The acquisition rate of Proud Souls better be way higher because having to get stuff like Enemy Step for 5000 is fucking ridiculous.

Scaling down the orb requirement universally would take like 5 minutes.. kind of dissapointing if they don't do that..In the end, it's not the end of the world that they didn't add too much more besides combat (likely because they're focusing on DMC5).
But I was really hoping that at least the Orb requirement towards Rank would've been dealt with.
So no glimpse of the unlockable costumes? The player got ~1100 proud souls for a B rank on Mission 2, so I guess you can maybe use that to guesstimate. Of course, it may be even higher on higher ranks, as well as on higher difficulties. Maybe there will be a better player tomorrow and we can see.
What going on here is Lady magic now?
And she borrows Dante's shoutgun attack? Thats kind of lame. She should get something original. I couldn't makeout much in the Trish I saw but she also get the round trip.
Yeah I see it now. The yellow light was confusing me but I see the grenades above her.No, that looks like her 'devil trigger' which she launches a volley of grenades around her.
I feel like the proud souls drop rate was even higher on the stream. He went from having about 100 to 1800 between mission 1 and 2, iirc.
Can she get anymore perfect? Wow

After Mission 2, I'm pretty sure he had 1450. I just didn't catch what he earned from Mission 1.

moaning and everything, and i thought he only did that when rain ruined his hair.
Maybe he's gorgeous, maybe it's motivation(tm).
Two bangs on the left side hanging out... can't lose his motivation factor.moaning and everything, and i thought he only did that when rain ruined his hair.
a bit unnecessary as Vergil knows he doesn't need Bayonetta or Trish style sighing, but, like whatever he does it anyways. What do you guys think of the breathing/sighing thing he is doing?
Seems odd to me.

When you are a terrible Oedipus complex magic clone that isn't no where as cool as everyone else, you work with what you have.

What's annoying about Lady? She's a bad ass gunslinging girl on a mission with her own story arc within the game. It's like they had a checklist with annoying characteristics and made sure to tick ALL of them while working on the script.
It seems out of character to me. A Bayonetta inspiration I'd wager, but it doesn't fit Vergil IMO. Not a big deal obviously though.
And is it just me or is Vergil's model and (mostly facial) animation seriously inferior to Nero and Dante's?
Eh, Oedipus complex creepiness aside, at least Trish was not anime protagonist levels of annoying. I replayed DMC3 recently in anticipation of DMC4SE, and Lady's appearances made me want to skip the cutscene more often than not. It's like they had a checklist with annoying characteristics and made sure to tick ALL of them while working on the script. And then the anime made it worse, and DMC4 followed up with the money thing out of nowhere.
Opinions and all, but I'd much rather have Trish than Lady onscreen anytime.

DMC3 Lady is not only the coolest female character in the DMC series but she's one of the coolest female characters in gaming. Her being put up next to other characters in Project x Zone only made it more clear to me.
Lady is like Batman among the Justice League.
Prep time son., to be fair Lady can only go against low demons, and was easily manipulated like the rest by Arkham she is still no match for poweful demons or needs support to fight them.
What's annoying about Lady? She's a bad ass gunslinging girl on a mission with her own story arc within the game.
We can do without that white suit though...DMC4's upgrade into her being a solo, business savvy professional is really the ideal next step for her.

Or at least wear something underneath that.

The money thing actually made sense from the anime. Lady being the practical one while Trish/Dante being the gooftball demon hunters just made a lot of sense. One of the few things the anime actually did right.

However I do want her to be amazing and prove me wrong from a gameplay point, because I don't care about characters so much when ripping stuff up in BP.
If Vergil really doesn't have a proper Air Hike I'm going to be really sad about it.
I won't argue about Lady having her own motivations, story significance and character growth in DMC3, or the idea of a single human badass among supernatural badasses being super cool. I agree with all that.
BUT her DMC3 persona still annoys me to no end me with how ridiculously stubborn and blind she is. She's a badass gunslinging girl on a mission, yeah - a mission she refuses to notice is not her league, no matter how many times said league slaps her across the face. As a result, she gets played by Arkham, single-handedly enables him to succeed in his plan, and STILL refuses to acknowledge her own stupidity and insists on pushing onwards despite having no chance of reasonably achieving anything. There's badassery, and then there's not knowing your own limits - if such a thing is even possible in the DMCverse, then Lady mastered this skill, and this alone.
Then there's that scene where shoots Dante in the face and realizes he's not human AFTER seeing him survive that. Again, there's badassery and there's sociopathy, and DMC3 Lady is a prime example of anime style characterization crossing the line between the two.
tl;dr she just oozes the kind of angst that I legit can't stand in storytelling, and her ridiculously cool gun tricks are not enough to make up for it.
And about the money thing - I guess acting like she does towards your supposed friends rubs me the wrong way, that's all. Then again, it might be my general dislike of Lady from her DMC3 appearance and my general dislike of the anime making me too biased for my own good.
I'm okay with characters having key differences like that.
And can't say he is hurting for mobility options much in the SE.
Lady isn't the only who gets played by Arkham... both Dante and Vergil get played as well. Lady obviously knows she is out classed but that doesn't stop her because she is relentless in her mission to kill Arkham. Should Batman not face Darkseid because he is "out classed" by him? That's what heroes are about, facing down the odds when they are stacked against you.
So Dante can take a bullet from her? Does that mean she should just quit her mission and let the "big boys" handle it? That's the exact weak female character bull shit that most AAA games shove our throats these days. She doesn't need saving or to have someone else kill for her.
She has like one scene of angst and that is when she confesses to Dante that Arkham became a demon and killed her mother. That's like not even that bad and it seemed like more like frustration out of Dante making a joke out of everything and not being phased by anything she says or does.
I don't know man... but if some unkillable half demon started making jest of my situation (which involved a sociopathic father and a dead mother) I would get ticked off too.
are you saying she could beat him on her own or team up with the others?Well, every single character in DMC3 as played by Arkham... and each of them contributed to bringing his plan to fruition. Dante, Vergil, and Lady were all played hardcore. Lady was played harder just because Arkham had the opportunity to use her guilt against her. No one anticipated that she would be a component in opening the demon world.
Lady also never gets her ass kicked except when going against Dante, Vergil, and Arkham, so it's really not absurd to think that she could have caught up to and defeated Arkham on her own. Her stubbornness is a result of her unwillingness to let her family run amok... which is a key theme in the game. Her mother was sacrificed by her father in front of her and she has an opportunity to set things right. And she recognizes that Arkham is her responsibility because he's her father.
I can understand not caring for her attitude in DMC3, though. She's a much different person by the time DMC4 rolls around. The money thing never really bothered me because it seemed like just a playful jab between friends.
Honestly, I agree with this. I don't think Vergil really needs an Air Hike. I don't even really think he should have Million Stab, since that's been a signature Dante move.

Because if its the former i doubt it, not even Dante could beat him and no amount of prep time would be enough for Lady to defeat Arkham, but at least she recognizes this and helps Dante giving her weapon.
To be fair, so were Stinger and Round Trip at one point in time.
