Leaked Battlefront info (40 players, heroes, free Ep7 DLC, FPS & TPS) [Full Screens]

Little info and no gameplay yet but it sounds fun and looks too great. Will probably buy it if it turns out good and my internet speed is good enough.

According to Shinobi theyre on a set path and you just use the guns. Apparently in some Walker assault mode.

The cynicism here is amazing. We're already calling it a BF4 reskin now? We haven't even seen footage.

Kinda ridiculous. You don't have to like everything, but really?

Jesus Christ, what do you people want?
No space battles is the only disappointing thing here
No Campaign is a Battlefront mainstay, the game will still have bot missions. Everything else sounds exactly on point with what you should want from a Star Wars Battlefront game. It sounds like a lot of you have no idea what to expect and wanted a cinematic Star Wars video game with a story and tacked on MP.

Yep, people should expect this kind of SW game from Visceral probably.

For the people that want a campaign, did you guys like BF3/4 campaigns? What would you expect from a Star Wars campaign story in a game, though? Did the guys enjoy the previous Battlefronts' campaign?

Titanfall has bots : MAN THIS GAME SUCKS WITH BOTS

Battlefront chooses not to include bots anymore: MAN I CAN'T BELIEVE IT DOESN'T HAVE BOTS!

(for the record I didn't mind it)
People who then play es Titanfall didn't complain nor had TF the playersize of Battlefront

There should be bots

While I don't care about the game anymore it's nice to see the devs focusing on their strengths instead of tacking on a SP story

Forgive my ignorance, I've never played Battlefront before but is it basically Star Wars Battlefield?

Yea.

This is the first version of "Battlefront" that's going to use DICE's Frostbyte engine.

I wonder how many "destructible buildings" the game will have?

BF4 seemed to have less than BF3 or even what BFBC2 had.

I hope it's more than just a couple walls and some rooftops.

Part of me realised these was a possibility due to the 2.5 years dev time limitation DICE had... but damn if I wanted to be pessimistic about it.

Looks like I'll have to wait for Ea's Battlefront 2 if I want that dream Battlefront.

I wonder if people saying the lack of space battles isn't that bad even played Battlefront 2. It was like... the main appeal of that game. Made that game feel like an actual Star Wars space battle.

It was pretty much on top of what the fans wanted from this game. This is Star Wars, not Battlefield X Star Wars.

Glad there is no campaign. Battlefront has always been a MP game imo. Really looking forward to it. Honestly even if it was battlefield with a Star Wars skin I'd be in.

Hopefully for folks wanting a single player Star Wars game (me included) get one soon.

i can see how no campaign could be for the better, but the potential could have been somthin.

like imagine there was a sp level on Hoth and you play rebels getting the hell out of Echo base, you could be that guy who gets on the intercomm and goes "imperial troops have entered the base! imperial troops have en--"

but i could see how this would have been for the better, everyone is just concerned that Battlefront will have less value with out a campaign.

The people who can actually read know that already but it's obvious a lot of gaffers don't like to read things before they comment.

LOL WUT

We have read it. But you know... talk down to people who expect a PROGRESSION from BF2 rather than a REGRESSION.

I'm still excited, just a little deflated. It's a missed opportunity and probably a result of rushing it out to make Ep. 7 release.

The coop missions sound just like battlefront 2 campaigns.

And I expect a buggy launch foe the first week like every other dice game (except bf4. Dat 1st month of launch). They aren't being rushed so I'm cool with waiting 1 more week to buy the game. Already been waiting like forever anyways.

Dissapointed in no space battles but it'll be dlc anyways.

Don't listen to the haters DICE keep up the good work.

Wut? No one cared about Space Battles? or Player Count? Fuckin' lol
Considering that in 10 years of playing online I've seen maybe one space server and most servers on the PC (which had 64 players compared to the PS2's 24) were were self limited to 32 players, yeah no one cared.

Man. Some people reacting pretty harshly without much info. Feels like nothing in reality will be good enough.

