simply referring to their hatred towards the multiplayer. The multiplayer has problems, i definitley get that. The production value, quality and story of the game were top notch.
I see no reason why Halo 4 can't stand amoung the first three, when refrencing the campaign/story. So good.
This "but the single player was great" motion has already been completely annihilated on GAF.

Which I agree with fully
But I disagree with that post.
see how that works?
People need to stop trying to "prove" to people it's objectively bad. Similarly other folks should stop with the opposite.
Opinions man. Mine is that it is a fantastic game, one of my all time favorites, obviously you feel otherwise. And that's ok. Realize it, accept it, get over it.
Everyone.
It wasn't proof, it was annihilation. There hasn't been a counter post of any weight which adequately accounts for the failings of Halo 4.

Halo 4 had a great story between Chief & Cortana. Wasn't perfect but it was good.
I think you're forgetting some basic concepts such as subjective values and opinions.
Just because nobody could be bothered to write a mini-essay on the subject doesn't mean the view isn't valid.

And you tell me only AFTER I've run through the game on Legendary solo... twice?
Yup, same here.Woah this is news to me also. Dagnabbit! Time to beat that par time!

Thank you Welfare!
The Forerunner trilogy vs the K5 trilogy, too (some of the best vs the worst books in the EU, except Primordium). Great, then Terrible. Ugh.
I maintain that I adore the K5 trilogy, and no one's even forcing me to say that!
The character BB was worth it almost all on his own.
He's the only good part imo. The rest of it is coloured with uninteresting characters, questionable motives and character assassinations of existing characters, as well as the whole Halsey is evil thing.
I understand why they did it; they wanted to setup the next trilogy of games. ONI, the Storm Covenant and the Arbiter are all concepts that the trilogy had to advance in order for them to be in Halo 4/5. I just hope that Halo 5 actually offers the satisfying conclusion or partial conclusion to the Halsey plotpoint, which is what Frankie said a while back.

I don't think you can really say "they" did the Halsey thing; it fits the pattern of Karin Traviss' previous works.
But at no point have i claimed my opinions were fact, nor that perceptions of Halo 4 were beyond subjectivity. Attempting to hide behind that idea simply comes across as lacking confidence in Halo 4 itself.
It's no coincidence that there are an abundance of substantially researched and critically intelligent posts which shred Halo 4, yet few to none which make a case for it being a quality title. This trend points towards people liking Halo 4 for reasons outside of the actual quality of the title itself, which of course is valid but it doesn't make it a good game.

People who are upset are typically the loudest. You know, that whole quote/saying.
Halo 4 was a great campaign, not the best Halo campaign. Stating it being bad is a fact, with no room for subjectivity, simply means you don't belong on a discussion board. Period.
