Lucha Underground.

It even has sweet arm breaker submissions!

It's because he won't accept his role as a villain. He wants to be seen as the hero.
Even worse, he keeps vacillating between the two. The whole "conflicted champion trying to be a good guy" thing could work but Jones keeps letting his social media accounts get hacked, ruining the angle. I appreciate the potential of a cocaine induced schizophrenia storyline but it's never going to get traction in the mainstream.

This meme was cool last year. Everybody was saying the UFC was done, and not understanding the purpose of the Fight Pass cards and Fox cards, complaining about over-saturation. But what the UFC has done is expand globally. It's a pretty silly meme now, IMO though.

Personally, I think UFC is on the right track with all their shows, and is actually pretty deep with star power and, more importantly, star-making power now. Just because they aren't the stars of yesteryear doesn't mean they aren't real stars.

The build for Aldo vs McGreggor is state-of-the-art. what they have done months out from that fight is incredible. Really, this is the best build-up of a hype train for any event I can recall since Wrestlemania 17. Ronda is a bonafide huge star. Robbie Lawler winning the title was the "feel-good" moment of the year for a lot of hardcore, long-time fans. The Ultimate Fighter reality show is stronger than it's been in ages, coming off an amazing Latin America version, the Women's 115 tourney series, and this new season that kicked off this week, which is a super fresh take on the series that makes the show more exciting than it's been in years. And look at how they have handled Paige Vanzant. They are building her into a star perfectly.

But yeah, if you don't like all that, and just wanna see crazy shit, go watch pro wrestling. With New Japan and Lucha Underground on TV and clicking on all cylinders, maybe you'll enjoy that more.

EDIT:

The only big star left is Bones and he's an unlikable douche. And he's not even in an unlikable douche in the you want to see him lose way.

That statement is so utterly wrong, it basically ruins the credibility of your opinion. Don't be silly. Ronda is a huge star, as demonstrated by mainstream media and PPV buys and show gates. Probably even bigger than Jones at this point, honestly. Jones vs. Cormier was another fight that real fight fans wanted to see and it delivered.

Jones delivered too, dominating Cormier, even in the wrestling. Don't know what else you could ask of a champ--he went in, fought his ass off, stood in the middle of his opponent's playground, and beat him at his own game.

The opposite for me. Jones vs Cormier, Silva vs Diaz, Rumble vs Gus in the first month alone. Bendo vs Thatch was a great fight. Reem vs Big Country, Rousey Zingano (on paper anyway), Joanna nearly murdering Carla Esparza for that belt... Some major upsets like Pettis getting owned for five rounds. There was a great FOX card just last week. Edgar vs Faber is a fun upcoming (and free) matchup. UFC 187, 188, and 189 are all stacked with very fun fights. The next Fox card with Dillashaw and Pettis looks good too.

Dunno, I've been very happy with this year so far. Big improvement over the shitty 2014 with all those injuries ruining cards.

I stopped watching it a few months ago.

You like me, you really really like me!
Not really. I mean fighting, i don’t care what color you are, or what language you speak, or what country you live it, we’re all human beings and fighting’s in our DNA. We get it and we like it.

Before a guy ever hit a ball with a bat, or a ball went through a hoop, there were two guys on this planet and somebody threw a punch, and anybody who was standing around was watching it. It translates across all different barriers, and this will be the biggest sport in the world.

You can say what you want about this weeks card, but let me tell you, this kid Horiguchi is fucking nasty. Hes a stud. He could win this. And Demetrius Johnson is,arguably, the greatest pound for pound fighter in the world today. Its gonna be a fantastic fight.

Yeah, lost interest about a year ago. Went back to WRASSLIN, at least there they can be on PED's and it doesn't affect anything. Plus they have saturated the market too much, there's something every week and the dudes and chicks are all too boring to care about.

UFC-GAF is dead, so you're certainly not the only one. I don't remember the last time I watched a UFC event.

Still love the sport of mma and will watch cards, but since there are so many UFC events, it's lost that 'big event' feeling. A numbered UFC card needs to be the talk of the town.