There are so many Star Wars fans, Battlefront fans, Dice fans, and combinations of them and we all want the best game possible so I can understand the reactions. All I want is for the game to look good, play well, and be FUN. If those are in place I'll be happy.

I am excited for the TPS/FPS toggle, I loved it in Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer, it was done really well.

I'm kind of glad they aren't doing a campaign for this, I seriously don't trust EA to craft a story as strong as "here's a playlist of multiplayer battles with bots"

This sounds perfect

Most Star Wars games have suffered from rushed productions to tie in with movie releases.

That's understandable, but I'm not going to defend a lack of something just because a publisher/developer has to release their game in time for a movie.

We don't even know if the short development time is the cause of this...

I think I only played the BF1/2 campaigns like at least twice and then never again. Just went straight to mp. As long as there is still bot fodder in this, I'm good.

Other than the graphics, in what way does this seem like it will be better than the Battlefront game Free Radical was working on? That had both eras, space battles with the ability to go from ground to space, a campaign with a full story and all the other things Battlefront games should have like 3rd person and Heroes. I really can't see how this is going to be an improvement on the previous games in terms of features.

For the people that want a campaign, did you guys like BF3/4 campaigns? What would you expect from a Star Wars campaign story in a game, though? Did the guys enjoy the previous Battlefronts' campaign?

To be honest, I did enjoy the Battlefronts' campaigns. They weren't the best in the world, but they were fun. Any campaign with star wars in it gets an instant plus.

That being said, the best part about Battlefront offline was Gal Con. Hell I enjoyed Gal con more than the online.

According to some info posters, the AT-ATs are on scripted paths. You can only control the guns.

Fucking LOL.

DICE'd. Sounds like what they did with bombers and the C130 gunship in BF3/4.

I can get beyond the 40 player count (which MAY be mode specific), lack of campaign (I never play them), and even space battles (I wouldn't trust DICE to pull this off), but man, I really HATE the way they dumbed down this kind of thing in BF3/BF4.

Still holding out hope, but man, they're making it difficult.

First up, Battlefront supports 40 players. "64 players is Battlefield," Mcleod said. "That’s what worked for them. When developing the best gameplay experience, we tried all sorts of numbers, but we found that 40 players delivers the best experience for the universe. We didn’t want to use an arbitrary number that would lessen the experience. We have a range of modes that affect the experience, all the way down to eight players for a more intimate experience."

More 40 player confirmation.

They only had 2 years from EA signing the Star Wars license deal with Disney to make this game. I'm not surprised they've cut the content like Campaign to deliver a product by November.

No campaign is unsurprising given the short timeframe they have to get this out and get it working. DICE kind of sucks with campaign anyway.

The cynicism here is amazing. We're already calling it a BF4 reskin now? We haven't even seen footage.

Kinda ridiculous. You don't have to like everything, but really?

Which idiot said reskin?! Please Read!!

DICE is a well-funded, successful studio with plenty of talented artists on staff who are more than capable of producing near-photorealistic Stormtroopers or X-Wings, but it's chosen to use extensive photogrammetry, a technique which composites high-resolution scans of real-world objects to create digital assets. DICE has used this process to create digital impressions of several key props and models used in the original films. It means that not only are the proportions of such objects precise and authentic, but every scratch and blemish of the original object is also translated into the game. What is means is that the X-Wings available in the game are, essentially, the X-Wings from the original movie. Similarly, a comparable process – PBR (physically-based rendering) – was used to make sure the environments display a comparable level of fidelity, with DICE travelling to and scanning many of the key shooting locations used in the original trilogy. It's a fanatical quest for detail that I suspect most people won't consciously notice, though it's one of the silent factors in making this feel so much like Star Wars.

I love people complaining about the AT-AT's when in BF2 all you could do was walking in a really slow pace towards the rebel base. Hell, people didn't move the damn thing too much, their sole purpose was for spawn points.
