Just tried Bloodletting Beast, I died with it having 5% of its health, I'm never locking onto it again, the camera shitting the bed totally fucked me.

Go to to the library first floor. It should be sitting out in the hallway. Apparently that's where the bloodstains go whenever you exit the game.

I've been kicked due to network errors a couple of times tonight. Really annoying.
Thanks for the tip, I had no idea. I've lost hundreds of thousands of blood because of that.

Would play.

That game needs to happen.

forgive me if this is stupid, but where is this library you speak of?

For anyone looking for a high level farm spot, let's say for vials for your Defiled Chalice attemps, I found that the most effective spot is in the first Ailing Loran Chalice Dungeon, in the very first room right after the layer one lamp. It's a large room full of those old ladies, they're pretty easy if you're not reckless. Clear the full room (two minutes? three?) for almost 30k blood echoes, run back to the lamp and repeat. You can make 90k in three runs in 10-12 minutes, and buy 100 vials, or a level or whatever.

Better kill those Ninjas and pigs after Micolash - equip the more echoes runes, especially the one for visceral attack and you bank 45k echoes from the pigs alone. :)

Yeah, I've heard of that spot, it's probably better, but I beat the game and I'm not there yet on my NG+ :(

I enjoy the gameplay and I've played every instalment since Demon's Souls, but... When did we come to the conclusion that these games weren't cheap?

Yesterday I walked up to a closed door; giant invisible hand came out and killed me in one hit. No indication it was there, no danger signs, alot of progress and blood echoes lost.

I was also standing in front of where a lift should be, but it was ascended and so there was a hole in the floor. I looked down the hole and could clearly see the texture at the bottom indicating a floor. It was only a few metres deep. In previous Souls games, there are often secrets hidden in these areas. I jumped off, fell through the texture and died.

I also encountered an area in which there was 2 enemies up on 2 separate ledges firing at me, with 2 big enemies below them which I had to fight whilst being shot at. I found a way to kill on of the enemies that could shoot, but I looked for a long time and found no way to reach the other. How is that not cheap? Putting enemies in areas where they can snipe me from miles away but be unable to kill them myself?

WTF?

1- It has an explanation, farm 40 insight and you'll see what I'm talking about.

2- No idea.

3- There's another route that ends with you on top of both enemies and you can take them out silently.

Did anyone else run into the elevator glitch for the Altar of Despair? Sucks that I can't try to do that boss until I reach that area again in NG+....

The lift worked fine one time but then I feel into it the second time like a idiot. After that it refused to come up when I hit the switch..

You get a good 2-3 second warning in the form of a bright, loud, glowing orb before you're killed this way.

i do the second layer of the Ailing Loran Chalice Dungeon using the moon runes. I can get about 70k blood echoes in about 2.5 mins.

So regarding Rom
I ran into him again in the chalice dungeon. I stood in one spot and his ice attack never hit me. I've confirmed that it always targets in front of you, which ever way you are facing.

Interesting. Never thought of trying it that way. I used the pillars to LOS him.

Same for me. The problem is when a reload screen is triggered while the lift is moving. So you have basically two scenarios:
- fall down and dieing on the button, triggering the elevator and having the reload screen while it's moving
- being summoned while traveling on the elevator

The first happened to me. Now it says that you can't use the device, sometimes you get the animation but the lift is still stuck down. I won't complete the game until they patch this. It's not really game-breaking but is always an optional boss. While it's taking all this time to patch it?

Thanks for the heads up regarding point 3, assuming we're talking about the same area. I searched for ages though and couldn't find a means to get to the last guy.

I must have missed it.

Yup, happened to me when I fell down there. I've got a save backed up so when they patch it I can go and give it a shot but at this point I'm so far into NG+ I may as well just do it when I reach it again.

I must have missed it.

You probably get there through a tunnel, you're are talking about the area that follows the two hunters: one with a Tonitrus and one with a rifle, right? after that you have a route with a Bagman, and another one with the tunnel, you can jump off the cliff where the bagman is to reach the sniper enemies.

Use coins for that :)

Quick question, can I kill
Alfred
at any time and still get the
wheel hunter badge
? I just started ng+ and was thinking about doing it on the first meeting.

Just finished off The O
ne Reborn
. First try he just slaughered me with one special attack (shouldn't haved locked on him, as he was so big), but the second time I got him.

