Leaked Battlefront info (40 players, heroes, free Ep7 DLC, FPS & TPS) [Full Screens]

A really neat mock-up from the other thread, made by EuropeOG.

This is basically what DICE is promising the game will look like, lol.

Yeah, no doubt the game will look good, maybe even great but I can't bring myself to believe it will look that good.

My biggest fear is the IQ.

That Cinematic trailer looks so clean and crisp. I dont wanna imagine another 720p/900p frostbite game with a awful AA solution like BF4 and Hardline has.

The game seems incredibly bare bones from what we know, there ain't a proper single player campaign so is multiplayer only. Not that it matters much as its a DICE game but to have no proper SP at all but rather some co-op mode is a total cop out, it's obvious DICE thinks they can get away with this shit and get the game out for November. Didn't DICE only work on this for a couple years?

I think as of DAI they had a better AA solution. Hopefully they use that instead of the rough FXAA implementation they had in BF4.

The E3 gameplay demo at the PS4 conference will be very interesting.

They were able to do BF4 with cross-gen engine and such so I could envision quite the leap graphically with a pure current-gen only engine at the helm with full optimization of the engine taking advantage of the capabilities of the PS4 almost like it was an exclusive title.

Look at what Killzone ShadowFall was able to do with its engine AT LAUNCH.

I would fucking cry if it indeed ends up looking like the in-engine teaser. That is a dream come true looking Star Wars title that sounds like it will be pretty bare bones at first and then they can go in and add space battles and new planets and maps and modes and shit like that post launch. Ala DriveClub which continually added new shit after launch

Not an ideal scenario but yeah, that is a deadline for you

is there any sort of single player gameplay to this at all? so far this just seems like titanfall with a star wars theme. in that case, I'll pass.

Are they just straight up ignoring 1-3 with this? I really hope not. I would have given anything to see this tech with Naboo and Droideka rolling around.

I say this because everywhere is specifically saying "...heroes from the original trilogy".

Mustafar was one of the best maps!

I really hope this game isn't lacking content like some articles are leading me to believe. There better be fun modes, there better be a campaign.

ah so not the actual game. is that what the boyes video is from?

Yep

I think they pretty much have to in order to get the game out by November. If they do add in prequel trilogy content it would probably come in DLC

This is exactly what we'll get. Why people are even hoping otherwise is beyond me.

Enjoyed the trailor for what it was but they'll claim to have to reduce the IQ by 80% for it to run on consoles. Which will leave us with what we console games currently know as the power of the Frostbite engine!

It even says "representative of Playstation 4" at the end. Very curious to see how they define representative.

Just when i start to give EA the benefit of the doubt they start using that kind of double-speak, again.

"Representative" will mean: looks generally like this, doesn't appear at this resolution and won't run at this framerate.

I get that people want this game to be good but come on, its not wrong to ask obvious questions when we're all far enough into this gen to know the performance capabilities of ps4/x1.

My bullshit images and video alarm is ringing. I'll wait to see what the game actually looks like being played, not some inengine video.

Those graphics would be on par with The Order 1886, maybe even better. In a game with 20v20 matches.

Not gonna happen.

I wouldn't expect it on my PS4 or someone's X1 but there are these kind of games that raise the level of graphical fidelity every few years. The animations though...

Wait wait wait wait wait....we can't play with Clone Troopers and Droids? Only fucking Imps and Rebs?

WTF?

The amount of work it would take to implement another era to the extent that they did for the OT era would be an extraneous amount of work, practically another full game. If they can't even do space battles then there's no way they can fit a whole other trilogy and tv show's worth of material in with what is already there. I expect it to be done for a sequel or expansion pack though.

Because the aesthetic and lore set up by the prequels is completely lame.

"I'm sorry sir, it's time for you to leave".

Say what you want about the movies, but there a lot of people that appreciated that era's implementation in Battlefront. And thanks to The Clone Wars, it would have even more material to draw from than it otherwise would have. A map taking place on Umbara would have been amazing.

This is basically what DICE is promising the game will look like, lol.

Game won't look like that. PC might come close, consoles sure as shit wont especially with 60fps being promised. DICE knows they can get away with saying whatever the hell they want and people eat their shit with a smile on their face. The DLC will be absurd as well, I can already see it.

-"Galactic Conquest mode"! Take your battles above the skies an into space with epic 64 player space battles! "$15"

-"The Trade Federation"! Droids Droids Droids! "$15"

-"Clone Wars"! Get ready to for massive ground battles during the period of the Clone Wars! Play as heroes such as Count Dooku, General Grievous, Mace Windu and more! "$15"

So on and so forth.

Because part of being a fanboy or a victim of hype is defending anything and everything about your game of choice.

Such a lazy argument. I love how people like yourself must resort to accusing people of being fanboys if their opinion doesn't line up perfectly with yours.

I put 400 hours into BF4 and 64 players is indeed fantastic. But I'm open to the idea of 40 player battles, which I still see as a lot of players anyway. Especially if the maps are designed around said player count. Leave 64 players for Battlefield I say.

How come BC2 gets so much praise and that game was only 32 players?

Hardline has 64 player TDM right now and it's a clusterfuck. Hell even Conquest Large in that game is a clusterfuck because most maps were designed for 32 players.

It's all about how they design the maps and the modes, more is not always better.

More IS always better.

Having more options is ALWAYS a good thing.

If people want smaller games, they can play in smaller games.
Its really not that simple. If the levels are designed for a certain player count, then adding more people for the sake of more doesn't really do us any good. Having a clusterfuck mode simply for the sake of giving people options isn't better.

So no, more options is not always a good thing.

100% believe they will deliver on the visuals seen here...a friend of mine works at DICE as an environment artist, hes an amazing talent.

To be fair, they did put put quite a lot of DLC content for BF3 and BF4 for a good asking price. Just looking at map quantity for BF4, the main game had 10 maps for $60 originally and the extra Premium DLC content eventually had 20 maps for $60 up front originally.

Just from a sheer quantity standpoint, it's a decent value. Whether or not it holds up quality wise, well that's a matter of opinion I guess.

Because even the cancelled BF3 was designed for 64 players, with ground to space.

I can't wait for this.

It is sad to see everyone making the same lame EA/DICE jokes over and over again - if they weren't true and/or funny several years ago during BF3 they're even less so now.

BF add-ons have been a very good value and the games have all looked great despite many screaming BS when first revealed.

That's a completely different game made by different people. DICE wants to make a 40 player max game so the maps and modes will be designed according to that.

Unacceptably low? The maps are going to be designed for 40 players. How is it unacceptably low? BF2 has a lower player count and felt awesome.

40 seems like a good number. I've spent enough time playing Planetside 2 to realise that more is not necessarily better.

The visuals are *obviously* cooked a bit - it is a trailer after all. But I was struck by how much it looks like DA:I does on PC. I don't think the system requirements to run this and have it look excellent will be that demanding.

40 players seems pretty damn good to me.
20 x 20! It's still a big number of players, but also won't be so messed up! I'm in favor of it!
