Ultra Street Fighter 4 hits PS4 on May 26th, $24.99: PS3 Stick Support Confirmed!

I'd say it's very likely that Capcom will go for it. Anyone can implement these drivers. While it may have been a good idea to partner up for merchandised sticks in 2009 when many gamers didn't have USB controllers, the FGC is pretty much loaded up with USB sticks these days, and asking people to buy them all over again for a port, a port geared for Evo at that, would be very dumb. These things are really expensive, and not many people will be happy about starting a collection.

And I'll stick my neck out by saying that Capcom will absolutely without a doubt integrate PS3 USB for SFV, it'd be suicide for the game if they didn't, although I'm sure you can expect the usual 'event' sticks for it as well. Capcom are opportunistic, sure, but they're not idiots.

they're opportunistic idiots

sometimes that lines up with what people want

Yeah, I've only played like 10 minutes of GTA. Games aren't for me.

Maybe the person is really young, but it's hard to imagine anybody 25 years of age or older that hasn't thrown a fireball.

Could be my bias showing.

Well I'm only 21.

Had a N64 as a kid which didn't have Street Fighter. Then I've just never felt the need to play it, never really been into fighting games outside of Smash, which I'm not competitive about or anything and treat as pretty much a party game.

So yeah.

Might check out SF2 on VC or just wait for SF5.

SFIV was my first street fighter. It had a pretty big barrier for me outside of throwing hadokens with ryu... but once I got it, the game was a TON of fun to play. $25 is a really great deal to be able to try it.

Lump me in the camp hoping for the universal USB driver. I can't get rid of my Saturn pads. Tried stick and can play on them but the Saturn D pad always felt right to me. Dashing and double fire ball motions are so much easier for me on it.

The ease of sharing matches via the Share button is one of the main reasons I'm excited about this version despite having already played the game a lot. Shame it's 30fps but it's better than nowt.

I wonder if it'll be a straight port in that they include the old combo trials from Super alongside the option for the Ultra trials? Or if the trophies will remain the same and C to Shining C will be earned by getting all characters from Super to C rank, without the AE and Ultra folk? I'd rather they tidy things like that up a little.

I also fully expect the game to appear on PS Plus, to thoroughly promote Street Fighter V. Even if it was the PS Plus game for June I'd still buy it in May at that price. Absolute bargain.

Has there been any mention of PS4 pads for this? I don't want a fight stick but I'd love to get a fight-pad if they make them. Does anybody know if the Hori Fight Commander 4 will be compatible? Does the FC4 just show as a standard DS4 or do they need to specifically choose to support it?

Had the PS3 version and it was perfect for me as i'm not into the games enough to buy a stick.

If they don't utilize the universal driver there's still the Titan One adapter.

It's just a a pad. It'll work fine on PS4. I've got one myself.

I'd love a "rematch" option after a fight in online Endless. I've wanted it since Vanilla. Some people just wanna keep going with one character, and having to re pick, and wait for it to reload is dumb as shit. Seth Killian took my question regarding that on the 1Up Show before Super came out and was like "that's a good idea" ...and that was it. Grrrrr

I had the Titan One adapter. Sold it off to a friend. I didn't like the fact that I always had to be tethered to the PC to use my controller. If they chose not to support it I guess i'll just stick with the PC version.

You can just use it together with a wired PS4-pad AFAIK, e.g. the Hori FC4 and then play with a Saturn USB-pad or PS3 stick.
You only need a PC to remap the buttons to your liking.

Hmmm. Never got Ultra, kinda conflicted on if I want the PC version or this, if any. Can I use my Saturn USB pad on the PS4 version?

Would have preferred a physical release but at least the digital price is right

I got into SFIV late, only about a year ago.

Hopefully loading times with the menu are much faster.

1080p USFIV yay.

Will PS4 version have cross play with PC, or is that only going to be for SFV ?

I have 2 PS3 mad catz (original SF tournament) sticks but I can get a Hori real arcade pro 4 kai for around £70 my question is

1, is the Hori as good as the Madcatz?

2. should I bother spending more money on another given that Sony seem to be community focussed this time around and would probably not want to piss the fans off by blocking existing sticks

any advice would be great

1. Preference. Some will say yes, some will say no. I think they're great for the price, but prefer the TE2 myself.

2. Just wait until closer to to launch. Should be an announcement by then of there's one to be made.

I have the Qanba Q4...its a pretty damn kickass fight stick that works on 360, PS3, & PC. What's the latest word on PS4 compatibility with PS3 sticks? No fuckin way I buy a new fight stick just for one game. I already spent $150 on this thing. But if the Q4 is compatible it'd probably be enough to make me purchase this game day 1 on PS4....

No. It disconnects every 7 minutes or so. Only way that works is if the game supports the open driver (like mkx). With ps4 use you have to have the titan one ran through the PC with a program running in the background

I have a Titan One but have been hoping Sony would finally enable backwards compatibility with fight sticks and wheels. Is there some known technical hurdle preventing this or are we talking about good ol fashioned greed (ie, they want people to buy more "officially licensed PS4" controllers)?

Based on Markmans replies Im confident in something being announced soon.

However the issue lies with the game itself allowing the controllers since MKX and Skullgirls will support nearly every USB fight pad/stick.

The contract Capcom signed with Marvel for UMvC3 expired a while back. The cost of getting another one is too expensive for Capcom given their current financial situation.

Maybe sony can help given their recent negotiations with disney/marvel on spiderman being part of the MCU. However, Xb1 fans would suffer since such an alliance would mean a potential MvC4 would be exclusive to ps4.

Most likely both.

Are there even any native PS4 sticks?

Plenty if you look around. I saw a good USF4 PS3/PS4 compatible one going a while back. Of course this was before USF4 and SF5 were officially announced so they had to do the "i don't know nothing about nothing bub" schtick.

Share play is now 60fps same as remote play!

I wouldn't have any problem with that honestly. It would probably come to pc as well if they follow what they are doing with SF5. Sadly we won't get a Marvel game for a while I hate how they abandoned the game like that especially with how well it was doing but its not all Capcom's fault tho.