What a briliant looking boss by the way. Absolutely loved it.

So far everything is going pretty well. Lost some large amounts of echoes on some occassions, but could invest most of what I collected in my character so far. I feel I'm a tad overpowered at the moment, which I don't mind as I was extremely bad in the Souls-games and now I have the feeling I'll actually be able to finish this one.

I'm itching to play some more but I've got nothing to do. Checked the timer after finishing the game + all pre-made chalice dungeons and it was 29 hours.

Game really could have used a couple more areas on the main path. Eliminating the trepidation aspect of a first playthrough this easily feels like the shortest souls game by a big margin taking into account traversable area. You had a reason to do NG+ in other games with boss souls, high requirement magic etc. Here it's just for the hell of it. Upon reflection I don't care too much for the bosses either (some fun ones in the chalice dungeons though). Game is super fun to play but it's lacking in meat.

Hopefully the DLC is serious.

Man the swamp in the Nightmare area is no joke. Lots of poison and some ugly ass creatures. Killed the bell maiden at least.

Beat M
icolash
(first try!) and M
artyr
L
ogarius
in NG+ today and it feels good!
L
ogarius
was so annoying D:

I'm horribly lost in NF. I unlocked the shortcut after the giants but have no clue where to go. Lower area with the slugs and brain does not seem to go anywhere. There's a huge drop near the start that seems to go to an even lower area but I don't know how to get there. Help!?

So I'm in the
Nightmare Frontier
. Finally unlocked the shortcut before the boss (at least I think I did). But, I feel awful underleveled. First, I tried
Yahar'gul
, got to the second lamp, pressed on, made absolutely no progress on the
three hunters battle
, and decided to try
Nightmare Frontier
instead. It's a tad easier, but the difficulty of this game seems to have spiked significantly since
Rom
.

For the record, I'm level 61 and I've got 22 insight (if that matters). I don't even know where I'm supposed to level anymore. It seems like all the areas that give enough blood echoes I can't survive long enough to accumulate 20K+ souls.

Also, wtf
Braintrust
. I get frenzied no matter how fast I kill the damn thing. :(

Disclaimer: This is genuinely not intended as a brag post.

But is it just me or does the difficultly dramatically drop off in the 2nd half of the game?

During the first half I struggled pretty hard on
Father G, BSB, and Amelia
.

Granted I have not triggered the final fight yet but I've one-shot every single boss after
Rom
excluding
Ebrietas

I've heard about the memory leak that supposedly makes the game easier by disabling certain enemy attacks, but does this apply to bosses? I normally play for 2/3 hours at a time and then exit the game from the menu and put my system into rest mode. Could I still be susceptible to the leak if I'm not completely powering the console down?

Got to vent. Was playing Ailing Loran Chalice I believe, the one with the
remake BSB
. Who I have to kill next. However, anyone brave the door path before
BSB
? Damn. Two werewolves in two rooms with two summoners constantly spawning spiders is insane. It takes about 5 hits to kill each spider with the cane (I should have grabbed the blood stone before this, cause I was +9) and two summoners can push 8+ spiders at once! Two hits from the spiders, you are probably done. And they can travel between the rooms. WTF. I spent a long ass time on this part, for minimal reward.

Strategy:
1. Kill two grunts in the first hallway
2. Quickly kill first werewolf cause the spiders are on their way.
3. Keep killing wave and wave until you can push to the next room.
4. Watching the floor trap, lure the 2nd werewolf out of his room. Kill him while trying to maintain the wave of spiders.
5. After he is dead, push forward into the werewolf room, killing the spider waves as they come. Push them as far back so you have a clear lane to the next room.
6. Sprint straight forward, jump two levels down, and quickly kill the further summoner before the spiders can get to you.
7. Run like a crazy back to the 2nd werewolf room. The spiders will be chasing so you might have to backtrack further.
8. Start killing the spider waves again and pushing forward back into the summoner room. There should be less spiders now since the one summoner is dead.
9. While things are pacified a bit, gain ground and kill the last summoner.

Alt strategy:
Do all the above except do item 6 before anything else. Then run all the way back to the starting lamp hallway as spiders will be chasing. This is actually what I did on the successful run cause I didn't want to waste time killing everything if I'll end up dead.

Anyone else take on this pain in the ass trek? I haven't screamed obscenities like that in a long ass time. Probably since Mega Man.
