Star Wars Battlefront Trailer, game will be 60 fps

lmao Manufactured hype at its finest.

I trust EA and DICE to deliver us a game that will blow us all away. All the signs points us to a very successful game.

I trust DICE, not as much as i did before BF3/BF4, but BF3/4 did end up being excellent games.

I don't trust EA one bit. With the new trilogy coming out this Christmas, i am very concerned that we are going to get another rush job because EA wants all of that marketing synergy.

SOLD!

This graphics in 1080p60
(or 30, there is no difference)
on my PS4 and I won't see the sun shine 'til summer 2017.

I do not care what you guys say. PS4 is capable of so much more than we have seen yet. Let's not forget this is Current Gen only. Watch_Dogs, BFH, you name 'em have been held back by PS360. THIS and U4 are going to be the first games to show the true power of PS4. And after all: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hT8c5L3TVXg

That was a fairly transparent post, secondly, are some people STILL pretending like there's no difference between 60 fps and 30?

They probably got more room because they reduced the player count. Hardline already benefited from the reduced destruction.

So yeah i expect this graphics on both XboxOne and PS4. But we still have to wait and see sadly.

I really dont get the reason for not releasing the gameplay footage. Which was according to a lot of people running on a PS4.

Am I wrong for being annoyed that they withheld gameplay from us that was shown at celebration, and then had the nerve to put out pre orders? For as psyched as I am for this game, im not pre ordering anything blindly, and this in game movie doesn't cut it either as its not indicative of gameplay. Seriously they shit the bed with this reveal.

Speaking of destruction, they haven't mentioned anything about that yet.

yeah 60fps when looking at the ground or skybox. 60fps has been promised so many times this gen I think it's becoming a myth in AAA games.

That's the fucking industry these days. "PRE-ORDER! No matter you haven't actually seen anything".
Of course, only customers can change that... by not pre-ordering.

If this really will have split-screen option for online multiplayer, i might ignore the game having ADS (if it has it?).

Aye, my comment was overly sarcastic. I've learned to doubt whatever comes out of those companies. Star Wars isn't going to change my mind.

there is no possible way it will look like this on xbox one or ps4, and even if it closely resembles it we are likely looking at a 720p and 900p situation on xb and ps running and an unlocked 30 fps.

It's pushing for 60 so it'll look like BF4 SP since it is taxing multiplayer. Only a little better. That's what my lowered expectations are thanks to that dank 60fps news. Arcade shooter don't need 60fps ugh. It needs to be spectacular like the trailer but oh well.

Didn't catch that. No doubt it won't look that good at 60fps and any shooter with MP has awful game-y animations when it actual releases.

From the trailer posted on the Xbox YouTube channel:

The mention of representative of PS4 gameplay was there only so that Sony doesn't get sued because of their name and logos showing at the beginning and end of the video...

It's all PC footage...

Ok Jesus if it looks even 1/4 as good as that on PS4 I'm in Day 0 and then again on PC whenever I do my new build. Fangirling so hard right now my god

IMO what makes it look so outsandingly good is texture resolution, it's up there somewhere among the stars. Other aspects of graphics are at expectable quality. (HDR is also very high precision.)

If this is still using basically the same Frostbite engine version, one should already know what to expect from looking at Battlefield 4 and Hardline.

Maybe something like Killzone's re projection?
.

Yes, that's more or less what I was thinking, something in the same philosophy but used to generate frames instead of resolution.
I just thought it's a rather bold move to commit to 60fps in a game that seems designed to require such visual fidelity. Unless, 60fps came basically for free, with some kind of interpolation.

Plus, now that i think of it, EA did explore the feasibility of similar techniques in the past (on ps360), prototyping it in some other Star Wars game, even. Seemed to work, although it wasn't included in the retail versions.

So that had Greatness Awaits at the end... if Sony has the marketing deal but the game will be played "first on EA Access", how does that work? I can't imagine Sony would want to fund a marketing bill for a game and then be like "well, you can play it first... on Xbox One".

Very cool gif, but you left the part out where he throws the rocket launcher on the ground...total mic drop moment.
That's true, but I wanted the GIF to have a better flow: bam-bam-bam + bam-bam-bam. 3+3 quick action moments at a nice rhythm.