Thought Emoji Movie was good. Take that as you will.
Over exposure. Just too many guys to keep track of, there just isn't enough fights that make you give a fuck.. and a lot of watching fights is caring about what happens.

That and there's a lot of boring fights... less submissions, more really pathetic stand-up that goes no where.

I do completely understand where people are coming from regarding fatigue. To me though, it's my favorite sport and even though it gets expensive and some cards are less than spectacular, I still love it and hate the idea that I might miss an amazing fight if I don't tune in. I haven't missed a single event since 2008 and probably won't for a while.

I lost interest about 2 years ago for a few reasons.

* lack of personalities
* fighters are skilled in all areas making many fights a stale mate, to many decisions
* Over saturation, too many events, to many ultimate fighter series
* knowing most fighters are on appallingly little money has turned me off the organization

Way over it.

I forgot about Ronda and I honestly don't know how I did. But she's it. The only two names they have right now that speak to a mainstream audience are Ronda and Bones.

Lost interest a few years after PRIDE died and UFC started becoming more mainstream.

#MMAhipster

Same. I loved Pride. They really built up their stars and my interest in the sport. Ever since the UFC got huge a few years back, I have no idea who the fighters are and even less interest.

Started Watching when the fist season of Ultimate Fighter was on TV. Now, most of my favorite fighters are either retired or irrelevant.

They need to stack their cards mores. I don't know what the fuck they are thinking headlining PPVs or cards with Mighty Mouse or any female fighter not named Rousey. They seem to have this idea that simply being "UFC Champion" is some prestigious title that will draw in fans and book their cards accordingly. They need to drop the idea of trying to be a legit sports league and just embrace the inherent carnie-ness of their sport and run with it. UFC 100 wasn't the start of a new future for mma, it was the peak. Brock Lesnar ain't coming through that door.

Hail to the KING baby
Yes. It's honestly been brutal the past couple years. And I'm the kind of person who would start watching with the Facebook cards, then hop to the prelims, then pay for the PPV. I wouldn't miss a single event. But once they switched to their dilution strategy I lost interest really quickly. And it has a snowball effect to where the cards suck, so you skip them and miss out on maybe one or two new guys who might be interesting, and then you just don't get sucked in anymore other than for certain title fights because you barely know much about anyone else.

Really has been a vicious cycle of disinterest. I got FightPass the day it was announced, but that thing is a total insult and I feel bad for even having paid for a single month of it. I'm still having a bunch of friends over for the Bones/Weidman card, but I'm no longer getting every PPV and rarely having people over for anything but the absolute best PPVs. Tomorrow's card is completely insulting and pretty much the epitome of the modern UFC even though it co-mains a guy who was washed up three organizations ago (against a flabby guy who's basically a walking concussion).

I really do appreciate that fans are speaking with their wallets though. Especially countries the UFC felt they could just shovel garbage to and they'd snatch it up.
Presumably due to very slow ticket sales in Montreal, the UFC has apparently closed off the whole upper bowl of Bell Centre seating a few days before UFC 186.

Yeah, I was a huge fan and followed UFC pretty religiously for years, but completely lost interest about 3-4 years ago and now I couldn't even tell you who the champs are for each weight class. I'm not even sure if some of the big names like GSP and Silva have are still fighting.

i still like some fighters but the fucking doping and fighters that cheated is ruining UFC.

I still love bispin, cerrone, rashaad, lauzon , machida and my favourite Luke Rockhold, and will ever see their fights.

I don't watch everything anymore like I used to, but I think my interest is still there for the cards that deserve it.

UFC 187, and 189 on paper look really good, and UFC 188 has some great fights (Alvarez vs Melendez is going to be great).

The problem for me was the move to FS1. Still don't get that in my basic package. I usually catch the fights on Fox though.

Anyway, part of the problem is the hype didn't transfer to the current holders of the belts like it did 5 years ago.

Clearly there isn't enough events to keep you satisfied.
2015-ufc-schedule.jpg

I mean just look at this banger of a card tomorrow. If that's not worth $60, I don't know what is.
Qaow6Hm.png
Exactly. I think they should do less events and focus on having better cards. I've lost interest because there haven't been as many stacked cards as there were a few years ago.

Yes I am also one of those people who miss pride.
