Leaked Battlefront info (40 players, heroes, free Ep7 DLC, FPS & TPS) [Full Screens]

As someone who never grew up with shooters that didn't have ADS...why is it considered such a bad thing? Is it because of the decreased spread/slight zoom?

ADS slows the game down, makes it campy, and introduces bullshit like different amounts of recoil, which makes little sense in a game with blasters. All in all, a great decision by DICE.

I love people complaining about the AT-AT's when in BF2 all you could do was walking in a really slow pace towards the rebel base. Hell, people didn't move the damn thing too much, their sole purpose was for spawn points.

Friggin this! Every time I drove these things in BF2, they're damn slow.

Now if they said you couldn't pilot AT-STs

No campaign

no campaing

I dont' see much to get hyped about here outside of it being another battlefield game with a star wars aesthetic. Heroes perhaps...I dunno.

Usually because of the style of play and game attached to them. It also usually means a more balanced gunplay system cos everyone only has hipfire as an option and less variablesthrough weapons, scopes, attachments etc. Like Battlefield games

Thread is moving fast now. Going to move much faster when the reveal transpires.

So far I'm seeing some parallels between this game and Warhawk.

My money is ready, for the game and the season pass.
And I'll likely be shite at it.

I bought the PC Battlefront games a little while back, maybe I should get some practice in.

I'm hoping the weapon loadouts are more simple and basic. Battlefields immense amount of weapons is exhausting. Give me 2 or 3 options per class with very distinctive features. I'm a fan of shooters that offer simplicity with the complexity being focused in teamwork and ability instead of 200 different weapons.

Then you don't have to ads, but how I decide to play should not effect your experience

Games that have ADS give huge penalties to not using it. I'm not saying that all games with ADS should go burn in a fire, but there are benefits to a game not having ADS at all.

So those rumors on makingstarwars.net regarding the single player campaign were wrong?

makingstarwars.net said:
- The story of Star Wars: Battlefront’s campaign will span pretty much the entire Star Wars saga.

- Star Wars Battlefront will feature segments in which you play as both the good guys (Old Republic, Rebellion and Republic) and bad guys (Separatists and the Empire). It was specifically stated that there will be a small portion of prequel trilogy content. You will participate in a couple of battles from the Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and the space battle above Corsucant from the beginning of Revenge of the Sith.

- The majority of the campaign will take place during the original trilogy era. All of the battles and settings that you would expect to be there will be playable. It was said that the campaign itself is pretty long when compared to other first person shooters.

- There will be some segments of the campaign which take place between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. There won’t be a lot because in their words “Lucasfilm has a lot of plans for that era.”

- The last section of the campaign takes place before and during the opening segments of The Force Awakens. Don’t expect anything too revealing, because the game is expected to ship about a month before the movie releases.

No ADS is a great thing.

Ok, but why?

It breaks up pacing, and slows down combat.

I think they should include ADS and keep the recoil/zoom level exactly the same as hip-fire. That way you please everyone and it doesn't give ADS players an advantage. It's not a deal-breaker for me, though.

More info from that PC gamer article.

No class system?

That’s just my guess, because DICE’s Battlefront demo doesn’t offer a complete picture of what the game is actually like to play. I didn’t see how you spawn in, or the loadout screen for choosing weapon loadouts. DICE told me that it’s eschewed a distinct class system in favor of more general customization options—players will be able to choose what weapons they take into battle, including different types of blasters and secondary weapons. In the demo, I saw thermal detonators (that’s Star Wars for grenade) and a consumable shield generator that protected rebel troopers with a shimmery blue bubble of energy.

DICE said customization will also extend to abilities, and as you may have guessed from Darth Vader’s appearance, hero characters are most definitely back. DICE confirmed Vader and Boba Fett are both playable, but didn’t specify how they’ll be selectable—whether, like in Battlefront 2, you’ll have to achieve a set goal before spawning in as a hero.

Buddy system instead of squads? Unlocks are shared with your partner!

DICE didn’t want to talk much about gameplay modes or features, though it did mention the Partner system, which works a bit like squads in Battlefield. Players can choose one Partner to always be able to see in-game, and always be able to spawn next to. But more importantly, you’ll be able to share item/weapon unlocks with your partner. Battlefront definitely has some kind of progression system for unlocking new weapons, and your partner will be able to use anything you’ve unlocked, even if they’re a lower level.

But it's getting silly.

There are people that want it to stay exactly the same as their nostalgia glasses remember the games. But also have all the additional little tweaks that their own personality wants.

I seriously feel like some people want Battlefront to be NoMansSky-Battlefield-DriveClub-Bloodborne-Skyrim-Titanfall and anything short of that will not be good enough.

It's a game guys. It's not all things to all people. But can we quit saying "I'm done with this game!" because it neglects one feature that you put up on a pedestal? That's just throwing the baby out with the bathwater. It's your money and your choice, but it also makes you sounds a bit petty.
Yeah they should stop complaining, we will most likely have 4v4 team deathmatch and unlocks, that's what people were all hoping for.

Makes sense for how this game looks to be in the spirit of the old Battlefronts and that it does make little sense here. However, not every game should play like an arena shooter.

Why would anyone use it if that was the case? Just needless animation work.

No space battles is disappointing. I guess being able to jump into space could make 40 player battles deceptively sparse. Not driving AT-ATs is a bit annoying, but they are the worst vehicle to actually drive. They are more fun to blow up.

I am honestly so happy that they are sticking so close to the originals.

I had accepted that we would be getting a more modern Battlefield-like game and I was happy with that because I love Battlefield. But to hear this, I am amazed and excited to a degree I have never been before.

Graphics look outstanding, but then again so did BF4 so I'm not surprised.

This will do nicely this Fall. Glad it basically can't get delayed, but in some ways that might not bode well for glitches and technical problems.
