Leaked Battlefront info (40 players, heroes, free Ep7 DLC, FPS & TPS) [Full Screens]

A season pass and no space battles, no campaign, 40 players max with no bots (on presumably gigantic maps like Hoth)? No thanks.

They just lost a day 1 purchase.

Try harder next time DICE, not interested in a Battlefield reskin.

Why not wait until you see the map sizes? This is not BF4.

Jesus Christ, what do you people want?
No space battles is the only disappointing thing here
No Campaign is a Battlefront mainstay, the game will still have bot missions. Everything else sounds exactly on point with what you should want from a Star Wars Battlefront game. It sounds like a lot of you have no idea what to expect and wanted a cinematic Star Wars video game with a story and tacked on MP.

The short missions and co-op missions meant to be played at increasing levels of difficulties is okay in lieu of a campaign, but being MP-centric means their servers better damn well work at launch.

Glad there is no campaign. Battlefront has always been a MP game imo. Really looking forward to it. Honestly even if it was battlefield with a Star Wars skin I'd be in.

Hopefully for folks wanting a single player Star Wars game (me included) get one soon.

Titanfall has bots : MAN THIS GAME SUCKS WITH BOTS

Battlefront chooses not to include bots anymore: MAN I CAN'T BELIEVE IT DOESN'T HAVE BOTS!

(for the record I didn't mind it)

wtf am I reading.

So you want games with very little content because EA forces developer to release unfinished games?

The way you make it sound I would have to say yes. I would rather have a great single minded action game that works and is enjoyable rather than Action52

Also there's a Star Wars movie premiering in December that will do better story wise than DICE would ever did.

no doubt about it

The single player stuff sounds fun, and I'm okay with it being small in scope. This is an online multiplayer game -- that's the core here. Single player stuff is being treated as secondary, and I think that's great.

Honestly I'm pretty shocked at the negative reaction to no campaign. I understand campaigns being important as a whole, but it's a DICE game. Campaigns were never a focus for them until a few years ago.

Guys wait... Hold on... I just read the Eurogamer article. It has missions that are not tied together as a single campaign but it does have a FULL single player mode.

This is not the same thing as titanfall. As for Space battles you better believe DICE and EA will release that in the premium.

I can sense the latter part through the force!!!

Sounds good so far, aside from the lack of space battles. Clone Wars era stuff would be nice too but it's nothing too major.

This. It's good they focused on multiplayer to get this right especially with that short development time they had.

Yes, such a shame the development time was so short.

It's almost as if it was done on purpose because a certain movie is releasing at the end of the year.

if they just put Galactic Conquest id be fine with this.

The fact that they mentioned stand alone offline missions but not Gal Con probably means there's no Gal Con. If that's the case, I'll be really disappointed. Gal Con with friends was my favorite part of battlefront.

So they include things that no one expected, heroes, third person, offline missions, and splitscreen but because they omit stuff that no one cared about when the old games first came out, campaign, space battles, and no bots online the game is suddenly shit and a no buy?

Christ some of you are super fickle.

Not surprised by the lack of campaign. This game pretty much HAS to be out by December. Remember when they were in a rush to get BF4 out ahead of time??? So yeah....I'm definitely holding off till I know the game is good and working properly.

Also no campaign.

Look the first and second battlefront had some sort of campaigns while playing offline with AI on both sides and doing missions. This is all ready not worth the money.

Aww men. All my interest gone out the window just like that.

Oh well, there's enough people that will enjoy the game either way, and there are enough games with single players out there. I just wanted to play a nice Star Wars campaign.

How can you not have a campaign?

What is even the point of having the star wars license? ughh.

Hopefully they announce some other star wars game that has a story ffs EA.

what about other vehicles like tanks and jeeps? Star wars universe has plenty of those!

Unless there are NPC/AI players, it makes no sense that Walkers wouldn't be player-controllabled. The demo was a Walker Assault MP match, even if it was heavily scripted/staged, right? That means SOMEONE would have to be controlling those.

- No campaign
- No space battles
- No pilotable walkers
- Probably exclusive content on PS4

Welp.

Coop and 3rd person toggle is nice though

What's your source for not being able to pilot walkers?

The people who can actually read know that already but it's obvious a lot of gaffers don't like to read things before they comment.

LOL WUT

Yeah, it's actually pretty hilarious.

People want a campaign from DICE when all the Battlefield campaigns were garbage.

Amazing :lol

There's apparently also barely any content because of that and no space battles...oh, and online only.

TBH though I am bummed about no space or Pre-OT stuff.

ITT: People can't read

Same as Battlefront 2.

I think some of the initial reaction was that there was only nothing even similar to "Galactic Conquest" when they said no campaign. It was nice to see that cleared up quickly. Not sure why everyone is overlooking that information.

This is good news.

First up, Battlefront supports 40 players. "64 players is Battlefield," Mcleod said. "That’s what worked for them. When developing the best gameplay experience, we tried all sorts of numbers, but we found that 40 players delivers the best experience for the universe. We didn’t want to use an arbitrary number that would lessen the experience. We have a range of modes that affect the experience, all the way down to eight players for a more intimate experience."

Also, Star Wars Battlefront isn’t just a first-person shooter — DICE is including an optional third-person perspective for purists who prefer the series’ original view. Players can switch between over-the-shoulder and first-person with the press of a button, whether they’re infantry on the ground or piloting from the cockpit.

Sounds like they choose 40 for a specific reason and not 64 because 64 was a random target some wanted them to hit.

Wut? No one cared about Space Battles? or Player Count? Fuckin' lol

Split-screen? Holy shit, that and FPS/TPS toggle. All it needs is bots. They actually listened.

DICE are shit at making single player campaigns anyway. There still is some sort of single player mode, though.

Well it's Star Wars. I don't know they could have hired ex-Factor 5 or Lucas employees or something.

Dissapointed that there's no real campaign, but I'm glad there's some bot modes. Hopefully that bot mode covers all the same bases that the multiplayer does. It is the make or break for me personally. Glad to see that you can do them as online co op though.
