I love Nolan's bat trilogy but man, this is suit is lol.

How in the world is Batman a believable opponent for Supes? Don't give me that prep time bullshit either. It makes no sense to me. How's he supposed to trade blows when you're fighting someone as strong as Superman?

But the answer actually is prep time. Batman will have a plan, it's as simple as that.

- Clark won't want to kill, Bruce has that going for him.
- Clark will be weakened somehow (previous battle, sonic gun, kryptonite, gravity nonsense).
- Bruce has the Batmobile and other military grade weapons, including goddamn robot armour.

It will basically be the fight from The Dark Knight Returns. Read the comic.

there's no way they wanted that leak. It's ridiculous to suggest it did anything at all to help them.

It doesn't even make any sense, even from a conspiracy theorist standpoint.

yeah, somebody was totally able to push through releasing this teaser within 24 hours of the "leak" through a massive company like warner bros

did the leak to send out feelers and then pulled the trigger when the response was good

edit: not saying all leaks were staged, but the leak was so well captured that it felt like a controlled one from the get go

Kinda disappointed to see "Batman created by Bob Kane" at the end of the teaser. Poor Bill Finger :(

I noticed that too. It's a shame really, took 75 years(ouch) before he was finally given credit on a Batman comic. All those stories about Bob Kane make it even more shameful.

What does this even mean?

You think the negative narrative that had been unfolding (with industry magazines like VARIETY, of all the places, linking directly to pirated material) was a situation they were just going to sit on for 3 days with no response or attempt to mitigate it?

You think Warner Bros would let basic bureaucracy get in the way of trying to clean up a marketing misstep for their biggest 2016 release, the one whose success determines whether or not this DC Universe plan of theirs goes forward?

Why? What makes you think that's a possibility? What bureaucracy do you think would be getting in the way? What's your conception of what's happening over there that the industry's leading rag linking directly to a potatophone version of the teaser planned to premiere as a nationwide IMAX event would get responded to internally with a series of shrugs and confused looks?

This wasn't a planned leak. They got fucked. Nothing about this went the way they wanted it to.

Looked like Bruce was staring at his Batman suit like he hadn't been in it in a while, wondering if he really should suit up again.

I doubt that Batman is going to be beating Superman. He will probably be armed with plot devices and manage to get a few hits in and slow him down a little. Then they'll join up to fight Luthor.

I will be legit disappointed if Batman even comes close to beating Superman. Especially after Snyder himself said that Batman cant.

staged leak was staged

I doubt they wanted to release the teaser a day after the Episode VII trailer. They had the the IMAX event planned on the 20 and most likely the teaser would have dropped online the next day.

Gives the teaser some breathing room.

Just watched the official release.

That's a great tease. Call me silly, but I'm a believer in Ben as the bat now.

He always had the look for Batman/Bruce Wayne as he is a big guy with the chin and all that. Snyder providing him with the best batsuit to ever grace a screen also helps.

I'm more interested to see how well he pulls off an older, brooding, and battle tested Bruce.

He looked good as DD but I didn't care for him as Murdock.

All this talk of whether Batman can fight Superman... I blame the weak-sauce renditions of Batman in film so far. People don't get it.

Some of Superman's enemies are Toy Man, Lex Luthor, Brainiac and Amazo. They fight him with technology. If you can hit him hard enough, he is hurt by it. If you can counter his powers, you can fight him. He can be out-smarted and out-maneuvered.

Far lesser men have posed a threat to Superman than Batman.

Not a single line from Superman. Such a weird perspective to look at him from after having seen MoS and then seeing him here.

Neil deGrasse Tyson got more dialogue in that trailer than Batman did. It's not meaningful.

The way this teaser is cut is obviously highlighting Batman. It doesn't surprise me since this movie is the first appearance of Bats in the universe. It's still very much Superman's movie. Almost all the credits are his supporting cast and a few sites have claimed the script is mostly his story.

As one of a few who actually enjoyed Man of Steel, this teaser was fantastic. Kind of unfortunate timing to come a day after freaking Star Wars though.

I think someone mentioned it in this thread or the previous one, but I definitely see this approaching the 3-hour run time mark (with credits, so a little less). With all the content and characters they've got to juggle, it's a possibility.

Someone showed larry Fong the riddler Easter egg on Twitter and he replied:

"I don't think anyone's found the best Easter egg yet"

Time to go hunting.

In addition to all this, getting rid of prep time is the same as getting rid of Supes' invincibility. Batman is the one of the greatest tacticians in comics.
He fucking out dueled Darkseid solo and
Supes is easy by comparison.

Beating Superman is easy because all he has to do is hold Lois in danger and beat Supes as he races off to find her.

Honestly, Batman is 3-0 against Superman if we're counting official canon.
He kicked his ass in the Dark Knight. I could've sworn I read an issue during the Hush storyline where Batman won again. Let's not forget the Tower of Babel ether that was so bad Supes voted to kick Batman out the league.
Batman has to wash Supes badly in this movie.

I'm talking Charlie Clips T-Rex washing. I'm talking Daylyt Aye Verb washing. I'm talking LA Lakers Kobe-Shaq dynasty washing. This needs to be a decisive victory for Bruce. Let Clark shine by having him save a drowning puppy at the beginning but once the blows start Supes shouldn't stand a chance against Mr. Prep Time.

Nah, he wont be able to move around as freely.

Creating the new Batsuit, revealed Wilkinson, included input from Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder, who apparently wanted to address one of the problems with Batmen from previous movies: namely, the Dark Knight's inability to turn his head.

"It’s a very important thing to Zack that the Batsuit would be comfortable and very flexible but then would be able to perform in a very natural and forceful way," said Wilkinson, adding that the rigidity of the cowl and neck-pieces was "one of the first things that Snyder mentioned to me in one of our initial meetings." This time around, promised Wilkinson, "a lot of incredible engineering went into the development of the new black cowl."

Regarding Hush:
I don't think he beats him, but manages to get away at least, then drops Lois Lane off a building to break Ivy's spell over him.

You can already tell "how can batman fight superman!?!?" Is becoming the go-to bullet point criticism for these threads, as if there isn't countless superman/batman fights in the comic books (as if comic book continuity suddenly matters all of a sudden anyway) to use as precedence.

It's probably going to be this movies "Why didn't Superman care about all the destruction!?!"
