Also no campaign.

Look the first and second battlefront had some sort of campaigns while playing offline with AI on both sides and doing missions. This is all ready not worth the money.

No story is a plus for me. Give me stable online and a deep progression system.

This. It's good they focused on multiplayer to get this right especially with that short development time they had.

I don't understand gaf sometimes.

When a new Battlefield launches, people complain that they spend to much time focusing on single-player.

When a new Battlefront launches, people complain that they spend to much time focusing on multi-player.

There will be single player missions, just not focused around a central story.

So hard to understand how there are, like, different people who want different things. I don't get it.

The game has single player missions just not your usual full fledged history mode, could be cool if they make you play through some key events linking RotJ into Force Awakens.

It's pretty obvious that the people complaining about no campaign are new to this franchise. Fair enough, but do some research first before you start your trolling.

Reposting for new page because reading is hard

Rather than a traditional solo outing, Battlefront will rely on a set of short missions which can be played alone, or cooperatively via split-screen or online

Same as Battlefront 2

No campaign sucks. Another thing, just because the previous Battlefront didn't have a campaign doesn't mean this one shouldn't. It's a missed opportunity and will receive some heat for it.

This actually makes a good amount of sense now that I think about it. DICE campaigns have been weak lately, and this is the best way to have content from all of Star Wars. Like they should be able to just pick and choose all the good parts which sounds awesome. The wording makes it sound like they can't be played alone though, which I hope isn't the case. Split screen is a welcome surprise though.

It's not like the previous games had substantial campaigns, they were basically just a series of battles against the AI. Battlefront has always been about multiplayer, don't know why people expected anything else this time.

I for one am totally fine that there's no campaign if it means more resources go towards the multiplayer. I haven't finished a COD/BF campaign since Blacks Ops 1 since they can't seem to hold my interest for very long. Although it sucks for those that do enjoy them, but hopefully they'll enjoy the multiplayer enough that it makes up for it.

First and 3rd person view is great but that's the only thing that seems to make me happy. One era, no Space battles, No Galactic Conquest, and No word of AI running around on maps to make it feel more alive. I'm still cautious of this game doesn't look like it has the major things I want from the next battlefront but we will see as it gets closer to launch.

so my response to the negative:

-no Clone Wars Era battles are disappointing

-space battles were clunky and not ever exciting in the original battlefront so idk if im really upset that theyre gone. maybe if DICE fiures out a way to make them exciting and fast paced with 40 players ill be more in favor of having them in the game

-no campaign is fantastic. neither BF or BF 2 had campaign and id rather DICE not make some half-ass'd campaign and instead focus on multiplayer, so no complaints from me.

-40 players, i think its good for the most part, i know on hardline depending on the map that 64 players becomes a huge clusterfuck so im more concerned with how the player numbers are utilized more so than how many can be utilized.

Where you people expecting a battlefield style campaign or something? With set pieces and turret segments? It says it has "short missions which can be played alone, or cooperatively via split-screen or online"

...like the old games.

What's the earliest that day one DLC has been announced for a game? I feel like this has to be up there. Sure it's free, but still.

Yeah, it's actually pretty hilarious.

People want a campaign from DICE when all the Battlefield campaigns were garbage.

Amazing :lol

- No campaign
- No space battles
- No pilotable walkers
- Probably exclusive content on PS4

Welp.

Coop and 3rd person toggle is nice though

It's starting to sound like Sims 4 all over again with the list of shit not present in the game. 40 player count is on the low end of the list for me but the other stuff is just flat fucking lazy and sounds like it's being rushed out the door way too fast. This isn't even touching the dlc nonsense that's guaranteed to come from a DICE game now days.

Where does it say you can't pilot the AT-ATs?

Yeah, I heard the exact opposite.

My god now I remember the time where I actively followed Bad company 2 and Battlefield 3. Even today I couldn't make a polite comment about Demize99, Batch or zh1nt0.

Everything they don't put in their game is bad and not fun.
Until they finaly add it in the next game.

Hahah, exactly--it started with BC2 for me, too. Those dudes are so out of touch most of the time.

Sounds awesome, can't wait to see it in motion.

Not really bothered by the loss of space battles, they were a good idea but never played that well in Battlefront 2. Also allows DICE to focus on balancing the ground combat with some air combat, it took them long enough to balance the choppers in BF4.

A season pass and no space battles, no campaign, 40 players max with no bots (on presumably gigantic maps like Hoth)? No thanks.

They just lost a day 1 purchase.

Try harder next time DICE, not interested in a Battlefield reskin.

Look, I am mainly a campaign guy as well, but I am still excited as hell for the multiplayer. The game is looking and sounding fantastic. Besides, at least it will also have missions that you can play solo or in co-op, which is better than nothing else at all.

Split-screen? Holy shit, that and FPS/TPS toggle. All it needs is bots. They actually listened.
Bull-bull-bullshots!
And no campaign? What's the name for this? Oh yeah, wasted opportunity. Minus 1 sale.
DICE are shit at making single player campaigns anyway. There still is some sort of single player mode, though.
