Leaked Battlefront info (40 players, heroes, free Ep7 DLC, FPS & TPS) [Full Screens]

Battlefield has only 1 planet, you know.

Map design is what matters, not the climate.

Battlefield's earth is a lot more varied than tattooine as presented in star wars. Tattooine is desert, and in places there are shanty towns. There might be two maps there if you stretch it.

Hmm suppose that makes sense

Plus its a main stay of Battlefront to not have it and would piss off far more people if it was just Battlefield:Star Wars.

Limited amount of weapons coupled with no ADS means a more balance gunplay system too. Everyone is basically equal and it comes down to skill and tactics more than who got less recoil

It's not that I disagree with this.

It's that, even with no singleplayer and no space battles, it doesn't mean the remaining multiplayer bits will be good.

Kinda skeptical after recent Battlefield games.

Fair enough but i'd assume they skipped SP and space battles to make sure the launch won't be a disastrous mess like BF4 was.

I will man the Hype Star all by myself if I have to.

Together my friend, together:

Indeed likely the better one. To have 64 players you have to have the map size to accomodate for that and when you compare Star Wars weapons to Battlefield... I mean you're not going to be lining up sniper shots from a kilometer away with blaster rifles. The map size needed to accomodate 64 players probably didn't work with Star Wars better playing blaster rifle type range.

ESPECIALLY now knowing the aiming will be closer to the original than an ADS shooter like Battlefield.

And yet we'll have x-wings, tie fighters, a-wings.....what, on tiny maps?

AT-ATs are huge. They're going to need plenty of room on these maps to fly around them. We're getting big maps, and they're going to feel empty. OR they're going to be tiny and be terrible for vehicles.

How comes for every "negative" thing posted about the game there are 2 GAFers showing up full whiteknight mode saying it's not a bad thing at all but a feature to balance gameplay and fun.

didn't say maps. I said planets, which I find pretty lackluster only to have 4 locations when the older games had much much more...

from the pc gamer link

They sounded kind of indifferent. I am just going to take in the flashy reveal they have cooked up in stride and keep my expectations down to normal levels. I just want a fun Star Wars experience and am not going to go in expecting the greatest thing since sliced bread. I am not setting myself up for disappointment.

Because no ADS is a massive benefit as far as gameplay is concerned?

Game seems to have taken an awful long time for what seems like a barebones package. Feels like all they're confirming is a list of expected features that haven't made the cut.

-No single player (basically). Not even a Galactic Conquest sort of deal.
-No space battles.
-Limited selection of planets from only a couple of the films.
-Extensive DLC plans!

I love the first 2 Battlefront games, but this is a pretty weird unveiling.

Free Radicals idea was ahead of its time. Its a shame the Battlefront franchise was given to people who just want to make it look pretty with basic gameplay.

Ground to Space battles @ 100+ players :( that is the Battlefront game we deserve.

Because they aren't "white knights" and might just be people with different opinions?

The PC Gamer stuff is speculation on their part based on what we saw, not that there is a confirmation that we are only getting four planets. They missed Jakku in that count and the possibility of multiple maps for each planet.

I'm right there with you.

I can't believe I'm actively defending an EA game.

In science fiction for whatever reason most planets besides earth only have one or two climates. Not sure why.

Because planets, especially in a pulp sci fi movie, need an immediate identity. This is the ice planet, this is the desert planet, this is the city planet. Like video game levels almost. With Earth there is nothing to think up and nothing to explain.

Tatooine is 100% desert
Hoth is 100% ICE desert
Endor is 100% wooden planet (but with Oceans I think too so this would be the most varied planet)
Sullust....is a desert/lava-volcano planet

You can easily work with these environments.
Tatooine: city, desert, Jabba's Palace, rocky desert, etc.
Hoth: caves, desert, Echo base, etc.
Endor: Which isn't just a big forest (Endor's terrain was largely covered by massive, tightly-knit pine and redwood forests. However, the Forest Moon also contained vast dry deserts and grassy plains, small oceans, secluded lakes, and mountain ranges.) so you can make dozens of maps on that one alone but since no battle actually took place outside of the area around the shield generator they might just focus on maps like, shield generator bunker, woods in the vicinity, Ewok village.
Sullust: ash wastes, mines, cities, etc.

No campaign is fine for me. Make MP as great as possibly can be especially since BF3 and 4 had crappy SP campaigns. No space battles is a bummer though but everything else sounds great.

lol only 4 planets

Yeah, I'm sure having multiple desert/tundra maps won't get old , and if they do I'm sure they have DLC to sell you

No space battles is a huge downgrade as well

This is truly a star wars battlefront game for 2015

Wtf "downgrade" is THE new word you use when something doesn't please you / you want to whine over a game ?

Ya but the 4 planets they are using all consist of mostly one environment type

Hoth is all Ice, Tatooine is completely desert, Sullest Is mostly Rocks and Lava, and Endor is the only one that has varied terrain similar to earth although most of it is forests.

No full campaign is fine but I fuckin LOVED galactic conquest.

Will this still have something like that? Just bot matches where you take over the galaxy.
