So about that movement shown in one of the trailers.. I'm talking about
"shadowstep" where the player turns into mist while evading
. How does one get it? Is it something you can miss?

You need the
Old Hunter Bone
found in the
Abandoned Workshop, by going down the hole in the "tower" before Upper Cathedral Ward
.

It's kinda meh because it wastes 6 bullets and last barely a couple of secs. needs to last longer. I still sometimes use it in PvP.

Your looking for the
Old Hunters Bone
. It's an item that changes your roll into that ability for a short time.

Aaaannnd done whew this game sure tested my patience at the end :P
As a bonus yesterday I went back to 2 optional bosses(
Martyr Logarius and Ebriatas
) that I did not manage to beat and I kicked their asses .

OK so maybe I'm was not paying attention to the story but is it me or the best ending is the
Bad, where you accept the old hunter offer and let him kill you
? the other two are pretty meh

I will probably watch ENB other videos since the story was very hard to follow , I had no problems with Souls games but this one was a mind fuck for me especially after killing
Rom

Has anyone who ordered the strategy guide from Amazon received any shipping update? I ordered back in March and Amazon shows the release date as today, but they still say they need more time to update the shipping information.

Nope. Seems like it's delay again.

40 is enough if you have runes that boot your health. Atleast I managed with that amount. There were stuff that killed me in one hit but most of the time I survived the attacks. Also even with 50 vitality you still die pretty fast.

Nah I did with 41, just equip some VIT runes. You aren't going to get away from being two-shotted by bosses with a couple of VIT points more.

I stopped at 120 myself, mainly because I wasn't sure I could beat the latter Chalices at 100. I should be still in range for PvP against fellow level 100 players.

40 vit at level 120 isn't like 40 at 100, since your base defense increases with every level.

If bosses still kill you in 2 hits then I don't think it's gonna be a problem, the defiled chalice wasn't that hard on my other level 12p character (50 vit), the hardest boss was WotoL, & I beat him on my third try. My worry is more PvP related, there's a 30% health penalty to invaders.

I personally liked the "middle" ending where
you replace Gehrman
, I found it more fitting to the theme & story of the game.

yes.
the elevator to right of the first lamp in yhargul, then you can run to the saucer/bath to teleport. it brings you just to left of the boss door

speaking of the saucers, does anybody know whats up with the saucers with the dead bodies in them? the glowy ones? I'm scared to hit them but if you touch them it hurts you.

vitality is overrated for PVE....as long as you can avoid the OHK, it doesnt really matter how long your bar is...if you got vials you just have to heal more quickly on the fly. Whenever I am limiting my levels vitality is the first to stay low....I am at the defiled dungeon right now, and just beat the emissary at level 85 or so, and have 23 vitality. PVP is another story but still it hurts to put any points there.

You're going to have to perfect
Watchdog
and
Amygdala
with 23 vitality in the defiled dungeon.

Just beat the second Defiled Dungeon boss. Feels so goddamn good. First one was relatively easy, but this one took some 40+ tries. On to the next one...

my vote is a little higher so that you can still do chalice dungeons half assed...shtuf is getttting tough there right now at 85...(im about to start the defiled as soon as i get the materials.)

Yeah, I think 100 is too low, it puts arcane builds & some bloodtinge builds (like cannon bloodtinge) at a disadvantage, while skill, strength, & quality builds peak very early at 90-100.

So what you're saying is it's not the size of the boat but the motion of the ocean?

It depends, if they one shot you at that level, then yeah you need to perfect them, but if they still two shot you it's not gonna make any difference.

I just want to say that I have never played a souls game ever. I bought bloodborne purely to find out what the hype is all about and I wasn't expecting much based on the footage I saw. I just beat shadow of yarnham and I can honestly say this is my favorite ps4 game. And my favourite game in the last few years. What an experience!

You can lead the giant mass of skull monsters into them, and they get weak and super easy to kill.

They one shot me at 50 vit with some of their attacks, so I'm going to guess than less than half that will always one shot you.

nice, thanks. I could of used that earlier :) Now I have to deal with the prick on the bridge that gases me to death in Nightmare of mensis. The spiders were easy peasy.

