Stormtrooper helmets look awful in those shots. Like the grooves are far too pronounced or something.

Hope it turns out ok. But if it sucks, at least we got Plinkett.

Holy shit, this thing is real??

Yup, know for a long time. Mark Hamill was apparently just as surprised when he found out (this was in some interview).

And as someone pointed out, this old XKCD comic, from 2008...

The effects and general look of it are impressive.

Well, it does look nice. I can even almost get excited, but I just don't trust Abrams. Especially when we've seen him ape other filmmakers before and despite mimicking all the individual components, the whole was soulless crap (Super 8).
This is kind of how i feel. I thought that was an excellent trailer, but the fact that i absolutely despised MI:3, Super 8 and Into Darkness lingers in the back of my mind. For now i remain cautiously optimistic that this will turn out good.

If there's a scene where a Jedi brings down a Star Destroyer like in Force Unleashed, I'm gonna lost it.

But, you know, done is a badass way.

Or some goofy droids rip out the internals making little robotic chirps and one-liners and bring it down from the inside.

-Written by George Lucas, inspired by Michael Bay

I really can't wait to see that thing come down. It looks like it's been there for a while when first looking at it (and the X-Wing), but from things being said before it's coming down in the timeframe of the film.

I was hoping to see at least some snippets of fight choreography in this. The fact that they brought on the guys from The Raid was always the most interesting casting news for me.

They use push, pull, choke, and lift as well as using The Force to enhance acrobatic maneuvers. And that's just the original trilogy.

Yeah exaggeration on my part. But force was never presented as some to extra ordinary thing in original trilogy . Hopefully they get to do more now. specially after seeing last season of clone wars

I can't keep wondering if...

POTENTIAL SPOILER???

If they keep the "Leia gave birth to twins" idea (Leia actually has 3 kids, two of which were twins) in the supposedly non-canon, that one of the twins is a Jedi and the other one winds up being the main antagonist Sith in the Trailer? Or perhaps the 3rd child is the "outcast/dark-sider?"

POSSIBLE MAJOR SPOILER? http://www.thedailybeast.com/articl...story-of-the-solo-twins-and-darth-caedus.html

Because, sounds like Luke is talking to the female twin in the trailer and I can't help but notice the constant juxtaposition between her and this Sith guy in the trailer.

But that seems like such a predictable and obvious storyline. Surely it won't be THAT basic?

Plus, what happened to the non-canon stuff being non-canon? A red herring?

I think the more important question is how cheap was it to make,

Will Disney have a functional balldroid toy?

I would say banking is necessary with a larger FOV above you than to your periphery. You need to see where you are going.

You have 360 degree sensors. You wouldn't fly a space craft relying on sight, you know, the mark 1 eyeballs, IRL.
The banking in Star Wars is to evoke dogfighting of World War 2, not for any practical reason...

Palpatines Force Lightning is definitely extraordinary. It seems like the main reason we didn't see a lot more crazy uses of Force was budget and sfx limitations tbh.

Would be funny that this idea inspired a company to start making this, which in turn was found by Bob Iger for the bringing BB8 to life.

A very impressive teaser. They smartly built off the first teaser, showing shots in similar locations, but now with a wider scope and glimpses of returning characters.

Lots of dynamic movements as well, especially on Kylo Ren. Hopefully, the camera won't do all the heavy lifting, and Driver will get a chance to intimidate in his acting as well. Odd that Chewbacca looked a lot grayer in the on-set photo during the panel than he did during the trailer (though maybe his body hair is gray instead of his head).

Although I must say that my favorite part of the whole teaser was the stormtrooper being flung into the air from the hanger explosion.

Watching the panel now, and MY GOD, BB-8 must be the cutest thing ever! I loved that they brought him on stage!

Here's the video:

What the flying hell, that thing is a real puppet / droid? I just assumed it was CGI all this time.

Okay, I'm seriously impressed. JJ seems to really understand all of the problems that the prequels had, son of a fucking bitch!

i know that harrison ford is old

but damn he looks old

and the teaser is alright, but it lacks that epic impact of the first teaser

Loved it for the most part. I dislike the fast zoom effect I spotted near the end hopefully there isn't going to be too much used for the flight battles.

Also the "Chewie we're home line" felt really cheesy like some SNL skit.
