One of my favorite's is about to shine!
Ice Ice Baby.
I can't wait until we get Part 4, too! Decades long fantasy to have animated series based on this manga.

*swoon*

Good Episode ! I never read the manga so I have no clue about Terence. But past him, it's gonna be a wild ride. 8 episodes left for the rest is good enough for me ! :)

Today was a pretty terrible first half highlighting the continuing issue with this series and how powerful some characters are yet being defeated in such disappointing basic means.
No Way should the bird have been killed just from being bitten like that. He had the lead on Iggy the whole two episodes with the ice and sparks thing going on. He should have lasted and been able to go free at least or have eliminated Iggy, someone on Dio's side needs a win and the bird deserved.

Episode redeemed though second half, really exciting moment for numerous reasons.

Dude. Iggy closed Pet Shop's beak shut while he was charging up an attack from it. He launched an attack inside his own mouth. He exploded. His death was brutal and well-deserved. Pet Shop's an asshole but I love him. Time for Kakyoin to actually do something!

I mean,
he also got crushed under x pounds of water pressure. His beak was crushed so he couldn't hold his breath, I really can't think of any way that pet shop could've survived that.

Uh, besides
German medicine, anyways.

That conclusion to the Pet Shop fight was awesome.
Shooting a hole in his wing and crushing his beak? I mean damn, that's brutal.
Super pumped for D'Arby the Player. His brother was great.

Pet Shop was a fucking savage. Was anxious to see how Iggy was going to get out of it...

his
flashbacks with his bitches
tho lmao.

I mean Pet Shop could have just cut off Iggy's air supply and waited it out.
He wasn't a very smart bird.
That's not even it, Petshop is pretty sadistic. He'd rather kill iggy himself up close than to let him die through suffocation or anything like that, which is still odd given that drowning is one of the worst possible deaths but you know, he's a giant cunt.

Why do people still respond to DTL?

Great episode this week! Great end to the Pet Shop fight. I loved how they recapped their journey at the end of the episode followed by the introduction of next week's enemy! Nicely done, David Production!

So according to Wikipedia, this season will end with 24 episodes total, meaning as is we got 9 more eps.
I wonder if they would actually turn the final battle into 4 eps. lol.

Yo Pet Shop just does not stop coming after you. He just dove into the water like it wasn't nothing. Gave Iggy one creepy ass death stare, sadistic ass bird. I was rooting for that damn bird even though I full well knew the outcome, stay majestic as fuck Pet Shop, stay majestic.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - Stardust Crusaders "the past few episodes"

  • The previous Hol Horse episodes were tense as fuck and the past Boingo epsiode was hilarious. Put them togehter though and you get a pretty mediocre encounter though. Given Hol Horse's prominence in both the old Capcom and recent Jojo Fighting games, the sense I got was that he was a big, reoccurring player in Part 3. He really didn't do much at all though. Also, how did his own bullets, which he controls, come back to hit him in the face? Wut? Because he was so focused on hitting Jotaro they hit the picture in the book? I feel that was kind of bullshit.
  • It looked like Boingo was going to get some legit character development but then Araki tanked it for an Iggy joke. LAME. Fuck Iggy.
  • Speaking of Iggy, the Petshop fight was awesome. One of the better ones of the series so far. Petshop was literally the Terminator in bird form. I'm just not sure one awesome fight is enough to make up for the fact that Iggy has been WORTHLESS for the past 15 or however many episodes though. I'm also not sure why they kept the style transition of Iggy from dog-face to man-face in the anime. It got super weird in the flashback. The anime should be FIXING the mistakes from the manga (starting and ending with man-face), not embracing them. Anyway, the pace and tension has been set so I'm looking forward the the next encounters.
  • Oh hey Kakoyin, I forgot you were a character in this show. Maybe you get to do something in Egypt besides job? I think what happened with both Kakoyin and Iggy (as well as Avdol before Egypt - or heck even in Egypt) is that Araki really isn't good about managing larger casts. Hopefully this improves in Part 4 and beyond.

It's just something that also comes at the expense of writing a weekly manga, too. I think I posted in here about when Avdol first "died" and I surmised that it was because he had run out of ideas to involve his character in more fights but then ultimately brought him back due to fan demand, but still didn't really have any ideas for him in real fights. His return is awesome, "Tsk, Tsk." and "HELL 2 U" but ultimately it doesn't show off his cleverness or anything like that. This is probably because Magician's Red was probably in the first batch of Stands he came up with and so it seems relatively vanilla compared to others.