So i finished the story and got the
ending where we stays on a wheel chair, i heard about a true ending but now i have to start a new game right? Is there a way to speed run to the last part? Also, is there a tutorial were for optional bosses? Thank you all

My Chikage is specced out with 26.3%/27.2%+ Damage runes endgame is coming...
My Evelyn has an alright +5HP/S Gem to deter a little bit of the blood degen.

If only I could fashion souls with gem slots in all my shit.

how many souls do you need for a level right now?

oh man don't rub salt in the wound :)

I got greedy with 165,000 when I reached nightmare of mensis and I came so close to dieing twice. I heard a guy glitched echos and he was up to 400,000 per upgrade! crazy.

I don't have a link but the only mandatory bosses off the top of my head are:

Gascoigne
Vicar Amelia
Shadows of Yharnam
Rom
The One Reborn
Micholash
Wet Nurse
Gerhman (for true ending)

I cant wait to get this weapon. My sword in a sword is lvl 9 but I have enough mats to upgrade the Chikage to 9 as well (reminds me of shadow warrior)

does the Chikage work well with a mostly Arcane build?

270k is around what I make per ~10 minute farming run at the start of
Forbidden Woods
in NG+.

I've done that short run down to the
cannon
so may times now I could probably do it with my eyes closed, but it gives out a lot of echoes and a tidy amount of bullets and blood vials. Still my favourite farming path by far.

Fair enough, forgot about the better def, although I don't think it helps you much there lol

The 30% penalty sucks no matter what VIT you have, another of the issues of the PvP of this game...

Ehhh, I don't know, personally, I think the benefits of Chikage come mostly from going all out on Blood Form / Bloodtinge damage. The moveset isn't that great but the quickdraw and pure S-scaled Blood damage is what keeps it fresh. Most things don't have those resistances, so it all stacks up. That said, B skill scaling is fine for SKL and still holds up alright, just be aware if you mean to stack arcane Chikage gets pretty much nothing from it.

how funny my fav run is the second part of the forbidden woods with the snakes and boars. Mostly for mats when I run low of vials. Killing the big snakes is very satisfying.

Amy's lasers & WotoL's charge will one shot you regardless of your vit, I perfected avoiding those attacks anyway, they're very easy to dodge.

Chikage isn't good for arcane, it's a bloodtinge weapon.

I feel like my weapons might be a bit under leveled at this point. I have beaten
Cleric, Father G, Blood Starved, Vicar Amelia, and one Chalice Boss (some Giant)
. I'm at level 40 and using +4 Threaded Cane and +4 Ludwig's Blade.

Just found the Tonitrus and it seems like it'll be one of my main weapons, for style if nothing else. The charge up seems great, though. I want to fortify it a few more times to see how it goes.

Just got my platinum trophy, woo!
Yharnam and Moon Prescence
were fairly easy, 1 shotted both.
Defiled Chalice Amygdala or Bloodletting Beast
were a lot tougher.

I hope they put out some good DLC for this, I'm craving more.

40 vit to 50 vit could mean getting one shot by a cannon or surviving.

I need to test this before spending any level up points (I'm level 90 now), I need to invade someone with a cannon & let him hit me.

Just beat Rom on my 4th try.

I had no idea what to expect and died the first time to his magic. Second time I got hit by 5 ice shards in one barrage, killing me instantly. I also couldn't find my blood echoes before I started the fight so that's 30k echos gone. Third time I had him to a sliver and got greedy. One of the spiders hit me with the vomit cheese and Rom finished me off with a flail.

Forth time I just did hit and runs til he died. Basically just use L1 on tonitrus as he's casting his spell, sprint up to him, hit him twice, roll away, repeat.

What a dick.

Also completed Eileen's questline, now to visit faux Iosefka and go to cainhurst.

Ordered mine in March, still no update. Future Press's twitter says:
Pls ignore what https://www.amazon.com/?tag=neogaf0e-20 says about the delivery date of the BB guide. ALL pre-orders will be shipped this week or early next.
So I guess delayed a few more days.
