A PS2 game had space battles. We're two generations further. You'd expect... even better space battles!

I would rather have good ground combat (Battlefront 1) than an average ground combat with average space combat (Battlefront 2)

I am actually glad that they are not trying to fit as many bells and whistles into the game. Let them focus on one aspect and make it good, we can talk about expansions later.

A shame but it was expected. Battlefront 1 had an extremely shallow campaign and 2nd wasn't much better.

Any chance you could show what you mean via screenshot. The ground and the geometric detail on the character models in BF4 is decidedly less than the ones present here.

You really think so? BF4 screens can be touched up using the cinematic tools, so it wouldn't surprise me if the same was going on with these promo shots. I'm sure they've also put extra effort into geometry (especially those river rocks) but I think it's a leap to say that much detail will transfer over to the console versions. Certainly not at 60fps. I'd love to be wrong.

Did you read the article or just the tweet (seems like the latter), because it says:

Rather than a traditional solo outing, Battlefront will rely on a set of short missions which can be played alone, or cooperatively via split-screen or online

So it has the same exact set up as prior games.

At this point, the player controlling the soldier changes the viewpoint from first-person to third, something players can freely do at any time during gameplay.

I'm ok with that.

That material is ripe for that.

That said, I don't mind them focusing on the Rebels/Empire. I mostly played as those factions in Battlefront 2 anyway.

Personally, I would prefer that battlefront be just MP with AI bots at most. Do other Star Wars games that focus on SP and story.

Ugh...there had to be bad news. No SP really sucks. DICE better have a ton areas and diversity in MP to make up for the lack of SP in a BF game. I always loved the story missions.