See: Mariah, where he only uses his Stand to burn a hole in the ground so they don't get run over by the train.

Kakyoin also suffers from this, in that his Stand isn't really suited towards straight up fighting, but at the same time he gets the amazing Mannish Boy chapters/episodes, and we got to see RERORERORERORERORERO.

His handling of a larger cast in part 4 onwards is really good, but obviously Part 3 suffers a little bit from it because it's the first part with Stands, it's the first part with a supporting cast that doesn't consist largely of descendants of characters you already knew, the first globetrotting adventure, the first time Araki really digs into the monster of the week formula to let him rapidly iterate on Stands... the list can probably go on.

I'll partly agree with DTL honestly, I can understand Iggy defeating Pet Shop, but it really would help put the stakes higher if someone died for once, the random boy from last episode just stumbling upon Iggy and saving him really rubbed me the wrong way.

that's one of the bigger differences between Part 1/2 and 3 so far, I hardly ever feel any main character is actually at danger. Hopefully that will change now that we seem to be reaching the end game.

I'm an anime viewer and I rather like that they kept it, it's odd and bizarre which works fine with the series. Plus the fact that he acted more like a stupid mutt with the dog face, yet now suddenly has thoughts after getting a man-face somehow work well.

Everyone was really hype for D'Arby but I kinda felt that Pet Shop was a way cooler two-parter.

Truth be told, I was more hyped for Pet Shop. (yelled out "YES" when his first screech sounded similar to the arcade game's) But there was a spoiler argument going on, so I got self-conscious, knew I might accidentally spoil something so I withheld.

Boris Diaw does not fit in a wooden box. No chance.
Depends on the box bro.

Eh, they're two different kinds of fights really. I enjoyed both immensely but it really depends on what you're looking for: mind games or straight up brutality. The upcoming fights are going to be great as well.

I've aired my complaints about Part 3 in this thread before. I kept following the show, only watching every 2 weeks so I could watch the 2-parters back to back.

I have to say, I feel like the quality of the show in general has increased with the 2-parters. Each encounter is more fleshed out and feels less like disposable filler. Despite that, I still felt that there was something missing that hurt the the overall quality and uniqueness of the show compared to Season 1 or 2.

I absolutely loved the Pet Shop fight. This is what I've been missing. Using an entirely ridiculous premise (dog vs hawk) as context, the episode actually got me to care about the dog I was supposed to hate. The actual fight was ridiculous, brutal, and ended with permanent consequence (Iggy lost a leg). It developed a character and did it in stylish JoJo fashion. It felt like the JoJo I had enjoyed in the beginning.

Hoping future episodes trend in this direction.

This episode is too intense, I had to keep pausing, so much better than any of the LoL and such online game matches. I want to play a racing game with Kakyoin so much, that initial move he made to pull ahead, so good.

please dont make him lose anime writers. Surely you can at least have one well written "battle" in this anime before we reach the end. Make up for the embarassing Pet Shop loss please. He already lost once surely you wont make him lose a second time. Surely D'arby's damage will cause his own car to break or something.

DTL, you do know this is an adaptation of a manga that finished 24 years ago, right?

Direct all complaints to Araki and not David Production.

I was anti-hyped for D'Arby because it had already had an unbeatably good adaptation and, frankly, the TV series managed to do it pretty well.

I feel that the Pet Shop fight was one of the best fights of the arc, along with the Anubis battle.

Er, have you read DTL's posts before?

F-Mega seems like a pretty extreme videogame. Special spin techniques, POWER metres, racing with no vision of your vehicle etc. Quite absurd.

This was the first 2 parter that I feel wasn't needlessly padded out. That could change next episode I guess, but I have high hopes. The animation was also pretty good this episode, David does face close ups damn well.

The best part is they got the studio that does the CG for the openings to do the CG for the game and the dolls. It's perfect.

F-Mega has really cool gameplay concepts though. The tunnel that goes pitch black and is lit up by the cannon for a second is amazing, in addition to the speed boost upon exiting it. Araki should have let someone make a game about it. It probably couldn't be called F-Mega, of course.
